I'll write more. And frankly, if you want to do group synergy stuffs there are better nonvet group comps that take SIGNIFICANTLY less grinding. I've never really gone for a group comp in nonvet because it really doesn't matter. Most folks you fight in nonvet just flop and die. AA members are decent examples.

I don't say that to start anything with the guild. I say that because it's frustrating to see a guild exist in nonvet with toxic leadership that genuinely doesn't try and teach new players. That's literally the only point of having a guild in nonvet. Players join AA because they want to join a guild, learn to win by numerical advantage, and never actually improve as players or learn about the game. That's what happens when you focus on campaign score/finding fights you can win rather than looking for challenging fights and focusing on growth.

In their defense, it's still not as bad as promising gear to new players but only if they make it to top 10 on the leaderboards lol.

I got some video footage of their emp defense the other day, maybe it's time to give my pitiful video editing skills another go at it.

I’ve been a dedicated DC PvPer since early release, but my vet PvP guild had gone mostly inactive and I was rolling my first stam Warden, so I decided to give the AD side of Kyne a try. What I saw there made me delete that character when she vetted out. Although there are a handful of genuinely good and friendly AD players on Kyne, the large majority were either apathetic, unfriendly, or downright toxic. The level of elitism and just plain snobbishness was enfuriating. I promptly rolled a new DC mag Warden and now take special delight in inflicting as many deaths on AA players as I possibly can.

Thought I'd level up my Stamplar in Kyne in time for the festival and I have to say it's been a joy of a weekend. I vetted 5 characters out of BWB back in the day so it was like a homecoming returning to the >level 50 server. EP might be on the back foot but zone chart has been good natured & supportive. The groups generally up for coordination. I'm gonna be sad to vet out this sixth toon. ..

Elitists on AD? Huh, that's odd. Most in the past were very friendly, mostly, and willing to give advice.

Even when I made an ad, a while back, I didn't have a bad experience there. I guess those decent people on AD are gone now.

I get the feeling that a majority of the long-term players on Kyne tend to get somewhat jaded and less interested in dealing with new players and their inexperience. There’s always exceptions, though. This means that new players are most likely only going to get help from other newer players, or long time players like me that only return to Kyne when we roll a new character.

No, most of us left. Our guild doesn't regularly run on the server anymore and we're just running EP right now - predictably since we're an AD vet guild we don't recruit from EP.

We ran guild taking new players that wanted to learn out of zone for almost two years. Probably some of the most fun I've had with the game, but I don't have the time to spend PvEing now to get characters ready for Kyne. I'll probably try a few fun builds once they introduce jewelry crafting, but that'll be about it and I'll just play solo and offer advice to new players via PM or sometimes I pull someone into TS with me.

I'm pretty out of touch with Kyne as well. Most people I played with have either moved to vet or have left the game. With all of the travel I do for my company coupled with owning homes in two different states, I just don't have the hours to play like I did a couple years ago. I miss all the fun of watching new players "come of age" but life is good in other ways now. Reading about the issues here really just sounds like more of the same though.

I hesitate to comment on this current thread, but I feel that there is a toxicity in this forum that is not as wide spread in Kyne as seems to be portrayed.

I have come across nothing but helpful folks in AD and AA is the most active guild so it is difficult to run AD on Kyne without working with or grouping with AA. Having said that all the crowns I have run with are helpful, respectful barring the one or two that just seem to be having a bad day as is human nature.

The tone in AA is respectful without much of the "you must do this or you are out" mentality. The guild leader is adamant that folks are respectful and not curse (family friendly stuff) in Discord. But they generally just seem to want to have fun playing a game with friends.

Isn't that what this is all about really?

To be fair, maybe my dislike of AA stems from fighting their faction stack as a DC player. I ran with AA a couple of times on my recently-deleted AD character and I guess I don’t have any reason to bad mouth them as an occasional member of their zerg. The toxicity I experienced on AD was from individuals that may or may not have been with AA. If I unfairly disparaged the AA leadership I apologize. You guys are definitely top-notch pug wranglers, as the size of the zerg that shows up at Ash’s front door on a regular basis can attest.

I have been messaged by multiple AA members extremely toxic, racist, and homophobic things. I passed those things along to people that told me they were in leadership positions and they said, "sorry, we side with guild members." The GM has weird vendettas against people that he chooses based on folks wanting to play with IRL friends or mix things up. The GM is unable to tolerate dissent and has a long history of very, very, very odd and definitely not family friendly discussions with female members of my guild. The GM has repeatedly accused me of "not helping AD" despite me running guild groups for what is probably the best organized guild in nonvet during the time they were active and pushing to crown many AA members emperor - this all on the basis that I used to play every once in a while on other alliances as strictly a soloist and not playing map objectives.

Those are my experiences with AA. I don't really care about whatever zerg they're mustering now, but if people are talking about their experiences with that guild in game then I feel I should contribute mine.

I don't really care much when people start swearing and get pissed off when things get tough, it's kinda like when you're driving and wish all kinds of bad stuff on the idiot ahead of you driving at the 60 km/h speed minimum on the 100 km/h highway. What is said in the car stays in the car kinda stuff. To be honest, talking *** can be fun when a little effort behind it. But it does cross a limit when you get this kinda stuff via PMs once in a while:

    https://imgur.com/a/xaho3

This is pretty tame compared to the stuff I used to receive (this was just forwarded from a friend), but you get the idea. That the guild is promoted as family-friendly is almost as hilarious as their GM calling anyone a zergling.

As an aside, Animal Control is recruiting Guild Advisors willing to help with the build diagnostic and crafting needs of our newer members, hit me up if you're interested. It's a new DC guild, only requirement for Guild Advisors is not to run groups sourced from the guild in other factions. We get decent interest for our weekly build clinics, so anyone's welcome to pitch in.

I don't mind guilds when their size builds up gradually over the course of the evening, but I do mind them when a 24 people zerg justs shows up out of nowhere at really odd times. EP's and DC's guild tend to basically build uparound primetime and gradually dissipate over the night, while AD's zergs just show up at like 5AM to emp, or to stop another faction from emping. Someone is working hard on those bat signals on Discord...

Speaking of guilds, GoNB is under new leadership. Good luck to Vic Rattlehead in Kyne!

I don't think I'll be back in Kyne unless they come out with a new class. I might be back to test out some funny things with jewelry crafting, but that'd be it. Otherwise, hop in Shor and we can fight!

It's kinda funny, when I first started bwb there was alot of guilds and people are farming gear and skills. Kyne comes along and alot of the guilds seems to disband or move on and it hit a bit of a low. I leave kyne for a while and play vet. Come back to kyne and there are guild groups again, people are dumping meteors and dbos. A whole new crop of farming rerollers it seems. I love the compitition, just hope these people are actually helping the new players, and not being elitist.

I popped in yesterday for a tidbit, @Datthaw . Still working up the energy to finish my stamplar and get that last crown crate. I got hit with a lot of dawnbreakers, but wasn't too impressed. It just seems like a lot of toxic soloists who want to beat up new players.
