I had the luck to find a new purple furnishing plan in a backpack at the landing at Shimmerene. So they exist. One must be aware that the new ones are also called high elf... so can be misinterpreted as old ones due to the similarity in naming... I also hope desparately that the droprate isnt that ridiculously low like the morrowind / ayleid / dwemer plans. Its just a pain in the ass if you want to complete your recipe collection.

Not only will these recipes take forever to find, or cost 500k per recipe at your nearest guild trader, I also see that ZOS went the way of requiring 2 pieces of Culanda Laquer motif stones for a tiny lamp. You know, those motif stones that you only get a random chance at receiving by doing the zone dailies. Expect to see a large demand for these. At least the Vvardenfell recipes mostly required old Obsidian style mats, which can be bought in endless supply.

Summerset Isle? More like SummerGrind 2018, your new full time job.

This is good news for those of us who make a living from selling rare plans. My income took a big hit with the introduction of purple furnishing plans to the writ voucher vendor. I, for one, welcome scarcity, and hope there is sufficient time for the entitled crowd to complain before they eventually put the new plans on the vendor. ;)

While there will still be the e-billionaires who will buy these at the jacked-up prices, I have a feeling many more will wait for the furnishing documents rather than lining the pockets of the entitled plan farmers.

Well, after a few hours of stealing after the latest patch, and around a hundred victims ranging from beggars to nobles relieved from their possessions... I can tell that the drop rate of anything significant is quite low. I would say, non existent. Because I didn't get any kind of recipes, plans, motifs whatsoever

Also, I was thieving in Alinor, Relenthil, Shimmerene.
And Shimmerene still has a lot of unkillable by Blade of Woe NPCs

I suppose stealing from crafters would yield better results with furnishing diagrams pickpocketing as usual, but every place I found with decent amount of crafters is quite hard to pick.

That's very disappointing. However, I do believe most furnishing recipes usually come from containers, such as stolen from nightstands, cupboards and such, as well as lockboxes. What they said in the last pts patch notes was that /when/ you got a recipe, the odds of getting one from the DLC areas was much higher than before, where most recipes would be generic ones from base zones. So perhaps we should test if this is the case, from the recipes we actually are able to steal/loot?

Yep, but patch notes specifically mentioned that they have added some valuables in the pockets of Summerset citizens. So I was hoping that they added some valuables, that weren't available previously, but I suppose they just made more NPCs available for pickpocketing (? or what, I am not sure I found any changes in drop tables, maybe a bit more purple treasure items, thats all).

And, well, it looks like pickpocketing in Summerset is quite pointless... In the mainland we have pickpocketing quests, in Morrowind we have motif pages available from pickpocketing... But what do we have in Summerset? I couldn't find any significant reason to pickpocket there (and pickpocketing seems even less appealing since there are still non-story NPCs that won't let you pickpocket them). Except for the slim chances of getting recipe, it really makes no sense to pickpocket anybody in Summerset. Especially when stealing from lockboxes is going to be more profitable (I guess?) or just running dungeons.

I just wonder if ZOS thinks that horde of players killing NPCs is immersion-breaking (which it is). But if this was the main reason for ZOS to neglect pickpocketing like this, well, then maybe they should prevent Blade of Woe kills giving legerdemain drops in the first place?

Morrowind did not add the motifs until later after it had been out awhile. The same will happen with summerset I bet.
