High Latency & Disconnects

Sporadically over the last two weeks, I have been experiencing unusual lag spikes followed by disconnects with no error codes. Traceroutes seems to indicate issues with the Akamai system. Is there anything support can do about this? Is anyone else experiencing this?

ETA: Currently, barely able to log in to a character, take two steps, and get kicked out. Error 108 and 200 upon attempting to log back in.

I did some research a while back and what I came up with is that Akamai is their DDoS protection which they implemented some time ago and you can no longer reach their servers via a ping or trace route so there’s actually no way to know where the problem lays. I think it might only apply to people connecting from outside the server country but I’m not sure. Anyway there’s no way around it I don’t think. As I’ve suggest to others, if you play overseas or very far from the server you might try Mudfish VPN. It helps me streamline my path and stabilize my gameplay from SE Asia a lot. But, if there’s some trouble along the way sometimes nothing will help. But Mudfish is pay as you go and cheap so you can try it out.

Weekends are worst for me . Was disconnected 3 times in PvP and logged out for the day . So yes , having issues too .

13ms on hop1 says your gear is the issue. wifi would only be about 4ms. ethernet <1ms

Was there ever any information on what we can do about Akami? I’m getting like 350 ms to 500 ms on a tracert when it gets to the akami hop.
