Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Should there be a CP catch up mechanic? Should we be able to buy them?

    Gold buys clears.

Okay, I'll bite, how are you getting this hypothetical gold to buy these clears without putting time into the game?

Buying instant trait research on the crown store.

Really. And how, exactly, do you make money with that?

So, you're saying, you don't have an answer?

Okay, @Knowledge, I'll start with a simpler question. Maybe you might actually know this. "How do you research traits?"

Okay, @Knowledge, I'll start with a simpler question. Maybe you might actually know this. "How do you research traits?"

You can find items in the world with the appropriate trait on them. You then take the item to the appropriate crafting station and begin researching said trait by "sacrificing" the item. The number of traits you can research depends on your level in said craft and how many points you've put into the appropriate passives.

The trait then takes time to research. The items you need to research the traits can be readily found throughout the game.

    Very good. You are learning.

How many nirnhoned items do you have currently?

    Catch up to what?

I'm CP141 with 2 characters and level 41 with my third.

I'm in no rush to "catch up" to a carrot no one will ever catch.

There is already a way to get all the CP you want. It's a concept with a really unique name. It's called 'playing the game and earning your rewards'. I've heard it's a lot of fun.

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be snarky, but where is the fun in buying your way to the front of the line?

They sell fast passes at theme parks to buy your way to the front.

Except this argument falls short because you don't need skill to ride a ride, and just because you have those max CPs, doesn't mean you can put out the skill to back them up.

ESO isn't a theme park/amusement park MMO. It is largely a sandbox experience.

Yes, they do...and because I have a child with special needs, I qualified for that perk for free, but I never used it because my child could walk and talk. It didn't seem right to exploit a perk just because I could. Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

There's a reason this isn't a poll. To implement this would truly be pay to win. It would also lessen the games appeal.

People already do this illegally through third parties. ZOS may as well offer an alternative to us to get the money themselves.

I don't condone buying accounts but I am pointing out that it is a rampant problem.

I sure would love a way where new PvP players could join Cyrodiil with full CP and unlocked skills. Most PvP players I know hate anything pve-related with a passion and will go with unlocked skills/passives until they rank in Cyrodiil. I know that there is a no-cp campaign and battlegrounds. But during the weekdays, we sure could use more pvp players overall. So it makes me wonder if being able to have full CP and unlocked skills would bring more players to the game. Just my thoughts.

People really should give the non-CP campaign a try.

On the weekends, I see no problem with this. But during the weekdays, Cyrodiil could use more players, especially outside of NA prime times. Non-cp campaigns during the weekdays are pretty much dead.

So is slavery and other things. There's things that should not be done.

Did you just liken RMT to slavery?

    Did you just condone RMT?

Dude, go back to your other MMOs. Seriously. You obviously miss being able to buy whatever crap you want.

Please refrain from attacking me it's in violation of the forum rules.

At any rate, I do not condone RMT I am saying people are doing RMT all the time and "paying to win". If ZOS allows CP purchase for real money in some capacity it won't be any different and just benefits people with wives, jobs, and kids - with less time.

it's PAY TO WIN Dude !!!!!!!!! what the hell is that hard to understand .....who doesn't have the money to buy crows for CP's what about does players ???? think a bit it's not illegal to think ! there are country's in this world where 12,99 euro is a lot of money !!!!! they can not afford it... use your own power to get the CP's... not all in this world can be bought with money learn that thing for one's in this life.

Yes but other forum posters said CP won't make you a better player so how can something that doesn't make you a better player be pay to win? They also argue that it doesn't really benefit you that much and isn't very important. If this is true how can something that doesn't make you win be pay to win?

good or better player is not all about CP.... Skills > CP.... in my guild skills is over CP... u can be 1 million CP player if u die from own mistake each time u are useless for the group... if u do 2k dps also u are useless...if u have no clue about some boss fight u are also useless....if a 300CP know all the mechanics, know how to avoid *** to not die is better player then the 1 million CP player.

if u buy the CP's from Item shop will make it pay to win simple cos the cp system give's u some good passive buffs, gear synergy and more if u know how to allocate them for your specific class / roll u have in the game ....and a player who doesn't have money to buy the cp need to grind all the 720 CP now u understand the difference ?

u can be 720 CP in no time nowadays....if u play 3h a day .... u have plenty of XP boost u can have +100% xp boost....

2 good player both with same gear same class / spec / roll...one with 720 CP and one with 300 CP's which do more dmg or heal ? here i let u to guess
