Cannot enable "Combat Cues"

Maaxar

Soul Shriven
I cannot enable the Combat Cues feature on my character. It stays off when clicking it. All other settings are toggling fine.

Well this is a mystery since the beta. Maybe the nice guys/gals at Zenimax can shed some light into this "issue" ?!

I would also like an answer to this, espeically since I have seen youtube videos of people using it (or what I assume must be this based on lack of other things it could be).

I have no clue what a 'combat cue' is.

I assume it's not a weighted stick with a tiny leather pad on the end?
'Clever' sigs get old real fast - just like this one.

Is this when skills won't work? Because my skills do not work. But only those that use mana. They pulse for about 0.2 seconds and then stop. Same with sprint but only while mounted on my horse. I also cannot quick-travel with map or travel to player since they would have a "cast" animation. I can use the waypoint shrine, though and my stamina skills work (but I only have one). I've tried everything... It started after crashing a few times in Dawnbreaker pvp. It's almost like I'm perma-silenced, except I can see my character attempting to use the skills and then stopping. Tell me how I've submitted four tickets on this since yesterday afternoon and I've received ONE answer with them telling me to ask other players in /zone.... $80 for this. Ridiculous.

I do believe combat queues are on by default - that red semi-circle thing. So even though you can't turn it on, it is on..

Your problem is not related to combat cues.

You seem to have a technical problem although your description is really vague. My first guess is: internet problems, maybe antivirus software or ports on your router not forwarded.

No the red boarders are something different and you can tune them down in the gameplay options. The game gets about 67% better after tuning down that red glow, in my eyes.

In the settings, Gameplay options, I also cannot enable combat cues. It is set to OFF and cannot be changed to ON. Not a big deal for me, but weird.

I wish it were as easy as that, but I have found another player with my same issues (curiously another nightblade). It is a character-specific glitch. An animation bug, to be precise. An agent for the game has finally responded to me telling me that they will send my problem to the "Higher Elves". Joy...

This option is greyed out for me too. I assume it is just not ready yet and will be enabled via patch.

Same, combat cues have broken since beta.
  • mrlee95b14_ESO
Now that the game is live, anyone know why we still can't enable "Combat Cues"?
    Or what it does?

We don't know what it does yet. It's probably something that is not yet implemented.

Obviously yet another bugged function. Combat queue sounds like a setting used in many other mmos - each skill used happens in a row in chained order that you have triggered.

Combat Cues was working fine in Beta, it was disabled after the API nerf...make your own conclusions.

Well in beta there was an option to turn on Nameplates that never worked and we all know what happened to that option.

I expect this will disappear in 1.1 as it never worked either.

It's not "queue", it's "cues", it was showing when to block/interrupt in big capital letters in order to help the players.

I think it is more of a Trial/Raid feature. It's probably like the built in pop ups add ons like CT Raid do in WoW so you can clearly know when a boss is doing one of the big insta kill attacks and where to go.

I hope this never comes in. Raiding in WoW early on before all the mods was so much trying to figure out the fights and exactly what the abilities did. Instead now, just like everything else, it's force fed to you.

It's the text at the bottom of the screen saying things like "press Rm & Lm to interrupt" and "Double tap W,A,S or D to Dodge".

I read the comments, not sure what's causing it though.

it is cues and not clues....
the tips about interrupt, block etc is in "interface combat tips"
the "combat cues" are off since beta, no idea what that is and it looks like our great zenimax guys are not willing to bring some light into this matter
