They might. Anything is possible.

If this was a simple mistake, it could have been out for the first patch. Since it was not, we have to assume that this was either intentional, or a major oversight that became intentional. Now that they are fixing it, and apparently spending some time doing it, I have to ask whether it is really worth it. Is this the direction they really want the game to go? Is this the sort of information that they want people to see about the game immediately when the log in? Does the benefit of this panel really meet the amount of trouble, angst, and development cost that it is causing?

Just remove the panel. It'll be OK.

Based on the poll in another thread that shows more than half of the respondents are viewing the crown store less because of the annoying giant ad, I hardly think it's in their best financial interests to maintain it as-is. But ultimately, it's the bottom line for ZOS that will determine it's fate, not how most players feel on the matter.

I think this thread can close. It's apparent the option is going to remain and addons can hide it so I think it's moot. One does have to remember to manually go to the reward list and claim it there though.
