Announcement Popup needs to go

It is so large and it has a big empty space on the bottom, it made me think it was a bug from an outdated addon first. The popup at every relog is annoying as well.

Bad design (visually and user experience). The smaller version prior to Summerset at least fit in visually with the overall theme. This new ad screen is just obnoxious.

Like others have said, it shouldn't pop up every time you log in. Once a day per account is sufficient.

Tailoring the content to the account (i.e. not showing ads for Summerset if the account already owns Summerset), if technically possible, would be nice.

It's bad enough that it takes up the whole screen, but for it to appear every single time you login to a character is absolutely intrusive and annoying.

No Thank You! used to block the old Crown Store ads quite nicely. Sadly, author is long gone, and the person who picked it up, and a boatload of other addons, has also left the building.

It should not be too hard to make one. I just don't feel motivated enough to do it. It is easier to just go play other games.

Was going to say this. This is the communities own doing by not putting their foot down to begin with. They actually believed that giving ZOS an inch was not opening the door for them to try and take a mile. Because apparently people actually think these companies are their friends and that they can be trusted to make the right decisions on their behalf. Its pathetic and sad to see people blindly follow along with any decision a corporation, that has no loyalty to anyone or anything besides profit, makes.

Now they have intrusive ads and guess what....You all can suck it up. You gave them the room to push it this far. You can all deal with it.

Its annoying to have to deal with the popup 10+ times a day when swapping characters.

GET RID OF IT OR GIVE ESO+ SUBSCRIBERS AN OPT-OUT SETTING. YOU ALREADY HAVE OUR MONEY!

If it is for daily log in rewards, just make it popup for the first character they load into for the day instead of all of them.

No I didn't. I complained on the forums when they did the in-game messaging about Crown Items using the server status messaging service. I complained on the forums when they introduced the corner window. I am complaining on the forums about this now.

I never gave them a pass on any aspect of this, and I will not just deal with it.

I can understand seeing it on the first log in of the day (even though I don't like it since I've been paying for a sub since day 1), but on every single log in of every single character, it's really annoying and damages goodwill toward ZOS.

the announcement popups are really stupid. i'm playing with 9 characters and today i've been spammed with those ridiculous announcements at least 36 times. that's 36 times that zenimax tried to sell me a bunch of stuff that i already own and that ' can't even buy again. this is truly dumb. i hope they fire the imbecile on zos that had that stupid idea.

I was totally fine with this appearing once a week or when there was a big change in store contents. I will tell you, ZOS, what this is going to do. When I got them before, I would look through them to see what was new, because they only showed up because something was new. Now I will completely ignore them and as a result visit the crown store less often.

Im talking about the community in general. Not individuals specifically. Plenty of people demanded this be removed the first time it showed up. The community here ran to ZOS defense and acted like people were over reacting because they didnt want ads in their payed for game. Then the ads here on the forums were defended. Now we have this. And from my perspective. The community made this bed, they can lay in it now.

Pleas let the business folk know this is having opposite the intended effect on me. I kinda looked forward to my once a day reminder to peruse the store goods. As it is currently I don’t care - my first action is to hit alt as soon as the character loads to get that eyesore off the screen asap. As a result, I’ll probably be LESS informed about the Crown Store goods and much less likely to buy anything from it.

We've been complaining about the giant ad spam since it first appeared on test, and they ignored the feedback and sent it to live anyway. I think the greed has corrupted their common sense, and they aren't likely to change their minds since they've already had plenty of time to consider it. This isn't something new that magically appeared for the first time yesterday.

It has UI errors that are fixed via someone in the comments section of the addon
The fix for the UI errors is cosmetic in someways and breaks some functionality but the main stuff is still working.

I hate advertising in general. These large obtrusive ads I close immediately. As soon as my character loads I've pressed ALT to make it go away. Whatever it says, I don't care.

The smaller popup that was on the side was fine. I could look through it if I was interested in what was in the crown store. Now I don't care and will close it before it even has a chance to fully materialize on my screen.

Why am I paying $15 a month to get a giant popup ad every single time I log into the game? This is ridiculous.

I’d like to think the developers are handed these assignments from the marketing team and mutter under their breath how stupid it is... They just want to make the game; they don’t want to get their code all messy with ads.

For the last several months, I have increasingly felt like that is not enough for them. I subscribed to ESO Plus, giving them money every 6 months, and they just didn't seem satisfied.
