Being on the leaderboard for various things.

Bound:

• Final boss of a vet trial (except vAS HM).
• Weekly vet trial leaderboard rewards (except vDSA).
• Golden vendor (only for non-overland sets)

Unbound:

• PvP leaderboard rewards (campaign leaderboards and battleground leaderboards)
• Weekly vDSA leaderboard rewards (only when vDSA is the weekly trial)
• Boss loot from vAS HM.
• Golden vendor (only for overland sets)

Of course, the sets that are dropped will vary based on the source. I.e., vDSA weeklies will only drop Destruction Mastery, Archer's Mind, Footman, and Healer's Habit jewelry. Furthermore, there is no way you can get a unbound item from a set that is bound (unless it's an item that dropped from a set before that set became BoP, like the Ebon/Worm/Hircine jewelry pieces from vMoL before fall of 2016, but those legacy pieces are increasingly rare to find in circulation).

but when you are on it, yes you are wrong.

think about the pve a PvP player have to do, to get certain gear. While a pve player can just give someone gold to buy that stuff for ap.

Why is it stupid? My two PVP characters have to grind dungeons for gear and Undaunted Mettle, even though they were built specifically for PVP... One also has to grind Mages Guild (only at rank 8 so far). I can't pay ANYONE to do that for me. You, on the other hand, don't have to step foot onto the battlefield to get gold jewellery. You can simply purchase the gold gear you want directly from the Golden vendor, or you can pay a PVPer to purchase the gear using their own AP. You can even go through guild stores and avoid Cyrodiil/PVPers completely.

I'm so tired of PVE-exclusive folks kvetching about "having to PVP" when everything you want on the PVP side of things can easily be acquired with gold, or by repairing keeps for several hours... You don't see those of us who like to PVP complaining in EVERY PVE thread about Undaunted Mettle and so on.
