I don't know if this was posted here before (forgive if it was).
Elder Scrolls series have an amazingly complex religious system (with Gods, Deities, Saints and other minor cults) and they are often used for NPCs or enemies.
I think that building a worship system would greatly improve combat and role-playing in the game.
In my mind, it would work like vamp/ww skill trees, where you can have only one active at the time (if I'm a Akatosh priest, I can't also be a Julianos cultist, for example. Or if I serve Sheogorath, I can't also serve Mora), rather than the Guild System, where you can be at the three at the same time.
Also we would have active and passive skills, not only passive skills like Dark Brotherhood.
Well, this is just an idea that, IMHO, would improve the game a lot, making it more interesting than it is already.

No problem, you can have all of "tamrial" while the rest of us stays in Tamriel ...bloodthirstyvampire wrote: »We will rule one day vampires will rule all of tamrial

I personally like a plus and minus system. A biff and nerf. It can add worth to some sets and abilities or playstyles....at a cost

The second part of my post was in response to the topic of this thread, not your inability to spell Tamriel correctly.
As i mentioned in the old discussion:Kravinoth29 wrote: »...I don't like the idea of blessings/buffs.
One - a lot of those could be collected in one "diety".Shezzarrine wrote: »This would be interesting but as others have already said there are many, many religions in Tamriel. There are so many that they would just have to just the Cryodiilic pantheon of the eight divines and the daedric princes, which would make it so (for example) elves couldn't worship Auri-el instead of Akatosh and such which is a point of conflict in lore between men and mer. Even the simple system with 8 divines and 16 daedric princes would be very hard to balance even if it were only on or two skills/passives per line. Also because I know much of the metaphysical lore and things about these deity's the average player doesn't know I do not want to worship the deity who gives the best skill/passive just because it's the best and will surely be needed to min/max, not all min/maxers are uninterested in the lore.
Don't worry, vampires by backstory forswear both aedra and daedra! As you probably remember if you did the introductionary quest and followed the dialouge, which I presume a vampire lover would, riiight?bloodthirstyvampire wrote: »I Couldn't care less about those petty gods the only one I care about is Lamae bal
...my mind is pained by this misuse of a term!A Zealot skill where whilst in a group, you can stay in the safety of your own home and send 'thought's and prayers' to the group instead.
Need? No.Frankly I believe there is too much religion in this game as it is. We don't need more.
And that is the main point of what I want, in this or other discussions.Bleakraven wrote: »I feel those really set my characters apart from each other.
Or just have it be a drawback.cyclonus11 wrote: »I've thought about this and the possibility of unlocking a skill tree depending on the worship quest you embarked on. Only problem is that ZOS likes implementing many of the gods in the game (specifically Daedric princes) as key players in major questlines - usually as key adversaries (Vaermina, Molag Bal, Nocturnal, etc.).
Maybe leave the Daedric princes out of it?

Like... add "sacrilege" events, things you can do, but which will cost you a level in your "religion" skill line.
