I find it funny and interesting when I quest alongside with yellows and everyone seems friendly, I also find it funny when DC guild comes in and Cheydinhal turns into riot city. But I don't find it funny when people swear and insult others with no reason what so ever. I don't have to accept people's immature behaviour, but yeah it's PvP zone. Take the risk and enjoy, because Cyro dailies are one of the easiest way to farm boxes when nobody is around.

I'd like to complain about the PvE'er who (along with 5 of his AD companions) killed me in a town the other day. He then proceeded to tbag me.

Yes, I rode back and killed him. Repeatedly. Even when he stopped even pretended to fight back.

    Does that count?

So many people missing the point. It's not about PVP environment and whether people should be able to PVP or not (obviously they can). It's about how players are treating other players and giving a poor showing for the PVP experience/community as a whole.

If the roles were reversed it would be equally embarrassing (PVP players going into PVE and being treated poorly).

So I let a pveer go yesterday while I was doing dailies at vlas. Said player then came back with more pveers and Xv1 tbagged me.

It's almost as if both sides are capable of BMing huh?

This is why I subscribe to the "if it's red, it's dead" view of PvP. PvE'ers have no divine right to quest in Cyrodiil without being killed. If they are there, they take the risk.

I won't kill someone repeatedly if it gets boring, but that's about it for the accommodation.

oh my.. i decided to go to bruma this morning. I have heard a little bit about it in zone chat. Quests are easy and basically stack on each other so you can do them fast.

allright i will bite, where should we go then to PvP?

If you're serious, last time I visited Cyrodiil there were many opportunities to PvP that didn't involve camping questgivers. Are you saying that you've been PvPing all this time, and still don't know how and where to find an actual fight?

Depending on the campaign, finding fights can be challenging. At the moment on Sotha PC/NA AD has 3 bars pop to 1 bar for both DC and EP. Seemingly half of AD are running in a group responding with overwhelming numbers to any attempts to take resources or keeps. Not much "actual fights" to be had there for the 5 or so EP looking to PvP.

The rest of AD are "questing" in the towns they control. I have no issue going to those towns to fight.

I don't feel bad about taking a 3 man to kill 12-20 man groups in Shor at towns.

I'm amazed at how toxic the PvErs are when they go into a PvP context. I've only PvP'd one day during the event (just logged and did my writs) and I've been called every racial epithet, homophobic slur, and curse word you can imagine. I don't feel a lot of sympathy towards these people. I'm going to continue to fight outnumbered, take their AP, disrupt their quests, and treat them civilly.

Hey, but I bet a couple of them have some decent DPS.

I usually play it by ear myself. Even while questing if i'm in Mainland cyro or IC I go in full pvp gear. I am always ready for a fight but I'm not thirsty. I'll gladly engage if someone wants to go at it but I tend to leave people be. But I've come across some very brutal zerg v zergs at bruma recently and obviously it's a situation where you are gonna fight. Those fights were nuts and fun but when it calmed again the few of us chilling there doing quests just left each other alone.

    Welcome to Cyrodil.

I haven't played in a while but back in the day there wasn't a lot of quarter given to pve'rs who ventured onto our turf on a special weekend. At least they can feel fortunate there isn't full looting like in a lot of other pvp games so they really don't lose anything except a tiny amount of time.

    That's odd how Shor works,
Yesterday it was 3 bars EP and the day before 3 bars DC while the others were all 1 or 2 bar. These were all around the same time frame.

I was on my lowly DC in shor yesterday. Almost everyone I came across were PVErs that did not engage. I watched another DC attack someone that was obviously a PVEr with no intention of fighting.
I told the DC to leave the area and not come back or I would swap back to my main and make their life painful.
    Needless to say, they left.

I will agree that PvP is fair game. But it is impossible to defeat/defend against 5 guys sitting in a building beside a quest giver killing everything that comes thru the door. I couldn't even get 5 of us in there go after them because various lag allowed them to drop their AOE before we could even draw weapons.

Thats being a jerk, and is unfair and not fun. Once, ok, i guess, you got me. But camping it for like 2 hours essentially killed that hub. I would never treat even my worst enemy like that, and its wrong. When a player impedes the enjoyment of another player repeatedly that way, there has to be a line.

Trust me, i spent hours and hours this weekend in Cyro, and i took my fair share of deaths in stride, but this was not so easy.

I have a nice story too. I was killing the Imperial LT in Cheydinhal. I had him down to about 15 percent and a yellow and blue approached from opposite directions. I stopped hitting the boss and kited him around a bit and the other two guys finished him off and we all got the credit and the kill and went on our way. It was a nice moment that reminds me that though we are there to fight, its still a game and being nice to each other is an ok thing to do. Its not how it has to be, but its nice.

Just like some PvPers pay PvE guilds to farm weapons in some trials, PvEers who want to do the quests safely should pay mercenaries to escort them :)

Towns are rarely this active and they offer a different pvp experience than running in a zerg aroud the inner keeps. I've had fun going there solo and picking fights with whatever I found.

I find that generally people who camp quest givers are afraid of real PvP and only after cheap AP and an ego boost. Pretty sad. They generally aren’t that good anyway. In saying that, going into PvP and expecting not to fight someone is pretty ridiculous. I’d rather they just take the PvE stuff out of Cyrodiil honestly, but that’s just me.

Ever watch Private Ryan? at one point one of the US soldiers spares a German soldier only for him to kill his mate later on. (or something like that...)

If I see and AD or DC, I'm sorry, but they are in a PvP zone and therefore, fair game.

seen it too, and during them streaming, not naming any names, or shaming, and I understand that its a PVP environment - but they know exactly why those players are there

this is borderline bullying because you aren't fighting players that know/can fight back at all

some of these are not solo players but they do it in groups or with their groupies (people who follow streamers around)

I've also seen some non-streamers get in there with their groups and kill players and its kind of a *** thing to do because they won't go anywhere on the map but will just sit at these towns and kill pve'ers'/achievement hunters

PVP zone. Look, I used to be so PVE-only that I forced myself into Cyrodiil for the Master Angler fish.

Even I knew that if I went into a PVP zone unprepared and unwilling to fight another player that I was going to get killed by other players and that was fine. I was okay with get killed because I didn't know what I was doing. Its a Player vs Player zone. The players who killed me while fishing weren't doing anything wrong.

I get it. You don't like that more experienced players are turning towns of unprepared questers into a Battlegrounds Deathmatch. That town is still in a PVP area. Deathmatch rules are totally appropriate. And questers should prepare to fight or prepare to die miserably.

A lot of these players will get hostile when you fight outnumbered against them and kill them, but the second they feel they have the edge that weird code of “don’t attack I’m questing” all falls apart and they’ll happily zerg down soloists.

Which, to be honest, is pretty fun for me.

ZOS put PvP objectives (flags) into the towns to promote PvP play in them. When questers get killed in the town but the town isn't flipped, they get AP for it (from the D tick) and they can simply respawn in the town. Seems fine to me.

Then they shouldn't be in Cyrodiil. There is ONE zone for PvP. The entire rest of the game is available to PvE.
