    What does that even mean? It is the same base game plus additions. Meaning whatever game you loved a couple of years ago is still there, plus whatever they have added since.

    What does that mean? The quality of the updates got worse over time. That's what it means. And that's something I dislike and criticize. ZOS lazyness and lack of originality. I love this game, that's why I bought Summerset. I still hate that even the most ordinary stuff seems to be good enough for ZOS. It feels like they're not even trying anymore to be original or do create something special (e.g. Summerset looking like Auridon 2.0, giving us just one skill line, nerfing as the way to go when it comes to balance and gameplay changes etc.).

    So really you're complaining because a game you've probably poured hundreds of hours into doesn't feel like it does the first day you played it? Wait till you get married, bud.

    What I've written and what you say is completely different. I don't know how you can misinterpret my words so much.

    I am criticizing the quality of the added content to the game, especially the content we get since the end of 2016. I do not criticize the base game, I criticize the (significant) decrease in quality when it comes to patch/DLC (or Chapter) content. And ZOS laziness in that regard.

    I dislike the use of that phrase, I find that (especially recently) it does more harm than good to any kind of constructive argument.

    The phrase invokes some subjective and idealized past that often never existed, except in the mind of the invoker. You can't possibly know what motivated the past or current development team. Additionally those are groups of people, with different motivations, some of which may not be in line with your vision of "heart and soul". These teams of people have bosses and those bosses have bosses, ultimatly they make the decisions.

    What one person might think was great could be awful for another. For example, I imagine the share holders think the game is "great" because they are making a lot of money, however all you need to do is scroll through this thread to see that others disagree.

    Why would you suggest 2000 vouchers? I doubt that ZOS would want to make a Jewelry Crafting Station that can be used to craft each and every available Jewelry set. They could have done that for the Blacksmithing, Clothing, and Woodworking Crafting Stations, too, but they chose to design a different system.

    The cost for a common, non-attunable Crafting Station is, IIRC only 35 vouchers each. But the character can only craft non-Set gear with it (such as the items required to fulfill normal Crafting Writs). A Jewelry Crafting Station would similarly be used to craft non-set jewelry, which also currently exists in the game as do non-set armor and weapons.

    Attunable Crafting Stations currently cost 250 vouchers each. A player charcter must take it to a Workshop where the Armor Set is crafted which they want to craft with that Attunable Station, then take some action to "attune" it. (I've never done that, since I use the ones in the Guild Halls of guilds to which I belong.)

    So three Attunable Stations (one for Blacksmithing, for Clothing, and for Woodworking, respectively), are needed to craft all weapons and armor in that Set. An Attunable Station could simply be "attuned" to the Jewelry Crafting Station at the same Workshop as the others to craft the Jewelry for that same Set.

    So the total cost for the four Attunable Crafting Stations would be 1000 vouchers -- less than your suggestion for 2000 vouchers. However, the four stations would be used to craft both non-set gear and accessories, and the gear and accessories which have the benefits of a specific Set.

    Note: Attunable Crafting Stations, like the Set Crafting Stations at Workshops, can also be used to craft gear that does not have the benefits of the armor Set. An Attunable Crafting Station used for Jewelry should have the same features in that respect.

    If you have a problem with paying for this chapter or its contents and think its unfair, i want you to do a little experiment. I want you to go to work for the next month but dont accept any payment for that work. If your employer insist, give your entire paycheck to charity.

    Does that sound crazy? It also sounds crazy that you want devs to spend their time to develop your entertainment and not get paid for it because you think that they should continue to provide content for your original purchase price from the time of purchase until you are done playing.

    If $30-$40 puts so big of a dent in your life that you cant even save up to purchase with a 3-4 month warning, then maybe you should put more effort into increasing your income and less time playing video games.

