FYI: I absolutely hate the new supersized Crown Store ads

I really don't like these super-sized ads. They nearly fill the screen. I can't see where my character is when I log in. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

The only thing I'm ever going to do with this new ad window is close it immediately.

This is cool and I thought there might be one to come out, but a shame it's needed.

I actually didn't mind the little box that popped up and let me know about something added to the store, but a giant one every log in and log out, ever day is bad designing. It's that type of stuff that makes people use add blockers on their browsers - b/c the adds become so intrusive. I'd have been fine with the little box popping up when they put new stuff in, but with what I'm seeing on the PTS I don't wanna see it at all.

And they really need to think about this. Someone said they are writing an add on to bypass this monstrosity of an idea. Dudes. Just change your minds and decide not to move forward with these new ads. People hate them enough to already be working on not having to deal with them. We've known about them for 1 day. They must have opened the game, NOPED right back out and started working on how to save us all. (and thank you for your work, kind add on creators)

They really missed the mark with this.

I mean, there's still some space on the outer edges of the screen where there aren't any advertisements at all! Imagine how much more stuff they could squeeze into that space to sell you stuff! That space is going to waste!

Also, Pacrooti seems pretty lonely being the only NPC in the game trying to sell us Crown stuff. He needs a friend or two as back-up to hawk more Crown stuff. Good locations for NPC shills would be the rock in Rawl'ka and maybe a custom platform on top of the bank in Vivec City, where the NPC could shout the entire time about the amazing deals in the Crown store.

Edit: haha I see someone already beat me to the punchline. Yes, Stuga would be the perfect Crown peddler.

Big marketing fail on this one, I am guessing this idea came bundled with the suggestion to force the player to exit out of this window in sequences of 3 to really implant the suggestion.

I can see this truthfully keeping people out of the store for spite.

The little box was fine, it was a nice way to be like "hey, something's featured! Take a look."

I got the full screen ones of login this time and WOW nope!

I'm not going to buy things Because they are huge and shoved in my face day after day ZOS. Especially things I already have, like the Warden class. Can I get a "Never show me this again" button or something?

As far as the Larger Ad when I log in I wouldn't have an issue with it IF 1; it only happened once a day and 2; it would not keep showing me stuff I already own. As far as the Small "Next Reward" screen when I log out it makes it seem like ZOS is desperate for players.

@marketing: crap like this only aggravates your player base/customers and turns people away. Last I checked this wasn't some trashy freemium game. Stop treating it as such. It's pathetic.

Agreed. If this only popped once with each crown store update, that would be one thing, but it seems to cue off the New tag in the store, meaning... that really needs to clear once you've looked at something.

Yeah, I have to say this really irks me too. There was nothing wrong with the previous crown store notification window, why invest money in this obnoxious thing?

Reminds me of the line from Ready Player One:

I have to admit these are really ugly. I didn't mind it that much when it was a pop-up on the right side of the screen that seemed to happen once a day, but even that window was kind of out of place.

The little unobtrusive side ads I would look through occasionally to see what was new. That was okay.

These gigantic almost full size ads? Nope. I close them as fast as I can and never look through anything.

You guys are shooting yourselves in the foot with this.

Plus, as an ESO+ subscriber I should never see ads that obnoxious in the game, ever.

Who was the ad wizard that came up with that one?

Yeah I agree these are horrible, and it seems to be every time you log in, even if just switching characters. There was no need to change it from the smaller sized adds, and it should really appear at most once a day. If I have to have my entire screen blocked by a stupid add every time i switch characters or relog im going to be really pissed.
The add is so obnoxious and obtrusive, im less likely to ever actually look at it because it just annoys me.

I dont like them either. I dont care about my rewards and if I want to see whats in the crown store, i'll open the crown store.

However,
sometime I really dont wanna log off.
