- Update 23Ice Furnace: This item set now grants Spell Damage, rather than Weapon Damage for the 4 piece bonus
We've been waiting for a class balance patch maybe 2 years now. Then they launched Warden.
Class balance patch has been pushed out to the mid year update.
No real explanation as to why.

The nerfs in this patch feel like bandaids to fix what they deem to be the biggest offenders, primarily in PvP, where I think the player base is a bit more volatile and likely to move on to another game as exploitative builds become more common.
Basically, Miats, perma block PvP builds and more consistent skill behaviour with regards to blocking and dodging were must fixes for PvP.
I think the off balance meta is something they want to get rid of so they can balance classes accordingly with real data that hasn't been skewed by the current meta. Sucks if you're a mDK, but it is what it is.
There some speculation that spell crafting is coming in the next chapter, so balancing now would be a waste of effort. Personally I doubt it, but there might be something of similar impact so delaying it might make sense from the dev perspective.

The hidden explanation this time (since it been pushed to the next patch multiple times) is, that they will surely first start to take a look to rebalance classes when they finished their concept of giving each class a heal/tank/dd line similiar to the warden, not 100% exactly like this, but somewhere near.

Let's just hope this doesn't happen.

They already said this was their current goal for the existing classes

What's wrong with that? I mean, them pushing back balance for that is stupid, but every class performing every role is amazing. So long as they have unique playstyle, I think it's great.

I would rather not have all classes not be great at any 1 thing, and warden a shining example of that.Besides I'm not asking for my sorc/nb to made into a healer or tank.Would much prefer that remain exclusively damage classes.

I prefer every class being viable for any role - that will be total freedom in playing.
Its game that wear title "Elder Scrolls", it should fit the name that brought many people here.

I don't *** care.If they do this.We are going to end up with 5 classes that can technically do all 3 roles, but they won't excel in any of them.Just like Warden.Anyone who actually wants this has to be out of their mind.
