How many Jewelry Crafting Books have you found?

The books I ask about are the ones that advance a skill by one level when read.

I've found two so far as I wasn't thinking about looking for these, since its been so long since reading one has done me any good.

One was in the area bellow Lillandril and the other was towards the top of the Crystal Tower on the main quest.

Also, have you seen any added to other areas of the game like Alliance zones?

There was one in the Aldarch's office in Shimmerene. Found it by checking bookshelves, so I'll probably save it on alts for higher levels of jewelry crafting.

If it's like other skill books, it is always in shelves and shelves will show you a random book.

So how many skill levels it is possible to learn with books? Never bothered to advance other skills with books, but jewelry is grindy. Is there any cap on how many jewelry books will advance your skill?

Someone in my guild said he found 25 by going to a mages guild and logging in and out. I tried this but had no luck so far

I am trying NOT to read anything on my main until my level is much higher. Rather advance a long level at the end than a short one!

Other crafts are capped at 6 so that would surprise me...

There should be a list in Eidetic Memory>Skill Books. Prior to Summerset there were 84 books in that list.

Most are probably for starting characters and span all crafts.

To my knowledge you can use them and any level before 50 but not sure how many you can use.

There are actually 2 books:
- found one at the Augury Basin crafting station, don't remember the name
- there's another one called Jewels of Yokuda that I've found in a random book shelf, if I remember correctly at the Illumination academy. Note that this maybe random spawn, but the locations are next to each other

Bookshelf books are "random" so its pointless to save their current location for a later character, FYI.

Books may be random but I've found the one, in the place I marked above, with another character. Maybe rooms have a list to pick from or only certain book type locations are random such as Edict Memory books working like Lore books and having a fixed location.

I've only found 2 myself. I'm now in the habit of leveling my jewelry crafters up to level 48, then just hunting down the two books to finish it off. Between the temple in Shimmerene and the delve in Artaeum, it doesn't take long to find those two. There may be a third, but I'll likely never see it as I'm stopping at two.

According to Edict Memory there are only two but you can find them multiple times and won't get credit if you've already read them.

I found both books on the main quest pretry quick. So if u read all the books as u go u will find them.

I haven't found any jewelry books that advance the skill yet.

I actually wanted to know, is there a finite amount of skill books to read in the game? Because, I read every bookshelf I find and it has been a few weeks since I have read a skill book of any kind. Maybe i'm just not reading the right shelves now, or something. Used to find them all the time.

I think there are 5 for evey skill except jewelry which has 2.

There are only two books for jewelry. You can verify this by looking at the "Skill Books" section of Eidetic Memory. I had collected every one pre-Summerset, and only two were added in Summerset.

One of these books, the Pretension of High Elf Jewelry, has a guaranteed spawn location as a placed book at the Augury Basin crafting station. It also has a chance of spawning randomly on bookshelves in Summerset/Artaem.

The other book, the Jewels of Yokuda, only spawns randomly on Summerset/Artaem bookshelves.

I am now taking regularly two last jewelry crafting levels with books. The route is:
Simmerene: Monastery, Kinlady's house, Inn, Mages Guild.
Alinor: Mages Guild
and i usually have both. Repeated by now about ten times.

Traitor's Vault (in Artaeum) has been last resort on few cases when even after Alinor a book was missing.

Few times i have tried other locations and it feels that the books can be everywhere and often. Summerset is full of bookshelves.

I've been doing the final two levels with books as well. It's a lot simpler for me, though. I first visit the Augury Basin for the guaranteed spawn of one of the books. And then just go in and out of the Shimmerene monastery. Since that is a separate zone, each time you enter/exit it, it will reset all of the bookshelves. Though I did make a few MG/manor runs too, but the monastery loop seems a bit faster.

I friggin forgot about skill books. Spent hundreds of thousands of gold to power level JC, probably could've saved a 100K or so for those last couple of levels. RIP me.
