I recommend using the Clannfear morph until you can get the Twilight Matriarch skill. That way you always have a self-heal.

One quibble -- if somebody has enough rank in Undaunted to justify 5-1-1, they've long been capable of getting monster shoulders.

As for Boundless Storm -- that's pretty much a commitment to be in melee range, isn't it? And if so, doesn't Grothdarr (2-piece) become appealing (stylistic considerations aside)?
