Dear good ZOS folks, would it be too hard for the good developers to change so we are able to mount when aggroed by an add or something? To me, it has been so annoying for quite a while, when you're out and about farming nodes, plants, chests, whatnots, (or just moving along) and a nearby add or adds begin to attack you. However, at times, you don't feel like fighting or messing around with them; you just want to farm things. It would be nice to be able to mount and ride off right then and there, instead of running afar enough until the aggro wears off. Same with entering/exiting things, would be nice to be able to do such instead of having to wait until the aggro wears off. What you all good ESO fans think?

    Yes. If we are to have such breezeball mobs, i'd rather be able to skip them outright. It often takes longer to get out of combat and back into nodes/mount than it does to kill the 2 hit ***.

    Yes definitely. If I want to get killed in the middle of mounting up that's my *** business. Same with switching skills, weapons, or poisons

    No thanks, in fact they should greatly increase the detection range when a node is being actively used. Make it a little more challenging than just running in and running off.

    By all means go take care of your farming and leave those pesky mobs for others to clean-up... That isn't selfish at all and fits right in with the concept of "multi-player..." or "group..." What a nerdy, orcish concept....

    You farm nodes on a mount? Wouldn't the constant mounting/dismounting be more of a problem than dealing with a few adds preventing a mount?

    back to the op... if you are engaged by a player or npc in an aggressive manner you should not be able to mount.

    can we agree on that?

    This mount any time business has no place in PVP unless we get mounted combat. Anyone who suggests otherwise hasnt spent enough time in cyrodiil.

    Guys, why is everyone acting like there's no place in the middle for compromise here. Why shouldn't I be able to mount if the NPC or player hasn't gotten a hit off on me. Just because I'm tagged as Agro'd by an NPC doesn't mean they have actually hit me. Usually they've hit my sorcerer pet. Why should I be unable to mount? Same goes for group agro! Why should I be unable to mount just because a groupmate is in combat? Nobody has hit me and in many cases I'm not anywhere near the fighting at all but because I'm grouped with someone in combat I can't mount? That ladies and gentlemen makes NO sense whatsoever.

    In PvE, which is quicker, "running afar enough until the aggro wears off" or just standing still and killing the mob? I just don't see the point.

    I've no interest in PvP, but even I can sense an exploit a mile off. If you want a "Flee" button, just ask for one.

    Seems to me they could make it like going through doors...you are able to go through doors in combat if you havent been hit by a NPC for a few seconds, though it should remain disabled in PvP zones of course(this goes without saying)

    I play PVP vehemently, so I know how frustrating it is to be stuck in combat with guards while passing Aleswell mine and be forced to run all the way to Glademist on foot, or some troll magblade keeps lovetapping you with Crippling Grasp from 36 meters away so you can't mount up on the way to a siege defense. Getting dismounted is a guaranteed unbreakable stun of at least a few seconds followed by no CC immunity, in and of itself a huge risk to the action. Comparing being bursted while actively fighting, healing, and defending, and being bursted while running on a mount is pointless. You have zero means of defense while mounted other than running the opposite direction so of course you're going to die a hell of a lot easier when you're within range.

    In your own scenario, if you're being chased by a group of people, as it is right now, as long as they have a single DoT on you, no matter how far away you run, you're stuck in combat, but a chunk of their group will end up leaving combat and can easily come running after you on their own mounts, slowing you down enough for the rest of the group to catch up, repeating the cycle of turtle > flee > regen until you give up and die, they give up chasing, or they die.

    So I say if a group of 30 wants to run away from a keep on guars and camels to avoid further casualties, let them run so the defenders have a chance to repair, and those with too low mount stamina will suffer the consequences of their actions.

    I rarely chase after an enemy group that is retreating from a failed siege. But I should make that decision, it shouldn't be up to them.

    On the other hand, when an enemy group captures Glademist mine and constantly runs around the tower in a 30man ball singling out any DC trying to clear them out, with no intention of ever siegeing the actual keep. You better believe we are going to make a point of chasing them down and beating the snot out of every last one we can find, then camping their bodies while scouting the area for forward camps.

    Enabling those groups to mount up mid-combat is not going to create interesting fights. The 'having to run until out of combat' annoyance is far less annoying than enemies simply picking up and leaving if they start to dislike the situation. Its already annoying when nightblades try to do it, and if it wasnt for the counters, I would be saying the same stuff about the shadow skill. Thing is there is no good counter to riding away, ever try to throw caltrops on a fleeing enemy? Good luck.
