Dialouges missing voice overs

Makoi
Makoi
There are certain dialouges from NPC's which has no sound at all - There's no facial animations, and well obviously no sound either.
- Like I'd talk to the prophet and he talks to me just fine, choose a dialouge option, and then his response has no sound at all, I even tried to start the conversation over, but the missing voice overs are on the same dialouges, all the time :/

Anyone else with this issue, or is it just me ?

It's not just you. I have no voice overs at all. Not even the general background chatter you get between the citizens in the cities. Relogging hasn't fixed it at all.

I fixed it by repairing my installation from the launcher - took a while but it works now!!

I repaired when it said it needed to be repaired but I am still having this problem.

I have this issue as well but it seems to be a general bug that audio for voiceovers stops working randomly, I do not think that in most cases the NPC's voiceover is missing.

Sometimes it just helps saying "Goodbye" to and NPC and re-initiate the dialogue. If that does not work I just logout and login again and the dialogue works for me - for a while - until audio drops out on random dialogue lines again.

Yea, I have had dialog stop voiceover in the middle of a conversation and then restart before the conversation ends. It isn't missed dialog because restarting the same conversation yielded voiceover. Not sure what causes this.

Well reparing my installation seems to have worked.. atleast the dialouges voice overs that didden't work before works now.

I am still having problems with audio in general. It works fine for a while and then suddenly the voice overs stops working and after that sounds slowly disappear in general, footsteps is usually the next thing that goes away after the voice overs.

I have two separate audio devices in my computer (Corsair headset and the standard motherboard audio card) and the issue occurs on both audio devices, so it is not likely related to drivers either.

    Repairs have not helped.

Anyone else that has similar issues still?

Came across something a bit like this in the long automated sequence you get when you meet the Prophet in the Harbourage.

At some points every other of the Prophet's speeches which you have to click a button to progress past there was no voice-over, but it came back for the next speech segment, only for the one after that to be missing, etc. etc.

Yes, it happens at random for me. Sometimes you can get it back by just re-triggering the dialogue again by telling the NPC "Goodbye" and then starting the conversation again. But for me it completely stops working eventually and I have no voice over at all. At that point other sound effects also start to disappear. I have to relog to fix the issue, do not need to restart the client. However I have to do it several times an hour now so I hope it is something they are looking into.

Yeah it started to happen for me again as well apparently - Voice overs, and as the guy above said, footsteps afterwards, and then everything else starts to fade away..

Now also had the bug where NPC's starts to speak german o.O

I've never had any of this, it sounds like corrupted game files, and repairing should fix it. After the beta-to-live patch, I actually did a full repair before I started playing. And it did repair some things, and I never ran into any sound issues. A few times, the text didn't exactly match the voice over, but I assume that was just due to changing the quest text after the dialog was recorded.

I both completely reinstalled the game, and otherwise repaired - And the voice overs does work at times - if you restart the game, usually it works afterwards. Think it could be a memory leak of some sort perhaps :/?

I have the same exact issue. After playing for about an hour the NPC VO will start cutting out, then sfx like footsteps, then music and ambient environment sounds. Restarting the game will fix it, temporarily.

I have zero issues in other games or in any other way audio related. All drivers are up to date.

I did not have this issue at all in beta or early access, it was only when I made it to stone falls in release did it start.

I've submitted a bug report and a support ticket.

I did not have the issue in beta either, started as of the release. I've tried to disable all sound devices except the one used for audio for ESO but it made no difference.

I'm having the exact same issue. I never had this during beta and it only recently cropped up after the last patch. When I'm in Vulkhel Guard around the blacksmith/clothier area I will loose dialog with NPC's and then loose all my footsteps, horse sounds, pretty much everything except music. It's getting extremely frustrating and hope that they acknowledge this bug soon because it really screws up the ESO immersion. I love the game and would just like this taken care of :(

I've gone so far as to uninstall the beta client and reinstall the retail client. I've done multiple repairs and have made damn sure all my drivers are updated... This has to be something on their end.

Ditto but not just in Vulkhel Guard... happens everywhere...

All the elemental guardians for the Wyrd tree quests speak German for me. It is annoying as heck, cause in one part you need to listen for what they say ..;. and I don't speak GERMAN.

Also, there is another quest where the voiceovers don't even match the text. It is all backwards (meaning the VOs for the first part of the quest are in the SECOND part, and vice versa). Talk about a brain screwy quest.

I have the same issue every now and then, like one part of the dialogue will work, then I'll choose another dialogue option, then the next part won't be voiced... I know the audio files are there because restarting the conversation will make the dialogue missed sometimes work properly.

*update* - no repair was required, so I guess it's a patchable thing - will submit a report each time it happens.

It seems to be a memory leak. The first thing that goes is the voice overs, then the whistling (to call the horse), the footsteps, then the music. Usually, I just restart the game as soon as voiceovers cut out, and it fixes the issue for a few hours. Today I decided to let it be, and see how bad it would get. About 30 mins after all sounds were gone, it crashed my PC completely (black screen, followed by a restart).. Not good.

got the exact same problem. Im happy im not the only one, because my brother dont have those problems and i started to think it could be my audio card. But as long all other game doesnt have any problem like this, it has to be a mistake in ESO. Please fix it ZOS

It seems to only happen in Vulkhel Guard for me.
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

Yeah this is still happening in the same way. It's for sure server side, at least the cause. No way to fix it on our end, gonna have wait for ZOE to come up with a solution.

I am having this problem as well. Sometimes I can log out and back in and it works. I just keep the captions on so at least I know what is being said, even if I can't hear the voice over. Doesn't seem to bother the other sounds in the game, just the voices.

I seem have general sound problems, that does affect the voiceovers (which is annoying because they are all great, I like hearing them). Certain sounds will just cut out randomly...the sound of my horse galloping, my weapon sounds, footsteps, and as mentioned vo's. I even have problems playing my lute sometimes :| This stuff should be fixed soon I imagine..could be a driver problem or something on my end as well.

It seems to be server side for me because even though the sound cuts out, it tries to catch up and I get sounds after I've already completed actions.
