One time faction change

I have read the threats on this topic and still would like to post my thoughts.

I beleive a one time faction change, per charactor, would be a great bonus point of the game in its self.

First, it would be for the ESO Plus members only.

You would have a, pvp only, timer of 12 hrs blocking your ability to join a campaign, after a faction change.

In pve that would not be needed.

I know of quite a few people on the NA PC that would luv this ability.

The benefit of an alliance change token would be greatest for players who made characters before One Tamriel. I PVP solely as EP, but because my main DPS is a Breton who I made before One Tamriel, she will forever be a DC toon and sees very little use in Cyrodiil PVP.

However, ZOS has already provided the Any Race, Any Alliance upgrade for those who wish to use races outside of their traditional alliance. Naturally, this requires a new character to be made, thus increasing the playing time. So, I don't that ZOS will grant a Faction Change token any time soon.

Actually, no. Not in Cyrodiil PVP for one reason: you need a fast horse. The closer you are to max speed and max stamina on your mount, the easier it is to ride to fights in Cyrodiil which is a huge zone compared to any other zone. A new character has to either spend crowns to raise mount speed and stam quickly or spend 60+ days to get their speed maxed.

I agree with @VaranisArano s point, I was going to say there is no point to changing factions but I realized that honestly with or without elitism, in order to really play pvp you do need a fast mount with high stamina. I would say stamina is more important, with speed a close 2nd, so at least 3-4 months of mount training required in order to just keep up with a group.

As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

My thoughts on faction change remain unchanged...

...I would prefer if they made it a guild-sized DLC questline, with a "spycraft" theme, and a "loyalty called ini question" story, where you get to make a big choice - keep your character loyal and find the real traitor who framed you, or defect to a different alliance. With the rest of the quest different depending on your choice. You could even get nifty titles at the end... like "[original faction] Loyalist" or "[original faction] Defector"... and quite obviously, such a questline could not be repeated, so it would automatically be a "one time" change.

There could even be PvP effects... like, defectors only earning half AP for a couple months, and being worth triple AP if killed by their original faction, perhaps even a daily quest to hunt down a traitor, with a marker pointing them out for their former comrades on the battlefield while that quesat was active... you know, like...

As someone who doesn't live and breath PVP, I am not that much into the whole faction thing.

I rolled characters in all alliances before 1T because that was the only way to go through the different alliance quest zones before you reached Cadewells silver/gold.

I can see there would be people trying to take advantage of swapping factions, maybe swap from a bad alliance to a successful one for the spoils and such. To this end, any option to switch would have to be restricted to like once only, or once every 6 or 12 months.

A restriction on campaign participation could also be considered, so that you can't switch in the middle of a campaign to get any sort of advantage. People wanting to switch for valid reasons would be happy with these sort of restrictions.

It will come in time, for 5k crowns per character most likely, it is just a matter of time.

This happened in another game i played and tbh it destroyed it. Majority re-rolled to the strongest side like newbs which totally unbalanced the game. Doing this would force others who like to play as the underdog/actually PvP with some sort of skill not hugging a zerg which ESO caters to anyway to re-roll to the other side. A lot would quit rather than being forced to pay the crown charge to change alliance they never wanted to in the first place.

Rolling an alt, is very time consuming, i have 14 characters and i know. Mage guild books?, the thought melts my head thinking about doing it again.

Yes, a ONE TIME only change would be needed.
I have 2 characters pve only, they never entered ava location because I cannot change faction. When I started playing I wasn't aware it was impossible to change later on, I even thought "any alliance any race" would allow. By now they are fully leveled and not going to delete them, a one time change would be much appreciated.

Brilliant idea, except for the marker part. I'd love if defectors earned half AP for a couple of months (so long as it wasn't permanent) and were triple AP if killed by their original people.

Alliance change probably does not make good business sense. Zos already made it easy to level a new character and can probably make more $$$ from those willing to spend it on horse upgrades and XP scrolls.

Not counting all the achievements, zones explored and quest finished you may have done on an alt.

So the idea of re roll is not a option. @ZOS give us the alliance change token please.

Doesn't need to be ESO plus nor one time only, just make it a relatively expensive crown store item, and have it strip you of any alliance rank along with associated skill points.

If someone out there wants to waste a lot of money switching their alliance multiple times, I don't have a problem with it, as long as they are dropping back down to recruit rank each time, losing caltrops, vigor, etc.

I assume you mean those skills get blocked again until I reach the required PVP level without losing the progress I may have done with them (I already have morphed and maxed them).

Where, anywhere,... someone completely new to a game should know everything about? At any rate that's my personal case, there are other users with different motivations and none of these is your business, if someone want to change alliance it's not like you must approve.

About the rest, I do horses training every day and I'm still free to buy lessons if I like, whatever you think about.
Don't worry about my rng, it's obvious I still have fun playing this game despite the many flaws, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I don't know about you.

Back on topic... even if your posts are not worthy of a reply, I replied because your "on topic" was: "Get good", "play well" "discipline" and other nonsense in a thread like this; I won't do it further.

you guys dont like the decisions you made and want ZOS to fix your poor choices when they already give you a way to do that: alts.

It should've been done a long while ago. They also need to make everything account wide instead of just on your one toon...Blizzard did it and it worked great. The way this company does anything is an insult as hardly any of it is done for the benefit of the players.
