Unfortunately Perth in western Australia is the most isolated city in the World... the new Dreamliner aircraft from Perth to London now can fly direct and takes 17hrs.

Great beaches & weather etc. in WA but so far from anywhere. We are apparently getting better national broadband in the next couple of years, but it is fibre to node, then copper from node to house. Not perfect, but hopefully better than it is now.
Would love to see how this game plays sub-100 latency! Would open up a heap of possibilities for me.

This thread is really fun!! Everyone here is arguing because want a good place to play a nice PVP.

For what i can see everyone here are old players in this game right? So why not trying to make some move and changes so we can have a nice enviroment to play?

Ok, where to start.. i will start off with saying i have no idea if Gab is a boy/girl man/woman, but ive heard rumours gab is a he so im going with that.

Now onto the definition of prime time:-

"Prime Time: noun. The hours, generally between 8 and 11 p.m., usually having the largest audience/participants of the day."
So OUR prime time is 8-11pm... YOUR prime time is 8-11pm... because the world is a globe (flat earthers dont freak out, i know its hard to accept) YOUR prime time and OUR prime time do not match up.. Gab, when its dark in the usa its daylight in australia and vice versa (that means the other way around <wink>). I know, I know, its a hard concept to grasp but you really must try to understand that the world revolves around the SUN, and not you.

I have scoured the ESO website, forums, fan sites and everything i could find eso related and no where does ZOS officially state that the game has a server prime time for playing. Its an urban legend constructed by eso playing narcissists like Gab in order to facilitate their own importance. So we play at OUR prime time, which is 8pm-11pm AUSTRALIAN TIME

So are we all now sufficiently educated as to what prime time means? Good. Lets move on.

We are a new guild (6mths old) and alot of our players dont even have cp toons yet, if all our members had cp160 toons we could possibly go play in Sotha and flip it gold thus leaving Gab a happy camper and free run of the map to himself and his pugs.. which I suspect is all Gab wants, free reign without interference, and an uncontested map, (here's a hint, go play battlegrounds if you small scale pvp fights, this is a war game, and we are playing it as the devs intended) though when its blue, i dont know what he plans on doing. Why else would Gab be bitching about us not playing "server prime time" and not playing "server prime time" himself. If "server prime time" is so important to Gab, why isnt he playing between 8pm and 11pm his time? Maybe he just isnt good enough. Things that make you go hmmmmm

Anyway i digress, .... As we are a teaching/progression guild, 70% of our members are new players to the game and dont have cp160 toons, so that kinda leaves sotha and shor out of the running for the most part. So our decision is made: Kyne it is!

So you see, there are many reasons why we choose kyne 80% of the time. We play sotha during usa prime time, as we have members in our guild who are on during the usa evenings, but the aussie members are busy at work and school during the week. On the weekends however we can be found in sotha or bg's during the day if we are not needed in Kyne. Mind you I have a feeling Gab expects our members to take a note to their teachers/bosses from mum saying they need 4 hours off at lunchtime to play eso because the mericans have their narcissistic noses out of joint that we play eso after we get home. Honestly, your position is such a fail, i need 3 hands for the facepalm.
On the subject of us logging out when people are starting to log in... i hate to break it to you hun, but around 2am our time when you mericans are logging in, WE ARE BLOODY TIRED after being online for the past 6 hours.. so um yeah, sorry, its not about you, its about our bedtime. <facepalm> .. like now as im writing this, its nearly 3am, instead of doing what DC should do and take nik or roe, Gab and his gaggle have followed us over to chal and are now team purpling us against EP, keeping in mind that half our players are new, only been pvping for under 3 mths and by the sounds of it, gab is fairly experienced, so teaming up on them in a learning zone is most distasteful imho, but the point is its 3am and im ready for bed and i just dont have the brain cells left to deal with team purple, let the day shift handle them.

So I think we have the whole time zone thing thrashed to death now yes?. Hope this clears that all up. It probably doesnt, but you cant fix stupid.
Next is something that nearly everyone who is agreeing with Gab is confusingly missing the point on... Cyrodiil is not pure PvP.. its AvA .. its an alliance war campaign, see that word there.. "campaign". You all seem to think that we want to 1v1 everyone... um no, we dont.. we enjoy the campaign in its entirity. Cyrodiil is not pvp dueling, its not pvp tournaments, its a game of strategy, tactics and points. We play to win the campaign, the CAMPAIGN.. you see Gab, we dont care about moment to moment pvp wannabe duelists, our goals stretch into the entire week.

