Nightblade's "Summon shade" skill

Why doesn't it do what description says(Summon a shade version of yourself), instead summoning some completely random dude? This is terrible oversight that ruins the immersion for me, probably never gonna use this skill no matter how useful it is. And before you say it's technically difficult to make identical spectral copies of your character, gw2 did that 6 years ago.

What do you expect to hear now?
The skill works how the devs wanted him to work. I dont think there will be many, who wants to see their self as costumated as you look. Probably this shadowy guy is exactly what they want. And skill costumazition is much more difficult than character costumization. Its way easier to program that generic shadow guy instead of a replica if yourself.

I would believe that if it didn't explicitly say "shade version of yourself", so my guess they were just too lazy to make it as originally intended.

    Lazy? Maybe.
But i think it is not easy to implement that the skill looks like you. The skill is a visual effect and therefore programmed to be always the same animation. your characters always looks the same once costumized, since you get changed ID’s and codes for that. But there is only one code describing the skills animation, which would be pretty hard to adapt, that the animation copies the whole codes and ID‘s from your char to put into the skill code.

It's the shade version, not an identical sitting impact of you. That's you in the shade world. You're different. Have i helped the immersion at all?

I just wish they'd change the language. The skill could just say "a shade" instead of "a version of yourself."

For my character his shade looks about the same as him, just with a bit of different armor. It also seems to work out because the shade armor is almost exactly like the armor I used to wear on my main character. Until I switched themes for my armor I actually thought the shade DID copy your character's look (exactly), just as a shadowy spectral see-through ghost instead of with opaque skin and gear.

I guess what that means is that it is at least possible to do something that achieves near perfect immersion if you want the shade to be in your own image. It might just be a matter of how you gear up your character and how you roleplay around any differences.

It's better than it once was, when even Argonians and Khajiits got a Human Shade for using it.

if the tool tip says it, then it should be a thing.
your right, and i hope they do it.
it would be cool, and be much better if he did look exactly like me and even fool people to think he was me.
just like the tool tip says, and even have my @name and name above his head.
would be great for a few seconds till they figured out it wasn't me, and would increase my defenses even for a small amount, lol untill they realize it is a fake me.

    i hope they do this.
