Announcement of Chapter II - when?

Title says it all.

Chapter I: Morrowind was announced one year ago with a launch in June. Right now ZOS seems to be in the Dragon Bones advertising mode but I still want to hear news about the upcoming Chapter and it's features. The release date should be Q2 when they follow their initial plan so an announcement should happen in February / March - what do you think, when will we hear about it?

Good question. I was thinking about it myself because the announcement article for Morrowind was published one year ago, on the 31st of January:
    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/25911

So hopefully we will get some news for this year's chapter SOON ;-)

ZOS is continually honing their hype-management skills. It's all about providing a steady stream of events, announcements, buzz, and releases. Talking about content +2 when content +1 isn't out is just a waste.

Last year they changed the publishing model to DLC, Chapter, DLC, DLC so there was a bit more funfair for the first Chapter. I expect the next Chapter to be announced after the upcoming Dragonbones DLC is released

I look forward to any new chapter. Morrowind was a great chapter and experience. SuperB quality imho. Although a bit short content wise but well worth the price. And i have the CE. I will buy every chapters CE if the quality stays the same or better.

And no, i don't mind chapters cost money even if i have ESO plus. Sometimes i don't have ESO plus but i can still enjoy the chapter i bought.

The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

I will do the same! I bought the "Classic" CE and the Morrowind CE and I'll buy every upcoming Chapter CE when they have the same quality (journal, statue). $110 might be a lot but it's well worth it for me. I just love "physical" editions and when a CE has great contents I gladly pay the price.

i agree, yet, i still don't care about the dragon release as much as i do the next chapter.

the dlcs seem too similar to me, its just extra stuff...morrowind changed a lot of stuff and that's what i'm excited about = change!

So here is my big question about the upcoming chapter:

Morrowind was $40 and gave us Battle-grounds, a new class, a new area and a new trial.

It does seem that 1 year would be too long of a time for a new class and I am wondering what they will put in place of this class and the battle-grounds feature to justify charging $40 again for it. Morrowind was already somewhat of a rip-off when you compare it's price-tag to other video games and what content we are getting but now I am wondering what we are going to get in this upcoming chapter for our money. Will it be even less? Is there something else we will be getting in place of a class and the battle-grounds mode? Or will we actually have a new class only a year later?

This is what I’ve been wondering too.

But there’s been some datamining and we might be getting a system that was mentioned years ago - Spellcrafting. But it’s not certain.

If we get the whole of Summerset, that’s cool but what else could they offer with it?

I know many people really want it but I am praying it is not spell-crafting. There are so many useless and terrible abilities and morphs that no one uses that I'd like to see brought in to relevance before we have to expand the system to a near-infinite possible number of abilities that might bring a balance nightmare to the game.

But yeah this has kept me wondering for the last few weeks.

Morrowind in and of it's self was a disappointment.. it was NOT chock full of content, and here's yer volcano you can't explore taking up most of the map, and a buncha buildings you can't go it. They need to drop the chapter thing, make the new content DLCs, and sell the additional classes separately. Gating PVP modes behind a paywall just reduces the playerbase for those modes overall. Is there not enuff money coming from subs and crowns?

Morrowind wasnt announced until February right? I remember Homestead being out and conquered by the time Chapter I was announced.

I am a bit concerned that ZOS is behind schedule. And to justify a full Chapter release, it would have to match the last which did include things like exclusive emotes, a whole new class, and a motif conversion.

so far, we dont know if ANY of that fluff will be included in the new Chapter

Morrowind was announced exactly 1 year ago today.

However, last year’s Q1 Update had no DLC, so I’d imagine they’ll let the dust settle on Dragon Bones before announcing the next chapter. So yes they’re behind schedule, but it won’t release until June (probs late May early access like last time)

I like that idea. Well-said about Morrowind as well. The whole northern Sheogorath region was unable to be explored as well. No towns other than Vivec offer many services so while they look cool there is no reason to go back and they are dead.

Morrowind was able to generate a lot of buzz mainly because it was a lot of players' first foray into the Elder Scroll's world, and had a higher likelihood of bringing new players into ESO. I don't see other areas, such as the Summerset Isles, have nearly the same impact, so my guess would be that they will handle the rollout/announcement very differently than last year's new chapter.
