New furnishings, recipes, plans?

I've been stealing, I've been looting, I've been harvesting since the PTS started up. I haven't found a single new recipe, or furniture plan, or clam furnishing. Are these just not implemented in the current iteration? Or are they just stupid rare? Has anyone found any Summerset/Artaeum furnishings/recipes/plans?

There's a merchant right as you port to Artaeum that has Psijic plans; your ability to buy them is dependent on how leveled you are in the psijic skill line.

So after much, MUCH more stealing/looting/harvesting, I still haven't come across a single new recipe or furniture plan from the Summerset map. Can we at least get a definitive "they are/aren't implemented on the PTS yet" from the devs? @ZOS_GinaBruno?

I haven't seen any beyond the buyable Psijic plans and Writ voucher clock either, though I will note I haven't been hunting for them.

I think it's safe to assume that the new Summerset and Jewelrycrafting plans will be as rare/nonexistant as the Vvardenfell and CWC ones, despite all the negative feedback given to ZOS over these extremely grindy systems.

They didn't even bother including in patch notes which recipes you can get where. Will you be able to get the new paintings? Where do the new jewelrycrafting recipes drop from? What else can you steal/loot in the new zone?

Even the lack of info says plenty about what they prioritize, and clearly giving us some info about where to find the recipes isn't among them.

I wouldn't even bother with the new recipes until 10 months from now, when we get them in voucher documents - maybe.

I spent several hours stabbing every NPC, picking every lockbox and looting every container I could find. I only found vanilla furnishing plans. However, they have been implemented as someone I asked in zone chat had found a purple Summerset pattern in a backpack (which they linked).

Sorry for getting all cynical, but it i guess they will be as rare as the vvardenfell ones (without being able to buy documents with writs) so that everyone who wants to go furnish the new houses come next patch will have to go to... dum dum dum... the crown store \o/

On a positive note, it's why i never expected them to release another way of acquiring them and i sure am grateful we can now get vvardenfell furnishings from the master writs vouchers!

It would be nice if they would just implement the summerset vouchers immediatly but i guess they can't ignore the thousands of dollars some people will spend on the crown panel if they don't :(

I had the luck to find a new purple furnishing plan in a backpack at the landing at Shimmerene. So they exist. One must be aware that the new ones are also called high elf... so can be misinterpreted as old ones due to the similarity in naming... I also hope desparately that the droprate isnt that ridiculously low like the morrowind / ayleid / dwemer plans. Its just a pain in the ass if you want to complete your recipe collection.

Not only will these recipes take forever to find, or cost 500k per recipe at your nearest guild trader, I also see that ZOS went the way of requiring 2 pieces of Culanda Laquer motif stones for a tiny lamp. You know, those motif stones that you only get a random chance at receiving by doing the zone dailies. Expect to see a large demand for these. At least the Vvardenfell recipes mostly required old Obsidian style mats, which can be bought in endless supply.

I found (stole) a jewelry furniture plan from a cupboard. Did not have the mats to craft it though.
I'll post a screenshot of the item when I can.

I guess it's a good thing that we really only get one house to put these new furnishings in (plus the free inn room). The boat doesn't count, to me, since you could really furnish it with any number of styles. There is the Ayleid ruin part, which you could put Ayleid furnishings in, but the boat itself doesn't seem to necessarily be Altmer, at least to me.

I was expecting the furnishing plan drop rate to be as bad, if not worse, than MW. But, I wasn't expecting the need for ultra rare style mats to make anything. Hopefully, this is just for purple plans, and greens, or even blues, won't require such hard to get mats. Although, if MW is anything to go by, there won't be many green plans and most will be purple. Ugh! The new furnishings are beautiful, but no way I'm going to the CS to buy individual pieces, and the prices at guild traders will be much higher than MW furnishings, due to the scarcity of the mats needed to make anything.

I guess the extreme rarity of plans in MW wasn't enough to drive enough people to the CS, now they're throwing ultra-rare mats into the mix.

To be fair though, if one is super patient and wait for a year, there is a small chance that summerset recipes would be put in hlaalu writ envelope, like with MW. It's now much more easily and enjoyable to find MW, just need a master crafter and you're set. But yeah, for the beginning at least, i expect to find no recipes at all and refuse to buy at 500k price. If only the green and blue ones have a reasonable drop rate...

