I dont think it's a Steam issue

Takes a long time for the launcher to load, takes 2 minutes to go from password input to character selection and the load times for zone switches and from character selection to being in game is horrendous. I have an MSI z270 gaming pro Mobo, i7 7700k, 32GB RAM, twin GTX 1080s and a 1TB SSD running the game thru a direct connection to a 200 Mbps ISP. Im highly doubting it's a steam problem as I dont use Steam. I think that what ever is the overall issue is lagging the steam connection to timeout..

Curious why it takes OP 2 minutes to get from login to character screen... takes me about 20 seconds (when it's not broken). Let me guess wildly at the problem... maybe you have a fragmented SSD? (LOL, that's a joke there.)
I do find it curiouser and curiouser that I had a Windows 10 update pending when the problem started. Hmmm...0 -

And what you're relaying as "fact" Im getting the exact opposite from people I've been gaming with for more than 7 years. Some of us have actually met in person. And I will trust them over some one I've not met every time. Nothing personal but I dont just hand out trust like candy on Halloween. If the community Im in(well over 500 people across 3 discords and 2 teamspeak servers) says they arent having issues with Steam outside of ESO... Understandable. Then you'll understand that my husband of decades carries more weight for me. He's unable to log in to Steam, end of.
Now, the difference might be that we're in the EU, who knows. Fact remains and he's not alone.

You made me sneeze coffee on my monitor with the fragmented SSD comment. I gotta learn not to read the forums when Im drinking coffee,
But yeah... wonder if the issue is that the W10 update isnt messing with the game servers. Who knows. It was just an idea that fit the circumstances and may result in them figuring it out.
As for the 2 min load from login to char select... that was just before I posted this thread.0 -

I'll go pester my husband to log into Witcher and see if he can get in. Not sure what he was trying to get into a bit ago and totally failed. Will edit if he tries and isn't already asleep.

BloodWolfe✭✭✭✭I don't know what the specific issue is but for me it's with the ESO Launcher via Steam. I get to login and get the error but if I load the game up using the eso64.exe I can login just fine. Of course though, the stupid part is that even though I have until 22 Feb with my ESO+, it doesn't show up when logging in without using the launcher through Steam.
ZOS you guys really need to update the account system to reflect in our account page when we have subbed to ESO+ through Steam. My crowns show up so why can't the ESO+ show up too? That way when we can't login using the Steam version of the game we can still play with our ESO+ membership showing up. Currently, we are aware that some Steam players are having issues logging into the North American and European PC/Mac megaservers.
