Just a friendly reminder ZOS:

We know you want us to buy Crates, even though we already have thousands of Gems. So i get why they are unobtainable with Gems.
Still, we would like to be able to buy them with Gems, so at least give us the opportunity to buy those Mounts for a huge load of them.
2000 Gems? 3000 Gems? 4000 Gems?
All of those are better than not being able to buy them at all.
Spending thousands of Dollars for a CHANCE to get them is not really a sensible option.

Ive become so disappointed to the way ZOS is playing around with the crown crate drops .. having to gamble for what we really want or need to complete a characters customisation is just appalling

I’ve tried hardly to get the frosty horse which is a rare drop from this current crate but got nothing but frustration so I’m not playing their selfish game any longer ... I’ll just buy the minimum amount of crates in order to make enough gems to buy any wanted mounted and that’s it !!! SHAME ON ZOS

you are talking about the apex mounts that cost 400 gems.
i am talking about the radiant apex mounts that you can not buy with crowns and have a tiny chance to be in the crates.
for example:

the left mount is buyable for 400 gems, the mounts on the right side are also in the crates, but cannot be bought.
hope that clarifies it for you.
it looks like a lot of people commenting here don't know the difference.

A radiant apex mount shouldn't cost more than 400 gems.

radiant apex mounts are there to incentivize buying crates even though you have all the other stuff. they are a way to make money from the players that already spent high amounts of money, sitting on thousands of gems.
making it possible to buy them for high amounts of gems is more sensible than not being able to buy them at all.
400 gems would be way too low for ZOS to consider it.
i mean sure, you can want those mounts for 400 gems, or 1 gem, but it might be best to come up with reasonable prices that ZOS might actually consider.

And I agree. this should cost no more than 400...if anything. Then again, I don't mind them being almost impossible to get. it makes this chase after those even more entertaining and insane to watch....to me at least.

since you didn't know the difference between the mounts, you are most likely not the target audience.

if you read my last post, you might understand why the price has to be higher than for normal apex mounts to be even considered from a business standpoint.
personally, i do mind that these mounts can't be obtained with gems, but you don't seem to have seen any of the debates and threads here in the forum that discussed this topic. if you are interested in the topic, so you know whats going on and can chime in, search for topics about that and you will find threads where people talking about spending thousands of dollars and not getting those mounts. it fits nicely in the loot box / gambling debate that is currently going on, if you did follow that topic.

No, you can't buy them. The op doesn't mean the normal apex reward mounts. The "Radiant apex" mounts can only be gotten from the rngesus boxes, they can't be bought. Iirc they started the radiant apex mounts with the dwarven crown crates. https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26101 Adamant Dwarven Horse, Ebon Dwarven Senche & Vitrine Dwarven Wolf were the ones that can't be bought. The atronach crates had Cold Flame Atronach Wolf & Night Frost Atronach Steed mounts and Shadow Atronach Senche mount.

I would have bought a few of them if they had been offered for outright sale, even at a higher price. Buying the rngesus boxes to attempt to get them? No.

Agreed. I've purchased around 60 crates+ from each season and never seen a radiant apex mount. I have tons of gems, and can't even buy what I actually want from the crates. Lame.

I read quite a few threads about the crown crates in general. I've started playing ESO a little over a year ago and somehow I did not have a problem figuring out what crown crates are when I read the description. I might be lucky and get a thing I'd like to get or I might not, they're not guaranteed.. this is what crown crates are. Is it gambling? The jury has been still debating, apparently. People can't even decide on the definition of gambling. Personally, I don't care as long as these crates offer nothing but cosmetics. We all are adult people here, so we should know what we get ourselves into. You want the rarest mount offered in this system? Be prepared to spend thousands of dollars..that's the price of getting very rare items.
And maybe this is what "rarest of rare" means...not everybody can have it no matter how loud you whine about it because you are a customer and bought the base game or gods know how many crown crates?

Perhaps ZOS should be, indeed, more direct with the description of these crates in question...so people wouldn't have high hopes when buying them. Or maybe it's their marketing tactic to to get people buy more crowns and then crates.
Anyway, my addictions lie elsewhere.. not in gambling industry in general...but it's funny to watch from this sociological and psychological perspective how people complain about the crates yet still buying them by dozens or hundreds even.

