If you were using Shadowy Disguise with no DoTs in your build before patch, yeah.
If you were using a NB build with DoTs & Dark Cloak for that reason, then you lost the Minor Protection. Small nerf, but still...
I don't really see any really impactful changes in the notes apart from the Shadow Image change, which is arguably a pretty huge buff.
We'll have to see how the new/old Offering works, I really hope it'll be able to scale with stamina this time so that people have an alternative for Rally (wouldn't be a buff to the current meta builds!).

Now that you put it that way, it does sound kinda silly.
Yeah, obviously the Shadow Image change is going to help a lot in 1vX department, dunno if that was necessary.
That said, I do like the change just from gameplay perspective (gets rid of a lot of "clunkiness" with the skill), but I wonder if they should probably increase the cost or something.

The shadow image buff is what's huge.

its nice but taking 8% more dmg is also huge - it will make nb easier to play for inexperienced players so
This will only hit magnb while stamnb got a massive buff with shadow image.
Yeah magblade got some “buffs” at least, in the form of shadow image being non target now, otherwise it’s all nerfs. Most only affect pve though, which means less pve fotm rerolls in pvp making the class look popular.Sounds like MagBlade got a mixture of buffs and nerfs but Stamblade only got buffs basically?

Classic stuff. A minor protection for a mere 2" that hardly anyone was using in PvP was "huge". While being able to cast shadow image behind LOS, without alerting your presence, and then returning to it if your gank fails is merely "nice".

I wonder if shadow image will pull you out of cloak though. If it does then this change is “nice”. If it doesn’t, it’s “great”. It’s not a playstyle altering or gameplay changing buff though. Guess the bar must have been set really low for people to be calling this a “huge” buff.

I'd actually argue that people who can't see the potential use of this and are only classifying this as "nice" are lacking imagination. Let's talk about this if/after it goes live.
As for MagBlade, Funnel cost is the only meaningful nerf. Everyone uses Refreshing Path for PvP anyway. Most other changes affect almost entirely PvE. DPS was nerfed while tanking potential was increased.

Oh I can imagine how this is a good buff, but not anything fantastic. It’s simply a nice change. It’s going to be helpful, sure, but it’s not like I was running around in cyro going like “oh jolly I sure wish my shade wouldn’t need a target right now”. I put it down when near enemies anyway. If I need imagination to see how good this buff is I don’t know how it can be considered a yuuuuuge buff.
This doesn’t change how we’re basically forced into 2h builds, how ALL we have is dodgeable, reflectable and how our damage outside incap + merciless is mediocre (which isn’t even a thing ever since they removed cast time, since now anyone with half a brain can dodge the bow after incap).
But yeah, never look a gift horse in the mouth. At least they didn’t gut the class like the did with stamdk in morrowind LUL

I think this is a bit of an over reaction. Stamblade and Magblade still have solid pressure outside of Incap + Merciless. Maybe not as much as MagDKs or Templars but night blade pressure shouldn't be on par with them in the first place.

Sure, stamblades do have plenty of pressure. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for the changes. They could probably have nerfed us even more, maybe done something to incap. I know for a fact that I won’t be maining magblade next patch though.

Am i the only one who has this meh atitude to all the new changes and are more concerned that they will give us some really op builds?

@BohnT
That’s my concern as well. Between the Two-Handed change opening up more set combinations, jewelry crafting opening up more potent set combinations, and new sets coming with the update this has the potential to breed some really stupid builds. And we already have a lot of really absurd builds right now.
Also, where are the Sorc buffs? There is a bit confusion if Hardened Ward has been nerfed or not, the damage increase on Liquid Lightning is strong in PvE but meh for PvP, and they still didn’t address the weak spots.

Idk about sorcs, I hear @derra is excited about the changes, and when he is excited about something you know it’s gonna be good.

Not sure if i´m excited. It´s not bad for sorcs though.
We will have to see how it plays out with the buff to cage + lightattacks mostly. Cage always dealing dmg is definetly big - even if people might argue it´s only 7 to 8k tooltip - coupled with minor force being accessible on magica builds and new gearing (set) options i could see some threat coming back to sorc burst.

Idk about sorcs, I hear derra is excited about the changes, and when he is excited about something you know it’s gonna be good.
Cage change sounds pretty neat, wonder how it will fare against reach builds though, seeing how the latter offers more bar space.
