I definitely prefer to work in medium.

On the other hand I am currently abusing Fortified Brass for that sweet sweet mitigation.

I tried that set for a while, but stamsorc/stamplar meta nowadays are all about bleeds, and bleeds do ignore resistances.

Which made me turn away from this set to more offensive heavy armor setups.

That would be a problem if I ever faced Stamplars or other Stamsorcs. Battlegrounds is all nightblades, DK's, stamdens, magplars and mag sorcs.

Plus it isn't like I have access to any other form of mitigation on a stam sorc anyway.

It's true tho. Stamsorc is the Worst now. It was only good with lingering health + there was no dueling and everyone was a potato

stamsorc is pretty decent at the moment with its very high mobility, extremely easy sustain and overall high burst.

How can you not sustain with
    crit surge
    Bloodthirsty
    Momentum
    Vigor

when you deal passive dmg with
    caltrops
    blade cloak
    Hurricane
    Bleed

and you can easily LoS with
    streak
    Major Expedition

while bursting with passive execution from
    your
    class passives
    dw passives.

What mitigation do you want that other stamina classes have?

After playing 3 Stamsorc (I played a high elf stamsorc before race changes and hurricane) over the last few years, I find them the easiest to take down minus the crit surge tanking. I almost never get hit with Dizzy, because I used it for so long. They can move and burst down Pugs, but it doesn't work against good players. Really good for 1vx, bad for fighting good players who will walk through or block or dodge a dizzy. There is no real burst other than Dizzy/DBoS. Masters d/w works well for it. After playing 3x stamsorcs focusing on 1vx, then playing StamDK. StamDK hands down. Class access to major fracture with a decent dot. I can run 1199 recovery in medium in open world, no one bashes resource returns from ultimates. And Dragon Leap. It's the most fun I've had as a stam player, just not the best class for 1vx.

Mitigation is great, that's why it's one of the best 1vPotato classes.
I 100% agree it's the best class for straight up running and potato tanking.
As far killing, it's the lowest tier.

Actually some of the best duelists I've met in game are stamsorc mains, and also some of the most ridicilous, animal tier players I personally know are also stamsorcs. Its a class that takes guts and strong decision making to play in medium armor.
But the end result is very rewarding. Also you really don't have to rely completely on dizzy swings, dual wield bleeds are your best friend as a stamsorc.

I personally feel home with the stamDk's slow heavy armor playstyle, so I roll with that instead. Maybe you really should have played a stamDK from the beginning?

I think you're right. Stamsorc was good for me with the crazy offensive heals when people were much worse. I see what you mean about duelist and get where you're coming from. I've seen a Durok's stamsorc shut a lot of people down. They are naturally good at fighting MagSorc, I'd duel in it. I speak from a 2h open world perspective. I don't duel, and will state it in future threads!

Honestly I was hoping for more of a reaction about how durok's lasting 10 seconds made the fight constantly reset. Stuff like that forces nb to run away and not fight. Same with Reverb.

Duroks is a really disgusting set :/

I think IF I were to run a stamsorc open world, I would probably prefer heavy armor over medium , especially for solo play,
as it makes it very easy to land dizzy swings while the natural resistance+extra heals keep you alive.

Tho if you really really want to run medium, then sadly dizzy swing is a very hard skill to use because it requires you to stand for a second and aim it properly. (And I do really respect people who run medium Ssorc and actually make dizzy swing work against me.)

Which is the biggest problem with medium armor Dk/sorc in general. Dizzy swing is the easiest countered skill in the entire game.

Stam Sorc's real issue is that the class is pretty much just a statball. Your play pattern basically consists of "sit on top of the other guy and hope that you out-damage the other guy"

You don't have burst windows built into your class like Nightblade, Warden or Templar, and you lack the same raw durability that DK has access too.
All of that you are trading out for mobility with your move speed and access to Streak. But with how prevalent snares and CC's are in the current game, and with the changes to Immov pots, and the inability to use Shuffle in heavy armour, Stam Sorc finds itself in a pretty bad place.
