    I disagree. I think ZoS really needs to look at the reality of it.

    People are PAYING to get jewelry crafting. They are EXPECTING to get something similar to the three motif crafts - and why shouldn't they? It has been the design method for crafting for a long time.

    Instead, they are going to have another layer added (grains) for no good design reason AT ALL and having some things taken away (research two items and hirelings).

    I can't wait to see the serious uproar ZoS is going to be dealing this when this goes live. Remember, they are trying to sell Chapters once a year now. Getting people to pay for something and then giving them something that is frustrating and makes them angry is NOT doing yourself any favors for selling future Chapters.

    Some will say they wrote an article (many players don't read them). They are expecting what I wrote above, so the real question that needs to be answered is WHAT was the design reasoning behind making jewelry crafting such a tenuous grind and taking away things common to the motif crafts (which it mimics)?

    You know, you can whine and moan about this until the end times. Ever since the PTS landed, there have already been many long threads about this. If ZOS wanted to completely scrap the 1/10th part system and completely remake the skill line from scratch - they would have done so by now. Since they haven't, it's pretty safe to conclude that that is not going to happen, no matter how much wishful thinking.

    So now we can either keep whining and moaning about this and expect the impossible, or we can actually come up with ideas that are possible and would alleviate some of the issues, like I have done with this suggestion here.

    Keep repeating that the whole system sucks and that they should remake it, is doing nothing, other than collecting likes.

    Also, /if/ they actually implement higher droprates from temper parts like I have outlined here, the grind isn't really that long. Research is only on 2 items, and the base mats and trait mats are no big deal. The real bottleneck is the tempers.

    Jewelcrafting NEEDS to be a grind.

    Therefore Jewelcrafting is a grind, live with it, or better yet.
    Dont bother with it so I can sell my jewerly for even more!

    Good luck. The amount of time needed to make one ring is huge. Have fun farming for the next two months with nothing to show.

    Dont worry, ZOS will make it much easier to learn once the first group of players who refuse to use the crown store for a boost have it mastered. They are not going to change anything until you actually have several master jewelry crafters in game.

    We are sure that it is deliberately designed this way. However this design has a very strong message from the devs: "we don't want you to craft jewelry".

    This. It basically feels like they knew they needed something extra to sell Summerset as a chapter, so they decided to add this. But then again they really don’t want us to craft anything decent anytime soon, so they made it super grindy...
