But it resets all your characters' Alliance Ranks (and Assault/Support lines) back to 0. So you can grind Caltrops over and over.
In all seriousness, if someone really wants to change alliance, there should be a way to do it (either via quest or token), BUT your alliance rank gets reset as you should not have rank that was gained by killing people from your new faction.The Moot Councillor1