But back to your topic after having read other topics about radiant mounts. No, I doubt ZOS will make these "radiant" mounts obtainable with gems.

I'm sorry but are you crazy? o.o 4000?! I think 400 is a lot. I only bought the horse. I think it is way to much money to put on crown crates and eventually crown gems up to 400. I prefer paying with crowns instead of gems. The average player who doesn't usually spend money or a lot of money in the store, cough me. Will sure as heck think it's crazy for mounts that cost 4000 gems. Not a fan of the chance process now, that any crate might give you a cool mount. But seems preferable.

your issue seems that you don't understand why these radiant apex mounts were put in. they are there to encourage those that already have thousands of gems banked to buy the crates even if they can buy everything else for gems.
thats why these mounts, IF ever considered to be buyable with gems, have to be very expensive.
ZOS wants them as an incentive to buy crates. they could do this through the current version, but also could include a buyable option for a huge price, to get rid of all the gems people have banked, which would then in return incentivise those players to spend more money on crates to be able to bank gems again AND buy the next seasons radiant apex mounts.
so its not either chance or buyable, it could be both at the same time, just as the other items from the crates.
there would be no downside to an additional option.

Just as a side note:
The Radiant Apex Mounts of the Scalecaller Crates will not be buyable with Mounts, which was to expect, i'd say.
Still not giving up on it, though.

This will be an unpopular opinion and I DO understand why, but realistically because of the way ZOS has functioned (or not may be a better descriptor) I don't know how much weight we can actually have on that. Although maybe someone remembers or has a example of ZOS making a big change as it relates to actual currency amounts? I honestly can't argue with people pay out the a** for certain things they want in-game. They have the coin

Many would say I do that too actually re: housing. I'm a proponent of the crown store because you can at least know exactly what you're getting beforehand (except for a preview option for clothes and certain cosmetic items., which definitely needs to be added.) Admittedly many things in the crown store are expensive themselves (i.e. housing, which I'm willing to pay for because I love it and while I don't necessarily agree with the price, it's in my means to afford it), but buying the amount of crates to get 4000 gems is definitely too steep/too much of a gamble for me. But hey, I guess kudos to those that are able?

Can't help but agree with the person that said to keep them as RNG drops though bc, yes, if they're supposed to be the rarest mounts in game then I think the model they have now works best to ensure that. But I'd be curious to see who is actually able to get them and after how many crown crates purchased on avg. If only like 3 people have them then maybe it's a time for a change lol

I agree. Because RNGesus really, really hates some of us, and regardless of what mathematical probability claims, we are never, ever going to win a radiant apex mount because some of us just do not win things. Those of you who have a normal chance at things I don't think can quite understand the feeling, but if you have literally lived for decades of never, ever winning anything every time there's a random chance, you just *know*. Some people are extraordinarily lucky, and some people are extraordinarily unlucky, and unless ZOS makes radiant apex mounts for sale, the unlucky people will never be able to get one.

You people need to stop buying and supporting the crates and these shady practices. If nobody bought the crates ZO$ would have no choice but to put them on the crown shop instead of these gamble boxes. Just plain stupidity! Stop supporting this shady scam BS and they'll be forced to change.

I was all for supporting the game (I paid for ESO+ and purchased crown packs regulary) but will NEVER spend for these scam crates. I will only pay for what I know I am getting. People need to stop supporting these scam crates!

On the contrary, my lupine compadre, many would argue that people not buying crates is partially responsible for the addition of the drop-only mounts in the first place. Locking the coolest things behind an RNG paywall is a pretty obvious, genius move when you want or need the players to spend more money; they weren't getting as much as they wanted, so they found a way to "force" a few hands. Not yours, obviously. But quite a few.

Back to the original point, I think 4000 gems is a fair price for each radiant; 16000 if they really want to be greedy and obnoxious about it. If each one costs the equivalent of a few thousand USD, so be it. Just let everyone know that there's a possible end if they're willing to afford it, and stop making people rely on luck if they don't want to.
