Account Problem (Not Network) - An Unknown Error Has Occurred

I haven't been able to get into the game since yesterday. One of two things happens:
Scenario 1: The client logs out on the character select screen with "An Unknown Error Has Occurred".
Scenario 2: The client logs out during "requesting character load" with "An Unknown Error Has Occurred".
I have 3 machines on LAN all playing the game.. only my account has problems. It doesn't matter which machine I try to login with... If I log in with the problem account, I get the unknown error. The other accounts can log in fine - regardless of which computer is being used.

i believe im having the same issue. Everytime I log in, it goes to loading screen and sits there for 5 mins then says an Unknown error has occurred. I have been able to play and I preordered so I should have been playing since the 5 day preorder. I have updated my computer so its definitely not a problem with my computer. this is terrible considering the price I paid for this game. I now want a full refund as this game is broken. Time to go back to WOW.1

ArielleJureaux✭✭✭Some pages back in the discussion some people cannot even log on, or they are getting stuck in character creation, etc. It is quite a few people having this problem and many are frustrated. I hope they work this out soon.0 -

me_ESO22✭I have a feeling it's being caused by a bug in code that allows any race in any alliance... while reinstalling the client, and making backups first I noticed this in the client log:
2014-01-11T12:24:08.443-08:00 Attempted to create character with invalid race or alliance.
2014-01-12T00:44:02.846-08:00 Attempted to create character with invalid race or alliance.

I never have to wait any significant amount of time before being disconnected with an unknown error. I doubt it's the same problem, despite its similarity.0 -

Those errors in the client logs seem to be from January, in which case I had the same problem during beta. I'm getting unknown errors, but they seem to be a completely different problem. In my case, my account works fine, but only my home computer. My laptop at school is not being cooperative.
The invalid race or alliance thing could be tied to it but since our problems are so different, it might not be the case. Did you run the test through the client? Could you run a couple and post the netstat portion?0 -

I never had this issue until right before the server reset today. When I try to login in I get the character select screen for a brief moment then the error message. I don't believe it's network related:
I reinstalled - no luck.
I have 2 ISPs at home - 0ne cable and one DSL. Different providers too - no luck.
Installed it on different PC - no luck.
It's got to be some sort of bug with the account - the only tru way to test is to try another login and see...0 -

If you have one of your buddies try the login and see if they encounter the same problem, you've proven it's the same. It sounds just like my issue.

FCqt✭I have been playing since the server have been activated on the 30th and I never had this issue. I'm currently level 25 and I just experienced this error about 2 hour ago and now I can't login at all. I either get the Unknown Error when I try to log in my account or, if I get to the Character Screen, I get the error when trying to log in one of eight character.
This packet loss theory is bit ridiculous, I have never experienced a similar issue in 15 year of online gaming where my ISP or any "Packet Loss" would be at a cause... Even when I was on my 56k modem. These kind of reply from the customer service is an insult to their customer intelligence.
My ISP is Videotron from Quebec, Canada.
Edit: Tomorrow I'll be reseting my IP to see if this help. If it doesn't help I will try VPN service like WTFast and send the bill to ZoS .
Edit2: Same error with a new IP and WTFast.
Anyone have the Internet creator Phone Number in case ZoS refer us to him?

me_ESO22✭Got some information from in game... I found a player that is a member of 5 guilds, but none of them are >300 players...
I am a founder of a guild, with <300 players and a member of 4 other guilds... at least two of them are >300 members...

It is guild size for me. I left a guild of 400 and got in. That reduce my guilds to 4 and about 1400 members.0
