Hiho ~ New footage with my new build, come guess it even though its pretty obvious, ha!

Was not sure if to go with Lightning or Lighting, decided i light things up more than a thunder strikes them ~

Some fights were with my friend who has just started playing this game and was/is just barely 160CP. Dem Lethal arrows carrying my sad templar butt. Lul.

Enjoy! And as always... make templars look op!

Lightning staff with Overwhelming and Pirate. Is this in non-CP? Your stats look like it.

Lightning blockade + Overwhelming off balance builds are meta for magicka dueling right now -- they're the only builds which can compete with some of the top stam classes -- and magplar has been showing up well with that style build. Nice to see it in open world too. That's where the real challenge lies imo, especially for magplar. Good stuff dude.

I honestly think magplar is trash solo so kudos to you!

It looks like in a lot of those fights you could really benefit from having beam if you are able to find a spot for it. Maybe even a bigger stam pool too (or is this no cp?). Nice video though! I am happy to find that there are indeed people who play at lower fps than me. :p

    Oh and nerf sorcs.

Ya idk im on CP always, lower resources could be because of no Untaunted bonuses I believe, working on that :)

Ha that fps was because of the stream, not gonna do that anymore as I realized the video quality drops by too much. Gonna continue shadowplaying as I did before... and sit at 20-50fps, which for me is ok, ping often is not :D

That fight with the two sorcs is why I don't play magplar aymore. If you aren't built for max dmg 1 shot, then sorcs are near impossible to kill unless they are really bad. And they are just one example of things that are just too hard to kill on our class whilst solo'ing.

This. Not to mention it can be very tricky to go offensive and defensive at the same time on this class compared to others.

Thanks. I have never dueled outside of testing purposes and idk whats on meta there, but this is something that i had a lot of success with while soloing, both open field and while zerg surfing (yay blockade AP leeching). I have now also swapped PL with Dark Flare. I found that the highest i hit with PL is like 5k, so Flare can do it better, less reliably though :/

Idk i am full light which does not include impreg or fort brass. Killing targets is my current priority. Running an unkillable templar now is fairly easy and very rewarding and that will increase with the next patch.

I actually see very few wear overwhelming, only came across two personally. I’m more likely to see wizards, trans, earthgore, reactive etc. (in terms of noticeable sets) and typically the magplar is in heavy. The only time I even see/hear talks of ow is on the forums. A lot of people don’t know about this set yet, that or it’s simply overshadowed by the healbot meta. More likely to come across a Templar wearing a utility/mitigation set plus a sustain set.

It is on console though. Most of the build videos boast overwhelming and wizard lol.

Though most of the magplars haven't found the Ice staff/dual weld meta yet. Which is stronger, assuming you never use the snb Ultimate.

@Minno , will you be going ice staff and 2h with the next update? Seems pretty strong with access to forward momentum and elemental drain. Let’s you run speedpots for a fast magplar too.

Forward momentum won't save you from immobilze poisons which are considered a status effect. So I stopped running 2h. Swapped to dual weld with ice staff, and just dealt with using purge/dodge roll to escape. If you can get dodge roll cost low enough, that should be enough to run, considering forward momentum only gives you immunity while dodge roll will negate countless direct attacks to help make you tankier.

2pc staff/2h will be nice, but I don't think you'll be able to have two sets at once like dual weld let's you have. So it's tough to say without diving into pts and seeing what available.

Current LA changes and the clunkyness of our class suggests that destro staff is the way :)

Force pulse or masters destro+reach as a spammable look much more appealing since they’re more reliable than sweeps and the extra light attacks closed the damage gap with good weaving

Or Imbued Weapon for those sweet status effects. I expect either that or FP weaved with the newly powerful light attacks and Solar Barrage up will be stronger than Sweeps currently is.

    But what's a magplar without sweeps? :(

Maybe, I never liked how much everything is dodgable. And then when you get engaged by a melee build, your coming up with ways to land all those hits with the target running behind you.

I like my sticky burst and then filling in with sweeps.

Prefer DW and Frost also, although having defensive stance comes in handy at times with SnB.

Screw Strikes and mist form though, seems it would require more sustain than I care to kit for.

    Oh and interesting video.

I still do the standard Overwhelming/Wizards/Valkyn/VMA Restro back bar setup personally.

Next patch i'm swapping to Lightning Staff I think over DW, could also do Ice Staff I suppose.

Vma resto over Asylum SnB is a very interesting choice, would you care to elaborate on it?

I actually don't block that often to be honest.

I would love the S/B Ult though, won't lie about that.