Sure, but I'm not interested in plans given to template characters, becsue in the live server, we don't get template characters with all the plans given to them. I'm trying to figure out rough plan drop rates to determine whether we're dealing with another Vvardenfell droprate debacle (which currently, the signs point towards.)

This is good news for those of us who make a living from selling rare plans. My income took a big hit with the introduction of purple furnishing plans to the writ voucher vendor. I, for one, welcome scarcity, and hope there is sufficient time for the entitled crowd to complain before they eventually put the new plans on the vendor. ;)

Scarcity also shrinks your market, because lots of the collectors can't afford the exorbitant prices. In a game where most people have less than 100k gold, 15k is an indulgence but 500k would take weeks to save up.

Speaking for myself, I made much more gold per week from selling purple plans in Homestead than I did in Morrowind: the increased cost for purple envelopes plus the awful Morrowind drop rates pushed prices up, and a lot of us buyers out of the market. Instead of selling 5x plans for 15k gold each per week, I sell maybe 1x 20k gold per week in a vendor slot I could instead be using for higher-profit items.

I have my fingers crossed that the drop rate changes announced this week will make a difference (since 10*0.01% is still less than 1%).

So far, even with the updated patch notes I haven't looted any new recipes or furniture plans in Summerset, although I did snag a giant clam furnishing out of a clam node.

I will disagree with this, as I never had a problem selling the purple Vvardenfell plans for 500k+. Your statement is true in theory, but considering that only 5-10% of the players own half (or more) of the in game currency, it was the e-billionaires who were buying them up. And I had people snatch up the plans I listed for six figures and flip them for 100k more. Market speculation is very profitable in ESO..... even though 95% of the actual players are not involved.

See, I'm in the exact worst spot to be in regarding plan collecting. I'm seven plans away from knowing all the currently ingame ones, but I'm definitely not an "e-billionaire"; tbh I don't remember the last time I was above 2mil.

I think this time around, just due to financial necessity I'm going to have to sell the first batch(es) of Summerset plans that I find rather than learn them (which breaks my heart), since I don't have the funds to buy any other plans I need. :(

I have a question for those on the pts.

Is there any areas like the ancestral tombs where alot of urns can be looted? or maybe places with lots of backbacks and other containers?

I felt like they added those for us cause they knew how bad the droprate is so it was a small mercy to have a place to loot alot from.

Has anyone found anything similar on summerset?

I mean, there seems to be a decent amount of urns in the ruins for the most part, but after looting around on the PTS, I haven't found a single new plan from them. In fact, after looting and stealing and pickpocketing for a good bit on the PTS, I haven't found a new plan anywhere.

Well, at least Alinor has a couple of lockpickable houses with couple of lockboxes and several NPCs + containers. There's one house with a cook, noble, merchant and servant NPC + 2 lockboxes (advanced and intermediate). I haven't checked other locations for packrat activities. It'd be interesting to know if there is good farming locations and what furnishing recipes are there. At least I'm happy that we now have a proper craftable fences to make some buildings. (Some use for the coldharbour surreal estate)

Can you specify the ruins please? I wasn't able to find a good place. There is a lot of urns (like 50+) during the first story quest, but 1. there are mobs all over the place 2. you cant access it after the quest! Which is just stupid.

    Pickpocketing
    • Many of the citizens of the Summerset isles were walking about with empty pockets. Their pockets are now heavy with valuables, so do them a favor and lighten their load if you get the chance.

I hope we get some decent things with this patch. Going to pickpocket a lot to see what valuables are in the pockets of unsuspecting citizens of Summerset

Plus, in previous patch notes they have increased drop rates of Summerset and MW plans, so there is still hope

Well, after a few hours of stealing after the latest patch, and around a hundred victims ranging from beggars to nobles relieved from their possessions... I can tell that the drop rate of anything significant is quite low. I would say, non existent. Because I didn't get any kind of recipes, plans, motifs whatsoever

Also, I was thieving in Alinor, Relenthil, Shimmerene.
And Shimmerene still has a lot of unkillable by Blade of Woe NPCs

I suppose stealing from crafters would yield better results with furnishing diagrams pickpocketing as usual, but every place I found with decent amount of crafters is quite hard to pick.
