I don't think I am breaking the NDA by telling folks to go look at YouTube for previews of the Alinor Townhouse. I know I am buying it, I already decorated it on the beta. It's EVERYTHING.

we all know about the townhouse, they showed it off before the pts patch even was put up.

also, people are asking for more small and medium size homes, that is not. its over a million to buy, its a large home.

Yes, I stand corrected, I have 600 slots on the PTS and the townhouse costs over 1 million.
Still, I think many people would complain regardless of what was given. How many post did we see about wanting a ship or a piece of Coldharbour for dueling? We wanted tubs, fireplaces, more glowing plants , fountains, even potted plants, we got them too.

Yes, we do need a new medium or small house. I love my Ald Velothi on Vvardenfell and was hoping for something similar in Summerset but I don't think it's coming.

It's not just in Summerset that we need them. As suggested in another thread, the Orc Longhouse would make an excellent small/medium home, and just doesn't exist yet. I'd also like to see the equivalent of the three House manors in Morrowind - maybe exactly those three - as medium homes.

I'd love more variety in homes sizes and styles. I have a large roster of characters and I'd like them to (eventually) each have their own, distinct home. Thus far I haven't purchased ANY because I'd start with my main and she's a simple Breton who likes simple things; good views, peace and quiet, some farm animals for company. Not too far from a town since she's a do-gooder and likes being where she can help people, but not smack dab in town either. Nothing fits the bill.

The bit I highlighted reminded me of one of my main complaints about the current housing. With a few exceptions, there's not a good balance between exterior and interior space. Many homes have no yard at all, and a lot of those are the medium ones.

Right, they've given some of the things people have asked for, but generally they go way overboard (in the case of the ship house, offering far more than just the ship so they could make it a limited-time giant monstrosity) or they only offer ONE item of the requested type, often in a size and style not suitable for many homes (the new fireplace, for example).

Though, in the case of the bathtub, they provided something that I think works well in most décor AND you can get it in-game!

Hopefully, with items such as the fireplace, it's the first of many to come.

Also, I asked for a Coldharbour HOME, not a barren patch of land. I'd much rather have had a house in the Hollow City, though I do think the Surreal Estate is a cool idea and hopefully, they'll offer more such options. However, in typical fashion, they offer this blank slate with very little in terms of building materials in order to build your own home. I know a few more building materials are being added with SS, but they are still confined to a particular cultural style or aesthetic. I don't recall any of the previews of these items looking particularly suitable for Coldharbour.

But...back on topic, I really would like to see them add more small/medium homes to the game. Even apartments in various cities, esp. in DLC zones. And, I was very disappointed that SS only has the free inn room, one large house, and a limited-time giant way-bigger than it needed to be boathouse.

please make a small "1 Room" "underground home"
for us thief rogue types and also:
please let it have a "hidden entrance"

please do not let it be an apartment, i want to buy it, not rent it. and please for only 250,000 Gold or less would be perfect cause i am not a rich man.

    please do this.

@dwemer_paleologist I've seen you mention this before, I think. Do you mean this from a strictly roleplaying POV? As far as I know, even apartments are actually just bought with gold once (but I only have the free ones). Would appreciate some clarification.

    To answer a few comments:

http://lovelynorth.com/achievementfurnishings/summerset/ The waterfall is an achievement furnishing you will be able to purchase (its the last one on the list, so you might have to scroll down)

I think the NDA only covers quest based things, not aesthetic items.

It is impossible to please everyone and they will always put out things that only make some people happy. In general I think they've done a great job. There is a ton of variety and I think lots of room to expand. I just would love to see more small houses since there hasn't been a single new one released since Homestead.

As for the stairs / fireplace and other structure style items, I think its just a matter of time before we get more in different styles. Like someone mentioned up here, it wouldn't make sense for them to release everything at once.

And I agree the Orc longhouses are cool and should totally be a home style

The only houses I am interested in are small and medium houses. Best value for money, convenient and better item count/size ratio.

So definitely a vote for more of those.

The medium house in Morrowind was fantastic value. Really disappointed we didn't get something similar with Summerset.

This. I am very unhappy about this. But I'm also unhappy that the only house we are getting in Hew's Bane, my fav zone for looks, is a giant, impossible to decorate adequately, and poorly designed monstrosity. I'd have LOVED something the same size as House of the Silent Magnifico with a nice sized balcony overlooking the bay. Indeed, something suited to Hew's in the same size as the upcoming Summerset townhouse. THAT would have been perfect.

Also, until they expand the item counts and the player caps... ALL of the 12 player homes should be bumped up to 24.

Oh and WHY did you give us a waterfall ZOS... with no corresponding pools for it to fall into???

I would of loved the ship house if it was simply that just the ship but they tacked on all this extra cave space just to make something cool into something super crazy expensive thing you have to spend tons of real life money on. Meaning I won't be able to get it. I prefer my small-medium sized homes. Even large can be ok but that is too much.

Any ship house has to be "walled off" from the common space, so you can furnish the deck, and not affect any view from the non-instanced areas. Hence the cave to reach it.

You can see stuff out the walls of the Cyrodilic Jungle house (the fence is wrought iron or something) so you can see the Trading Post beyond and actually see people move (or could last I looked because it's one thing I loved).

So I feel like a boat house could be done without needing giant walls, especially if they did an open water ship:
    1. Make it accessible via a small rowboat at a dock (get in the dock, port to boat, like Morrowind tutorial)
    2. Have it in slaughterfish water so people cannot swim directly to it.
    3. Tada - enjoy scenery of zone from your deck

That would be perfect! I would have no complaints here. But yeah there are plenty of homes that let you see the scenery of the zone.

Alinor town house looks small maybe medium size. Im happy that they added a home with summerset isles BUT to be honest i am not impressed with this home its small in my opinion. Why is it that some of the delves even the puplic dungeonin summerset (sunhold) has nicer areas then player homes granted its a much larger space i wouldnt expect the size of a delve or a puplic dungeon as a home but they sure get creative to make these places so many nice and cool looking ideas yet they seem to have trouble implementing this for the player i personaly like big homes notable homes as theres more room to play with. Summerset just came out so im sure there will be more to come manimarcos hideout delve i forgot the name of it has alot of cool ideas an areas in there too. Same thing with the furniture they added in some cool alinor marble style furniture yeah in the purchasable tab of home editors $$ awesome looking floor and walls good luck finding a diagram for these things though looking at the bright side you do find some furniture schematics and diagrams i found an alinor bowl yeeeyyyh just what i needed a bowl lol all im missing is the spoon now and i can have cereal

You don't enter the ship from the cave. You enter it from a rope ladder off the Alinor docks where you can see the side of the ship. They could do this from any of the zones with a port - even with existing ship exteriors. Just add rope ladder "door"

There was zero reason to add the cave except to boost cost, imo.

Actually the Alinor drop rate is rather not too bad. And the townhouse is large (1 mil) home. I'm only a few blues away from knowing all of them but I've been farming more than questing. Hopefully I can get my townhouse soon though :p:#

I just wish they new stuff didn't require crafting mats that drop from dailies only. I don't have that much time to farm those :|
