Do you want a toggle option for the visual effects of weapon enchantments?

Like the title of the poll says, do you want a option to toggle the visual effect for weapon enchantments on or off?

I for one worked quite hard to come up with a outfit/color combo to match the theme my characters play and personally i feel as if the current visual effects are badly done. Now with that being said i realize and understand that some people like these effects, so after seeing quite a few guild mates discussing this as well as a few threads on the forums talking about it as well, that ZoS give us a option in the in-game menus to turn the visual effects on or off so that both parties will be happy.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

P.S. I had the previous poll shut down due to the complaints of it being "biased" seeing as it seems that most people can't detect sarcasm.

I personally like the effects A LOT. But seeing as how it bothers so many people it would be nice to have that option.

Or better yet... Introduce it into outfit system with the ability to pick any enchantment effect you like.

I think that would be a nice option to have as well, although it might be easier and less time consuming for them to just add the toggle effect for the time being. But i do like that idea.

A much improved poll. Like in the previous one, I think the option to turn off effects should be allowed to be toggled if people so wish, but I like to imagine what my foes would be thinking of they were struck with my diseased sword.

As a side note, it would be interesting if we could get some weapon effects in the future like the grey and dark red ones necromancer and shadow/blood mages use. Give us evil folks something to glee about! >:)

Even preferable, allow us to research the different enchantment effects so that we can pick and choose which effect, if any, that we wish to have applied visually.

No, and the reason is Zos should not try to chase every whim a player has.

The main reason does not implement most every suggestion for a toggle on something is it becomes much for new players to figure how what this option or that option does.

Heck, it would become overwhelming for experienced players.

    Simple as that.

Zos is required to be like this since we would have hundreds of toggles otherwise. This is not intended to be rude to OP, but a new toggle because the color does not look good on my character is probably not sufficient reasoning.

Considering the fact that most settings in-game now have a description telling players what they do, i find your statement to be rather poorly thought out. I mean if you think this simple option would be "overwhelming" then please do not by all means look at the options for half of the addons.

Sufficient reason? Considering the fact that there are several threads on the forums as is, asking for a feature like this or discussing how those players dislike the enchantment effects, along with the 80 or so people i've spoken to in-game so far about it, i'd say that's sufficient reason. People like having options, i mean after whats the point of coming up with an outfit thats going to be ruined due to some half made enchantment texture?

    You're not rude, just non-constructive.

I abhor the change that now forces me to look at those dumb enchantment and poison effects, effectively ruining the aesthetic on all my characters. :'(

So yes, a toggle please, at least, or go one better and add visual weapon effects to the Outfit Designer to hide/show/change to everyone's personal preference.

Absolutely. Please give us a toggle. There is absolutely no reason to not have an option for it. If you like the glow, then just don't toggle it off. Why must everyone else who doesn't like it have to have it because you like it? Don't toggle it off. You're happy, others are happy. That's it.

Unfortunately, I won't be holding my breath on this given they never gave us a toggle for the giant glowy shield nonsense that shows up when you block way, way back with the Dark Brotherhood release/update.

Oh well, I guess I'll just stick with one of my 3 outfits I paid for since it's the only one that (for whatever reason) does not have a glow on it. Good luck guessing why. I've been trying to figure it out myself ever since the update dropped.

Unless ZOS decides to acknowledge it as a bug, if it is a bug. If it is, then just acknowledge that it's there, that you know about it, and that you're looking into it. I can wait until the next big update then for it to get fixed. Or if it's a 'feature' then say so and I'll know I should just reforge my gear without enchantments. Yeah, I'd rather play without enchantment buffs than with this glow. But the silence is what annoys me most about it.

Im glad you enjoy my forum name. It sums up my patience for thread after thread of constant complainers. Zos needs to focus on actual problems and there are currently many.. Not waste time and resources on this fluff.

I can't wait for the weekly "please let me turn off the appearance of my vampire, i only want all the perks but I don't want to actually look like one" thread. "Forced" on players? You do understand what the word "optional" means, right? And its relation to the word "option," right? It is something you can choose to turn on and off at your own leisure, or ignore entirely if you want to. I seriously have never heard so many people opposed to having choices in the way they play their RPG, let alone their RPG on a PC - the platform built from the ground up with choices and options in mind. And if you're on console, then I'd think you'd want every option you can get out of developers - and if you don't then don't use them.

Really, what is the logical argument for not having more options? If you don't want to use them, then don't use them. That's why they're options, which are optional. And before you say "The time they spend on this..." They already spent time changing the detail that we want an option for. They've already 'wasted' their time on actually forcing something onto the players that at least 3/4 of those who care enough to come to the forums and participate in the poll wouldn't mind having the option to turn on or off for themselves. Just because it's something you don't care about doesn't mean it's a waste of their time. I hardly care at all about PvP, so to me every ounce of resources and every man hour put into any form of PvP is a 'waste of their time.' And yet I understand that it's a feature a lot of people enjoy and care about.

There is no logical argument for not having options, especially when it's an option to go back to the way something has worked since day one. People are smart enough to look through options menus if they want to, and figure out what options mean if they want to (tooltips have been a thing for quite a few years now and make it rather easy), or ignore them if they don't want to use them. Honestly, what is this nigh on allergic reaction to the very notion of having one more option in the game? There's an entire website full of add-ons that exist solely because players want more options. The only problem is that the add-ons can't give us options to turn off something like this.

It sounds more like public forums just aren't for you. Believe it or not, some people might have interests that aren't the same as yours. Shocker, I know, but it's true. Some people, hear me out here, might even have different priorities than you in terms of what they enjoy in a game! Like people who enjoy customizing their character to make them and their gear look just the way they want, the reason the outfit system was put into place to start with! Astounding!