    Quick note: People that complain about loot crates; Did you know ESO is one of the few games that give you a currency for dubble up loot from crates that you can use on on whatever reward you want? And theire boxes are around the same price as other games. so I realy dont see anything wrong with these boxes set aside from the fact that they dont give us the %drop chance on the loot (looking at the rules Casinos must abide by)

    So many things wrong here.

    Why are B2P or F2P successful? Because a large percentage of the population can't or won't pay more than once, and those people are the backdrop for those that pay. In other words, more people, more personalities, more variety for the whales (and even wannabe whales).

    It's also entirely wrong to make the 'they need money' argument. ZoS has paid for their development and everything else several times over. The only reason you can't find much direct evidence to support the fact is because they are a private company. However, even using ultra conservative numbers based on what ZoS has said about the population, simple multiplication tells the story. If you really want to go crazy, look at the lists of most profitable gaming companies and then realize that ZoS has beat them out in the game spaces it occupies for release day revenue. http://fortune.com/2015/11/16/fallout4-is-quiet-best-seller/

    I don't mind ZoS making as much money as it wants on cosmetics, but locking classes and crafting behind a DLC (and yes, it is a DLC) affects the population base eventually.

    All of this is coming from a crown store junkie subscriber that also buys all the DLCs, even those that are accessible by subscribers. Playing with a bunch of wealthy, self-centered first world players is ... boring...

    The conversation is really about dividing up what should and should not be exclusive. Classes and crafting are things that people typically associate with the base game. However there are a ton of other things that it's fine to limit to a DLC, and typically those things are still accessible by people without access to the DLC (e.g., guild traders).

    Let's look at Morrowind. They made the Warden class exclusive but then also made, what, 5 motifs only drop in Vvardenfell? The class part I think was wrong, the motif part is great. The advantage is that anyone with access can obtain and sell the motif pages for high prices, while people playing the base game can only buy them.

    On the recipe front, you can still get recipes from other sources (e.g., writ vouchers), but Zos also put a large number of urns in easily accessible tombs that typically drop 1-3 recipes each run. I haven't found anything close to as good as those tombs for recipes.

    ZoS has also doen this sort of thing by making exclusive drops from zone dailies, etc. If you have played the game as long as I have, you also realize that they reduced the amount of harvesting nodes in the base game and made specific DLC lands have a much higher rate. Hew' Bane comes to mind.

    The problem is that most free players thinking about playing a game first figure out if there is anything they can't do or get. They are much less concerned with not being able to farm certain items than they are with absolute accessibility.

    Beyond that, I play games with a group of players that migrate from game to game together. Some of them, for various reasons, have to count their pennies. Almost all of those folks are too proud to let me make the purchase and most get annoyed if I even make the offer. If they leave the game, so do I. I enjoy this game, and it would be a crummy thing if I have to leave because ZoS removes very basic elements of the game from open access. I have no idea how many migratory groups play ESO and what impact it has, but just throwing it out there. When i see ZoS make something exclusive, the first thing I do is worry that I'll have to leave a game I like over it.

    Dunno why everyone's complaining? You pay like 40€/£/$ for the chapter and in my opinion that's not much. Imagine how much you normally pay in your RL for things that you don't use that much or which are just for consuming.

    So buy less cigarettes or chocolate and instead buy the new chapter and support the game and developers.

    Or wait one year and get it for free.

    But complaining in the forums like "paywall", "pay2craft", "paytowin"... totally useless.

    SWToR did/does. iirr with a free account u can only advance crafting lines to 20/50 and u can only have 1 of 3 trades.

Or one of the better, "How will people be able to upgrade BoP jewelry?" Answer... BUY the chapter! "But I don't want to buy the chapter, I want everything for free, it's not fair." Sorry, but businesses don't run on charity and freebies!

    $30 to get an optional feature. Some of you either need some therapy or a job.

    You'll be able to get every single jewelry piece in crafted sets without ever setting foot in Summerset.

    Just be prepared to make another thread about how you're paying through the nose in gold.
