Honestly, I am still thinking they have another game in the works. I think they are experimenting with different ways to monetize their new game and are using ESO as the test bed to see how different ideas work. A lot of people wanted Crown item gifting, and I think they want to work out the details with ESO so they can have that in their new game on launch day.

One does not simply...switch MMOs. I'm not buying the new one. Don't need another Destiny 2 situation.

I never heard of anyone wanting to have gifting. I barely want to purchase overpriced crowns for myself... why would I ever consider gifting anyone else?

You are right. I have no idea if "a lot of people" wanted it. Enough people wanted it, and it fits their (presumed) plan to become the first F2P game that you have to buy. Reason enough to do it, right?

Everybody take your complaints to Reddit and other online forms. If enough people start threads that they can't control and they start getting flamed across the net they might have to respond.

All they do here is consolidate threads and keep them on topic. That hurts the thread starter more than anyone else. I think there is as much free speech here as there is on the Reddit. Interpret that as you will, but if you want my opinion, neither place is the place you are looking for.

I think that we should keep this thread going constantly for as long as it takes for them to relent and get their stupid login ad out of our faces. I should NOT have to install an addon for one single popup. Every addon I install further degrades the quality of my game either by adding resource strain or not playing nicely with other addons, and to have to put in an addon just to get rid of a ridiculous, broken-feeling intrusion is beyond absurd.

The lack of any word from them on this feels like it could be an attempt to ignore us until we give up and go away. So let's not.

Don't hold your breath. Look at what happen to the cheating and exploits thread...nineteen months, 2.7k replies, 230.9 views with no feedback from ZOS and they just shut it down for the second time. They don't want to talk about what they don't want to talk about.

I've been playing less since the pathetic crown discount sale and now the ad on every character load. I've really enjoyed this game, have invested time and money in it, and really don't want to look for another. But, it's becoming irritating to train horses and run crafting writs. Here's hoping they drop the ad to once per account per day or that someone makes an add-on that blocks the ad after you get your daily reward. In the meantime, I counter spam tech support once per day per account to remind them that the ad is appearing far too often... must be a bug... I'm just sure of it.

Zos keeps trying to sell me the Summerset expansion that i already own, more than 30 times a day - this is totally sick. it's worst than the viagra mail spam of the 90's.

at this point i'm not even aware of the new announcements because i already got used to click "alt" at launch to close that stupid black screen.

i'm an ESO+ subscriber and i own every dlc on the game. i'm getting tired of this ad abuse and i'm now willing to stop supporting this game.

The pop up works well when there is something actually new to tell me.

It doesn't work when I start day dreaming of ways to make it go away as I log into and out of my alts on a daily basis.

I wouldn't be surprised for an addon to be made that makes the pop up window immediately close.

For those on PC, there are several addons now that automatically block Z0$'s advertisements.
It's becoming alot like popup blockers or ad-blockers.
You just have to work around it.

It's been said, but I'll add my vote.

I don't mind them advertising for in-game items. It's a business, there are ads. Fine.

I LIKED the old window that popped up ONCE for new things. I wanted to see what was new without being glued to forums or reddit.

I never hid the announcement (even though I use No, Thank you) - really, I did like it!

This massive, non-stop barrage that isn't just letting me know about something new like an announcement would? I updated No, Thank You, and squelched it as soon as I could.

ZOS - I was pleased with your ads before, now I'll never see them. This is what is happening with many, many others. Sorry

I think they are referring to the popup on logout that now tells you about how long it will be before you can claim your next "daily reward".
