I don't want to see this happen to my second-favorite fantasy realm now.

I remember that as well. I left the game over that. Too bad because I arrived in the game because of Tolkien. I wonder what JRR would think of it. ESO is following the same path and it is making the experience less than perfectly enjoyable.

This is what happens when the tail wags the dog. I am not one who thinks that Marketing and Game Development should be in an arm-in-arm journey down the path to success. Marketing and monetization should be subservient to the game developers, and the devs should be focused on making the best damn game they can, not on ways to make the best damn monetization interface. Old fashioned, and probably not realistic in today's gaming industry, but that is how you make great games.
This happens because the marketing gurus are salesmen, not gamers. Too many seminars on how to sell ice to the Eskimos has them trying to sell Summerset and Morrowind to somebody who already bought them..... many, many times per play session. But the difference is Eskimos can buy more Ice, and I can't buy what they're trying to sell me duplicate copies of. It makes the sales team look inept and amateurish if they can't even tell what I can and can't buy. Which in turn makes the whole crown store experience unattractive and pushed out of the way as quickly as possible.

I don't see what the problem is. You have to click to exit the game anyway.
Just my 2 cents worth.
It happens to me every time I log out of the game. I don't know what happens on counsel, I am on PClordrichter wrote: »Easily_Lost wrote: »I read some posts about the reminder of the next daily reward when you log off and the number of people that think it is bad that you have to click on it.

People mention this logout message, and I have to admit that I have never seen it. What prompts it to happen?

What happens if we just don't log out and shut down windows? In gamepad mode, you have to load the character screen first. Then you can exit to the login screen. Quit that. Then close the launcher and then shutdown windows. Wtf am I doing all that for? If I push power, windows takes over and shuts down.

It’s worth mentioning this is only partially populated, and once the Daily Login Rewards is activated next week, this will be a place where you can also easily see which rewards are available to claim in addition to what’s currently being displayed. It will also provide some additional real estate to showcase in-game events when they’re active, and featured Crown Store items so you don’t miss out.
That said, we agree that this window is appearing too frequently and are working on making some adjustments. The plan is to have it only display once per account either when we’ve changed the featured products, or when a daily reward is available for you to claim. This work is in progress and will be implemented in a future incremental patch.

@Colecovision If you don't log out properly using the menu (or the /logout or /quit commands on PC), SavedVariables don't get written properly and your character can remain logged in on the server until the inactivity timer kicks them out.Colecovision wrote: »Easily_Lost wrote: »It happens to me every time I log out of the game. Zeni - just in case you're watching this to see at what point do we stop complaining and fall in line like your marketing team wants: I'm still very very disgusted with how this was implemented. I still refuse to read these marketing assaults when I log in, and still refuse to buy anything in the crown store, as a direct result of this tactic.

Incidentally, for anyone on PC who wants to avoid the Daily Rewards reminder pop-up on logout, if you use the slash commands above, the reminder doesn't show.
