I just checked again the Summerset preview from the offical web site .
CRAFT CUSTOM (AND POWERFUL) JEWELRY
If you enjoy crafting your own gear, ESO: Summerset allows you to learn and master an all-new Jewelry Crafting Skill Line. Jewelry Crafting works very similar to many of ESO's other crafting Skills Lines, and you'll be able to create, deconstruct, research, and improve rings and necklaces, allowing you to truly tailor all of your items.
Throughout Tamriel, you can find new Jewelry Crafting Stations (including set stations) that allow you to create custom jewelry for the current crafted item sets, and you will be able to complete Writs and Master Writs like any other crafting Skill Line. Note that the Summerset Chapter is required to use the new Crafting Stations.
Wat..wat...

There is supposed to be a UI element that distinguishes old legacy jewelry from post SU drops. However, because we were using template characters we created for testing, all of their jewelry was registered as post-18, so we never interacted with jewelry that couldn't be deconned.

I see all those nonsense comments like "exploiting blaaa blaaa blaaa" how come it's exploit to not sell your golden jewellery to vendors? It's my freaking well-earned collection and it's not ZoS' concern to punish people in order to make a so-called fair market. Market is not theirs, it belongs to players and everybody sell ridiculous stuff to ridiculous prices at all times. Avoiding people from deconstructing their jewellery won't make the market a "fair" place or something.
And you can't claim that it's gonna work like blacskmithing when you don't let people to deconstruct their stuff.
I saved jewellery, and some other did not. Now if i was expecting an extra reward for collecting it, it would be my fault but all i expect is being able to deconstruct my stuff which is game basics. And if i'm not allowed to do this, it's a stupid punishment.
I'm serious, i was gonna buy the chapter until i heard this. Even tho they put an Asylum vol II in an expansion and called it a new trial. But i doubt i will pay more money to those who don't bother working on an extra code or two to make game performance better while putting some ridiculous effort to a non-existent problem.
And nobody takes your collection from you. The same as nobody promised you would be able to decon it.

If you don’t own Summerset, you will still be able to find Jewelry Crafting resource nodes to sell, and you will also be able to purchase crafted jewelry from others. Set jewelry will be BoE, non-set will not be bound. Additionally, you will not be able to deconstruct any jewelry you're currently holding onto prior to Summerset launch.
We're currently working on a very extensive Jewelry Crafting article that we plan to publish before we start the next PTS cycle, which will hopefully answer a lot more questions.
So I’m posting this because it’s actually a pretty big deal. Many players have stashed their Gold jewelry for a very long time in anticipation of Jewelry Crafting finally launching. Personally I have exactly 213 Gold jewelry pieces that I have held onto specifically to deconstruct (after keeping all that I need) - about a 1.5yrs of raiding. Nevermind how this affects me though..... obviously I’m going to have a bias here lol. I personally dislike that they’re doing this and know many players in a similar situation who feel the same.
I want to know what you all think about this. Should Gold Jewelry earned prior to Summerset launch be deconstructable?
EDIT:ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »You will still be able to upgrade, transmute, or even research existing jewelry. You just won't be able to deconstruct it.

And the so called "grind", not that much either. I've grinded the dolmens for too long that this one is a walk in the park... err dolmen, I mean.
I'll just say two things:
1. Be very careful about leaping in to research stuff. The main achievement ONLY requires you to know the trait on EITHER a ring or neck. If you work it properly you can get to 9 traits jewelry crafting quickly.
2. If you leap in too early cos there are obvious traits that you have 1000 rings available to deco, you will lose out if you want to do the achievement quickly.

- I think most crafters are more interested in being able to craft 9 trait jewelry sets, not just GMC title.
- Wut? 9 traits take the same amount of time, regardless of the order you choose to research in. If you're deconning infused in favor of holding on to common drops (healthy/robust/arcane), then that's a whole different (personal) issue.

I mean if you farm dolmens for hours and hours on end every day I’d imagine you’d level up quicker. Sounds like a part-time job......
Either way I’m on console so I don’t know for sure yet. The math I’ve seen makes it look worse than Enchanting
The grind people refer to was more regarding materials pretty sure. Like how it takes 10x the upgrade mats for jewelry. The vast majority of players will not use this system except for Transmutation.

It levels up surprisingly fast. A few hours of dolmen farming will max you out. If you don’t fancy that, it should reach 50 probably way before you research the traits. The inspiration gained from a cp160 item is pretty high, even the highest levels you need around 20 to lvl up (below 30 it’s way less). Worth to mention the gap between a traited white and purple inspiration is about 30-40% only, so even junk or green drops will get you there fast. The only exception is traitless rings and the ones sold by npc mages - those only give you a little xp, not sure why.
Last thing worth mentioning, intricate jewellery seems broken. Tooltip indicates +300% inspiration but the actual difference between white jewellery and intricate version is only about 40-50%. Be careful when buying it from others...
Thats exactly the reason they went that route, so that no one can flood the economy with materials from items of the last 4 years. So I’m posting this because it’s actually a pretty big deal.
