No my sorc does use resto staff, but I'm not wanting to use it with other healers I'm going to play. Sorry for the mix-up.

A pet sorc could just spam the Twilight Matriarch heal if needed, I suppose.

I think I caused confusion.

My sorc uses resto staff, and she does great. I'm looking for a healing build, or another class build, that does not use resto staff. Looking at all classes aside from sorc, but most interested in warden.

Warden healer does not need resto staff actually.

I like 2HS, anything else really, and no not destro.

For the content this would work on, just tell people to heal themselves and you help kill the boss faster.

Not really true. The only thing that's really missing is the passives, you don't need any active skills from Resto Staff. Yes, not even Combat Prayer.

The resto staff (as well as ALL universally available skill lines) are meant to augment a given class in their desired role. Depending on how certain class skills are weighted for all 3 roles, some classes lean a little more heavily on the said universal skills to reach viable performance in certain roles. The game is intentionally designed this way, its not as severely limited as you are making it out to be.

As far as healers specifically, yes often in harder content a resto staff becomes almost mandatory, but how each of the 5 healers utilizes the resto staff offerings varies greatly. It easier content, its very easy to really individualize yourself and not rely on the resto staff, but the issue is the easier the content becomes, the easier players can sinply heal themselves at which point you are better off just providing additional damage for the group. Non vet 4 man endeavors can be "healed" almost exclusivley with the occasional vigor and BOL, matriarch, funnel health hots, shrooms, and cauterize/obsidian shard (yes im serious on the last one).

Not entirely true. On both my warden and templar I can run no resto skills and be just fine

it'll just hurt my sustain but potions exist for that reason, the missing passives wouldn't be that terrible, etc

Why would you do this to yourself?
Sure, Resto is boring but even if you slot every non-Resto Heal on, you're severely gimping yourself, not only because Resto Staff has some of the greatest healing abilities but because your sustain with a Resto is better than other options.

Can you heal without resto staff, and successfully? Sure. But, the restoration staff has so many good skills and passives to it. Healing Springs, Mutagen/Rapid Regeneration, Combat Prayer, Healing Ward, Force Siphon are all good (in my opinion) and Essence Drain, Restoration Expert, Cycle of Life, & Restoration Master passives give excellent sustain abilities and buffing abilities to the active skills.

I use my Resto bar to slot some of my non-healing class skills. Even with just 3 of the above skills, I am able to effectively keep my group alive. Back bar is where I use my class healing skills (along with the classic Ele Drain/Blockade combo for passive DPS)

In terms of Warden Healers, my main healer is one. I really like him, frost staffs are a good match with them. If you run resto/destro set-up. Winter's revenge + Ele Drain + Blockade is a good, simple rotation to help with CC while contributing to DPS all the while having plenty of slots to do your thing. Plus Enchanted Forest is a great spammable Ultimate heal.

I kinda tried to go that way with my PvP healer, but as I play him so rarely I switched to Restro and same skills rotatin on front bar as my pet sorc

Personally, I way prefer Pet sorc healing. It's a buzz. Gets alpt of kudos too in hard stuff and you get it right

And everyone keeps telling me. I should switch restro to SnB, because everyone is SnB. I don't like SnB, I love Restro. Been using one for 3+yrs as a Magplar restro healer. Now I'm going show this to others lol.
