We’ve decreased the damage values on numerous gap closer abilities – not just Teleport Strike, but other charge abilities such as Critical Charge or Focused Charge as well. Gap closers in ESO have no cooldown and can hit for extreme amounts of damage, so there is very little opportunity cost in forcing your enemies to use them. Decreasing their damage ensures that ranged players utilizing movement and terrain to maintain their distance are better rewarded for that advantage.

Gap closers became OP(zergy OP) since that moment ZOS added an unbreakable snare to make them connect.
And now they are fixing it not by removing the snares but by removing them altogether form the battle field.
Works as intended - no annoying snares anymore -- and no gap closers ... well at least something good came out of it.
PS: also look at the very best PVP eso streamers - no one is using the "OP" version of gap closer in their build already (except one - which made the entire build around gap closer). Looks like ZOS takes wrong people's feedback when adjusting stuff for pvp.

ZOS takes the wrong peoples feedback as a matter of course. Why change now?

It seems pretty logical that if they're doing decent enough damage to be considered an attack it's more effective than it needs to be.
Well in most well balanced games skills that have secondary or alternative primary abilities tend to have less damage than ones which are outright damage any way.Isn't the main reason to use a gap closer to erm... gap close?

Ehhhh, but by that logic then you need to nerf all the skills that do lots of damage but also have secondary purposes such as stuns, snares, and healing.

Gap closers should have some damage but it shouldn't be the same or more than a standard spam damage skill (personal opinion).

ZOS should shorten the range of all gap closers to be equal with the distance traveled by Bolt Escape and then tack on a 50% exponentially increasing cost...THEN you guys can say you've been nerfed.
