Guys theres a solution you dont see.

    PRESS ALT.

Good fix while they remove it eventually.

Let’s hope the author of “No, thank you!” can get rid of it. At least for PC.

NO. No compromises. No alternatives. When ZOS added small ad window first time, there was division in player opinions but most agreed that it is fine as long as it wasn't intrusive.

    Now look what we've got.

Compromises are not working. You shouldn't agree for temporary measures. This is obnoxious and should be removed

I saw the same thing in the crown store, as Chapter would constantly be lit up with "new things" even though the pre-order time frame is many weeks. I imagine it's just priority. Marketing & Sales seem to drive companies, not ultimate user product value.

These are extremely annoying,,, and we should not HAVE to press ALT to get past something that shouldn't be there in the first place. just to be able to play the game. Once a day would be fine, but over and over and over again all day long is really annoying and excusing obnixious behavior with "you can just hit alt and ignore it" is not an answer to this kind of invasive garbage. Come on ESO, show a little class!

Sadly, having said this, I don't hold out a lot of hope that ESO will listen.

Once a day on one character is plenty.

Advertising spam like this is more likely to put me off from buying, rather than encouraging it.

How many characters do you log into per day?

Honestly, when it was a weekly thing (whenever the crown store updated), it was fine. You'd be like "oh, I wonder what's new".

Now we won't even look at it before we hit ALT. So it's both annoying AND ineffective.

And I agree with others who say that it's particularly grating that it's offering me a product that I already purchased while I'm standing in it.

I do writs on 11 characters and seeing this 11 times in a row is really obnoxious.

I would be fine with it if it was once per day, but in its current state it's doing more harm than good.

I don't want rid completely, but my god is it annoying whenever I change characters or relog. Once a day on first log in is fine for me, though if I had the option to turn it off entirely I would XD

Every single time logging into a character regardless of how many times that day we have logged into it is a bit much. Even daily for the same things would be to much.

It's lazy, it's pandering, it's insulting, and it gets in my way - it diminishes my appreciation for the company AND it's product
I bought Summerset because I enjoy the game and I'm already something of a borderline compulsive completionist - this ad space actually causes me a small amount of regret for having funded ZOS, which is the OPPOSITE of what advertising should make you feel if it wants to compel me to buy something I wouldn't have bought otherwise...

get better ad execs!! Ones with more than an advertising 101 mentality, with the ability to understand the value of reaching their consumer base and changing minds with an eye towards positive long-term buying habits

I appreciated the old way when, the first time you logged in for the day, the crown store pop up came up IF there was something new. I relied on that to note new items there.

The current situation is not good. Everytime you change characters really turns off customers instead of entices them. And I now have no idea when something new is added so the previous utility is gone. The problem with this severe overkill is that people become blind to it and their fingers simply develop the habit of blindly hitting the 'go away' key every time they log in or change characters. The popup now is as meaningless to established players as blindly auto clicking through all the game's opening credits every time you log in.

Basically, the current arrangement is irritating to players and counterproductive if the objective is to draw business the crown store.

I strongly urge a return to the situation before yesterday's update. :)

Good summary of how this ESO strategy has FAIL written ALL over it!

I rarely post on these forums, ESO gets a sustantial amount from me monthy, NOT including the sub fee, and I WAS happy to support a game I love. Yesterday, after perpetual advert's, I serious was rethinking financing this kind of (hmmm how to be polite when it's NOT deserving???) .......... CRAP, and just packing up my credit card and going HOME!

Agreed with all. Needs to go or be one time when you first log in.

I was switching between multiple characters yesterday and it came up...every...single...time!!! So yeah, this is quite an obscene way to say you need money ZoS.

Please, just once a day per account. I don't need to see it every time I switch characters...Especially when I'm constantly logging in and out of my characters redistributing gear.

I do love the fact that 2h now counts as 2 slots. I just need to make sure my DW and S&B items are part of the same set.

I saw this monstrosity on the PTS a few times, but I figured it would be more polished before it hit the live server. Kind of naive on my part, as most of us know that once new features or changes hit the PTS, they are more than likely there to stay.

    Here's my beef with it:

    1) It's far too big. Maybe it works for console players who might be playing on a TV 5-10 feet away, but I'd guess that 90% of the PC/Mac playerbase is playing far closer to their screens. It feels like sitting in the very front row of a movie theater.

    2) Too many slides. Right now there are literally 10+ slides in there as I recall. Only the most masochistic players will sit through/click all of these items more than once. Tighten it up and only put the premiere items, or consolidate some of them (like the XP and potion starter packs) into single slides and then link to the Crown Store category. Too many websites do this tactic of overstuffing their front page sliders/carousels with info slides that most users just ignore.

    3) Frequency - this is the big one. It is absurd that this appears on each and every character upon login. It makes tasks like feeding horses, crafting writs and moving inventory around between characters even more annoying. I found the earlier system of popping up when there was a new update much better and I would actually check it out. You even got an impulse buy or two out of me over the years with this tactic, and the window was far smaller and manageable on the screen. With this new UI window, I am simply annoyed and will close it immediately.

Please overhaul this clunky, hamfisted appeal for cash shop purchases, and most importantly, allow the players to disable it and/or just make it appear once per day.

Maybe they should add a toggle as an ESO+perk. I mean of course it should just be once a day for everyone, because its the reasonable thing to do, but the number one reason people typically subscribe to things is to skip the advertisements.

Couldn't agree with this post more. I really didn't mind it showing once a day, or when something new was introduced, and as with what poster mentioned, I too would sometimes buy, and even appreciate the heads up IF it were informing me of something new. THIS however does NOTHING but put me off buying, as the point three mentions.

PLEASE ESO!!! get rid of this asap,,,,,,,,,,, for the sake of your player. I'll even buy the option to delete this piece of garbage marketing... through the crown store (joking! ... or maybe not???)

Totally agree. If theyre set on this, having it pop up once a day is tolerable. But having it pop up upon every login makes it feel like im logging into a Free to play game with a cash shop.
