Am I getting what I deserve for being a ganker?

Well the code of the ganker is, as someone posted earlier, "honor schmonor."

So I don't think a ganker has much room to complain about treasonous or dishonorable behavior.

The ganker that is loyal to his faction and hindering the enemies approach to the fight is certainly serving well. The only targets they generally find are being lazy with their approach.

I never understood the problem with ganking. Always when someone do this to me I just think that this way to keep is no longer available and I should respawn in other castle and try from there. But it's rare for me to get ganked, mostly because I'm ganker myself so I just use roll dodge, vigor and cloak. Then I start sneaking and because I'm using Night's Silence, the ganker is looking for me while I'm 20 meters away already. I'm also not the best ganker, so I'm threat mostly for zergs or players with bad heals, the problem is that DC and AD is not zerging as much as EP so I don't have many "easy targets". But I have fun nonetheless and I only hope that the person I succesfully ganked doesn't take it personally, because I don't have any business in ruining somebody's day, tho it's fun to see some hate in my pink /tell chat. For me honor in Cyrodiil is respecting your enemy no matter his/her playstyle, even if it's annoying you and also not switching between alliances during one campaign to be in winning side.

I never understood the problem with ganking.

Some prefer the convenience of the direct path but get upset with the inconvenience of getting killed along the way. They usually know taking a slight less that direct path will get them there almost as fast and greatly reduce the risk of death along the way, but that is not as much fun for them.

I didn't really know any better and just followed the crowd at the time. I can be a little naive sometimes, thought it was the 'cool' thing to do. :#

You should really stop "Ganking" as much as you are or you will go blind; at which point you will surely be a most miserable and myopic "Ganker" more so than what you are now!

That guy really needs to grow up, why would you take getting ganked so personally?

I get hit and die and I respawn and go back to winning this war for my alliance without another thought about it.

Oh no! I died, whatever will I do?. My poor ego is so bruised. Its only the millionth time this has happened to me.

This is my exact approach to PvP, I fight for the alliance (sounds cheesy lol)...I don't worry about getting killed ever. Only exception is when a lower level takes me out, makes me a little frustrated and I want to reevaluate my build. But then I respawn and start killing, and in turn, all is right with the world again...

Now, I see the word "ganker" and think "heck no, you deserve even worse!"

But that's because I played other games like WoW, so to me "ganker" brings to mind those PvP losers who thought it was hilarious to take their max level character and run around lower-level zones nuking defenseless lower levels/PvE questers who were surprised by one of the bugged quests that would flag you for PvP/guys with 5% hp left after getting hit by a patrolling elite/etc. Griefers who couldn't take a real fight, so instead they'd amuse themselves stomping on ants & pulling the wings off flies.

So, yeah... instinctive negative reaction to that term. ;)

In relatively-even voluntary PvP? Eh, stealth classes gotta stealth. They either two-shot you with massive crits or stunlock you so that you just have to stand there watching as you die. /shrug

Your gameplay is as honorable as any other's out there. To be fair, there is no honor. When a group of 10 people chase down a newbie or a soloer even to the very extends of the horizon. There is no real AvAvA. There is only $$$ and keep capturing. oh....and huge E-peen ego

I do the same thing. Take ego out of it, and it’s not too bad.

I just want my darn Pact tent. (Prefect).

Yes, because if someone from your own alliance is close you are not a good ganker. You just one of those who wait till someone is already outnumbered and than gank them.

Also if you use shieldbreaker i would follow you around the whole map to show ppl where you are and /w other players to kill you. :)

I got bored of reading all those comments about have honour in ganking, do it for the right reasons bla bla bla....

Its simple... you play a ganker then gank... no honour no shame no rules.

If its an opposing faction then kill it, no ifs no buts just kill it.

Once its dead teabag it till you see your twin chubbys pop out its ears, embrace the hate mail and just laugh in reply then laugh some more, this will get them mad, mad players mess up, players that mess up means more kills for you.

But to the original question, yes its wrong of them to tell others where you are but that just means you've angered someone enough for them to try and get a kill with advantage, i say your doing a grand job.. keep it up bro.

I do think what he is doing is worse than ganking. Rogues are not a new thing to MMOs. Hell not even to things like COD (sniper) Its also not like there isn't a counter to it. I actually usually place myself as gank bait. You have to be something like the top 1% of gank builds to actually drop me, and I don't need time to recover to start hunting the gankblade back.

All those things like the spy that runs the scroll toward the enemy, I find distasteful. I do wish there was a way the rule it out, but I think the only way would be to have alliance locked to account, with a significant penalty to change (like loosing all rank) That has some serious set backs too though. Sadly there is no honor among trolls though, so people like that will continue. I wonder though, how the hell do they find that fun?

I'm no fan of gankers. One reason I made my healer tanky af was to troll them out of hiding by faking that i got separated from my group, and I lol whenever one whines about getting killed. But I run with groups where the leader will tell someone to go snipe or gank a troll and that player literally vanishes and the next thing you see is the AP and XP from the kill. That's what you should be if you're going to call yourself a ganker. I've never done what the OP is talking about to players from my own Alliance, but maybe it's a signal that you suck as a ganker. Dunno. I'm not hip to all the cool pvp culture like that.

Should they first send you a whisper to dismount properly, buff up and do a ready check?

It depends what you enjoy of course. Some people just don’t enjoy beating an opponent who doesn’t fight back.

That’s part of the build and play style. You can’t go toe to toe with a Mag Sorc who’s buffed and shielded.

You strike while he’s unaware. Knock him off his horse. You know what kind of player your dealing with too. Good players immediately dismount once they hear a snipe whistle.

This honor in combat stuff is really tiring. Play this way....no, no. This way!!!

What you need to do is this:

      (1) When you successfully gank someone on their horse, you tbag.

      (2) When you unsuccessfully gank and then die in a 1v1, make sure you rage whisper the person for running a cheese build, then stalk them around Cyrodiil for an hour waiting for them to engage someone else so you can try to gank again; if you succeed see step 1, if not repeat step 2.

Deimos - Templar / Grand Warlord
      Sias - Sorcerer / Prefect
Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

DK IS NOT JUST A TANK CLASS. #PLAYTHEWAYYOUWANT

I think Cyrodiil would be much more boring if there wasn't stealth nor NB gankers lurking. It honestly adds an extra element to the game. If you don't want to be ganked, then sit on siege inside a keep, but if you're running about in open world (Cyrodiil, IC, Sewers) then anything is fair game. All of that also applies to zergs and "dishonorable" 2v1's etc.

Now having said all that I hate NB gankers and zergs. But I also realize things aren't fair in war and to win you need to take advantage of any possible situation.
