Comparative Analysis to Lobby for 5-second base duration on Acceleration

Here is the current list of benefits for the instant cast Acceleration morph nearly everyone would potentially use:

Major Expedition for 3 seconds, 50% sprint cost reduction for 3 seconds, Minor Force for 12 seconds, small dmg shield on block, small dmg proc after 5 Psijic casts.

Below is a list of analogous skills to the new Psijic skill "Acceleration" with passive boons included:

Quick Cloak - Major Expedition for 5 seconds and -25% AoE damage taken for 15 seconds, AoE physical damage for 15 seconds, bleed and enchant proc opportunity.

Double Take - Major Evasion for 26 seconds, Major Expedition for 4 seconds, 438 wpn/spell crit, 10% bonus crit dmg

Boundless Storm - Major Expedition for 7.5 seconds, AoE shock damage for 23 seconds, both armor buffs for 23 seconds, +2% spell damage, Implosion proc opportunity.

Bird of Prey - Major Expedition for 10 seconds, Minor Berserk for 10 seconds, Major Endurance for 10 seconds, +2% dmg done, 4 ultimate, +12% mag/Stam recovery

Speed Potion (with Medicinal Use passive) - ~47 seconds of Major Expedition plus two of several other available potion benefits, does not cost resources.

I made this list to hopefully show that the new Psijic mobility skill is in my opinion unnecessarily inferior to all the other options. In general I know ZOS likes to ensure that the in-class variants are stronger and/or more loaded than external skills, but in this case even Quick Cloak is vastly superior.

I believe Acceleration should provide 5 seconds of Major Expedition and 5 seconds of sprint cost reduction.

But I invite you all to give your thoughts - what do you think? Balanced? Underpowered? Potato?

Lets be honest, the 3 seconds of expedition were just so they could make it seem time related and justify the name "accelerate". The ability is actually there to fill the gap in magicka builds by giving them a source of minor force.

None the less, it does still seem silly to have it at only 3 seconds. Its essentially useless. Expedition is already not much of a combat buff, and with that low a duration its not actually doing anything. Right now nobody will actually use it for that buff. If they upped it to 12 seconds like the important part of the ability, it would actually be a somewhat nice addition.

Yeah I agree, 12 seconds of all 3 would be ideal but I'm basically grasping for any bone they will throw. 3 seconds is barely usable.

3 seconds of Expedition + Minor Force... not worth the skill slot.

I bet the majority of people are going to flock to the longer duration morph

The instant cast just does not do enough for the cost. I don't even think the OP's buff is enough.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Regarding that casting the longer duration morph slows you down a lot (for full casting time), it is not even that much benefit at all.
You cant use it to escape, since the slowdown while cast time will lead to exact the opposite and make it even easier for enemies to get to you. For escaping it has to accelerate immediatelly or at least not slow down. Also you cant animation/swap cancel it, if you wish the effect to occur.
And I cant think of any other use to major expedition, which works only unmounted. For PvP it takes one skill slot for just being a bit faster for a short time, here the profit does not match the cost. Even for harvesting mats I still favor rapids (much longer duration), even if it vanishes when starting combat.

So, pretty useless so far, at least for me.
    PC - EU
Primary: PvP: magSorc, magNB, PvE: DK Tank, Templar Heal
Secondary: PvP: magDK, Templar, PvE: Warden something

Yeah, I've played around with Acceleration and its morphs. I'm quite underwhelmed with it.

I bet almost everyone will use Insta morph but only in PvE PvP will keep away for the most part unless it last atleast 5 seconds

I tested both morph and the cast time one is worse it clunks up the whole rotation