If you and others who complain about Cyrodiil and the campaign playstyle, dont like it, you should go to battlegrounds, or better yet, Hammerdeath Arena and pvp there, send Zos emails about making Hammerdeath arena a pvp zone like cyrodiil but without all the seige, just player factions so everyone can just beat each other to death. Its just an idea.. but maybe it will give you something do to other than whining to us about how we like to play.

You mentioned about why we didnt come to you at Nik that night, well its called strategy.. and a little bit of trolling, we deliberately didnt come, nik was not important to our over all goals that night, as I pointed out in whisper, we needed points for the campaign, not personal AP gain, and at the time, nik didnt need to be flipped yet. Plus there was the bonus of knowing you guys were there and chomping at the bit for us to come to you, which we deliberately did not, knowing you would be salty about it. Your mention of it and whining about it confirms that I was right and that I know you better than you think I do lmao.

As mentioned we are a teaching/progression guild, so playing kyne is kinda essential when you have beginners in your guild. We are teaching them how to seige, teaching them the correct way to take keeps, how not to agro guards, how to take the pins, when and where to use various skills, we cant do that in sotha or shor, not only due to the faster pace of the game in those campaigns, but also because our new players dont have cp160 toons.
We dont play vivec because of the lag as Muzza said, we dont play EU because the ping is ten times worse for most of us than the NA server. As it stands, i play at 290 - 400 ping every night, when we take a keep and hit the flags, Im usually cruising at 500 ping with 15 fps.. when i get hit by certain skills my toon freezes and i am almost always perma cc'd.. its fun let me tell you.. and people wonder why we use siege.. most times its all we can do.. well for me it is at least.

And last but not least, if the map is Blue in kyne at 8pm aussie time and we dont go play in kyne, tell me what exactly is it that you and your pugs are going to do Gab? If its all blue, you cant earn ap and you cant earn campaign points. Are you going to do a skyshard run? Is that what your upset about? you want to get all the skyshards and cant when we are on? hey just whisper me, we will escort you to all the AD shards

A dead map means that YOUR alliance owns the map, not that another faction owns the map... I think you got a little confused there hun.
Do you see the idiocy in what you're saying? the map is dead for you if DC own it... if EP or AD own the map then its not dead for you, you have lots to do and lots of AP to earn and lots of campaign points to win for your Alliance.

On the other hand, you also whine about the map being Gold and having to flip stage 5 keeps...what a load of bs Gab, that is what we do every single night, log in after dinner, map is blue or red, has been that way for hours, everything from blackboot to dragonclaw is a 5.. what to do what to do... we do what the game intended.. we put our big boy and girl pants on, roll up our sleeves and get to work without whining about it.. it is what it is.. its like that every day for us.. maybe you should come play AD at 5am your time and see what we are talking about.
So lets recap shall we?

1. Zos does not have an official "prime time" for its game
2. We play in kyne because we are teaching new members how to play (OMG i just realised, thats EXACTLY what kyne is for.. fancy that!)
3. We dont play the other campaigns for many reasons and we do play other campaigns at other times depending on availabilty and guild needs
4. We dont play eu server as the ping and lag is worse
5. No one actually knows what Gab wants including Gab
6. Go play battlegrounds if you want small scale pvp, Cyrodiil is large scale warfare.

and lastly...

Build a bridge and get over your self, we paid for this game like everyone else, our money is just as good as yours, and we will damn well play how and where and when we like and if you dont like it........ WELL IT SUCKS TO BE YOU!

I don't remember the last time I dropped below 60 fps. Back in the old Azura's Star days I'm guessing. When that was THE place to be.

Emily I'll be on anytime you want, I think you and I can do some damage.

It's so nice to see so many fellow Aussies even if you are mostly AD and don't even start me on the whole latency issue and I don't play in Vivec because I am quite simply not good enough and of course the latency.

I also have several chars on EU side but unfortunately the lag is no better.

It's true DC is in a World of pain right now and correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's also just a cycle, we'll be back to our rightful 1st place before you know it.

Poor Gabe, you went and burnt yourself out, I can relate. And Gabe although you annoy the &^%$ out of me most of the time what you do for DC is priceless. It's noticed and appreciated, thank you.

I also agree faction swapping is a disgrace and should be locked at least for the duration of the campaign.
