So another NB buff. Great. I’d love to hear what Templars and DKs are thinking about that. :D

Now go on the PTS and test this change out and realise that this change won't be changing anything for most nightblades in either PvE or PvP.

ZOS seems to differ on that statement.

Have you ever wondered why you see a mag NB every 40-50 players you encounter in PVP?

Yeah, because theyre a minority atm and no part of the meta. They need all the help they can get

Looking at my usual KDR and my AP/h I’m a fake Sorc, thank you. Most magNBs I encounter on Sotha Sil EU are pretty good, if they aren’t EP. But maybe you can tell me why the skill needed a buff when according to you it will make no difference.

As a stamplar I kinda think it's weird. I mean I don't begrudge classes getting buffs, great for magnbs.

I'm left wondering why stamplars (Templars generally) are still playing Highlander with repentance. When the logic behind this NB change was player ease of use? Friendliness of use? Not punishing?

What's more punishing than watching a stamplar (Templar) you fought alongside hit repentance first and your the one left chugging a pot. And vice versa. I'm sure many Templars become disappointed when seeing another player with repentance slotted.

While many will enjoy this i liked the fact i had to time my hits for my burst and pay somewhat attention. This changes just adds to the list of hand holding at its finest.

While it is nice making skills easier for new players to use it also removes any reason for them to learn combos or proper weaving in pve.

Perhaps it is "hand holding" and I'm usually against any such change, but in this specific instance, more "hand holding" is a good thing.

I don't think many people would consider me a bad player, but one thing I've never really grasped is Merciless/Relentless.

Sometimes you think you've landed a light attack, only for the game not to register it (or maybe it got shuffled/dodged and you just didn't notice) and then you "waste" a proc by accidentally just reapplying the buff when you thought it'd be ready.

Or maybe you've got a proc ready, but then the opponent nightblade uses cloak & all that build up goes to waste as the timer ticks down while your opponent is cloaked - or maybe someone just finds LoS right before you can use it and the timer ticks down...

These kinds of things make it extremely clunky in PvP and I personally don't find the skill enjoyable at all. In PvE it's even worse, as part of muscle memory you use it as soon as you've got 4 hits in to not lose any DPS.

I can't count the times I've used it too soon because the final light attack hadn't landed yet, or because you missed light attack with some skill weave & didn't notice with billion effects going off and everyone stacked in the same place so you can't even see your animations.

It's clunky, to put it simply. This won't affect the maximum potential of the skill, but it will make it feel better in PvE/PvP for players like me & I bet most of us have experienced the clunkiness every now and then.

So to you it’s just a QoL change when in reality it’s a considerable buff for the very reason you stated: Better and also worse players than you will get the skill off more reliably and more often now.

Speaking of being clunky I think more than half of the Templar skills would yearn for such a treatment, and the class does need love more than NBs.

The better players are already using it every time they need to.

Assassin's Will in PvP (which I think you're referring to) isn't a skill you use "as often as possible", it's a skill you use with your burst combo. "How often you can use it" has very little relevance as long as its travel speed stays the same, so as long as that and its damage stay untouched any QoL change is fine.

Also they're buffing multiple templar skills in this patch (sweeps radius increase for instance is deceptively powerful, you'll see). Which specific Templar skills do you feel are clunky to use?

This skill has become almost useless to me in Cyrodiil because of the lag causing me to be unable to land light attacks. This will go a small way to making sure i can at least proc a spectral bow occasionally instead of never like it is now.

Everything with a cast time or a channel, but specifically Dark Flare and Toppling Charge.

    My prediction:

    Very little difference in PvP.

A little more DPS for the less skilled Nightblades (me) in PvE.

There are so many times when I am doing my DPS rotation and see the proc come up only to have it recast because I was a split second too slow. Now I can recast and proc again. I need to test my rotation a bit to see how it behaves now...

I can agree with having the counter reset 8 seconds after the skill expires though, because sometimes in PvP you are in combat for so long, or I can also imagine a case where I am actually happy I have the "in combat" bug where my character never goes out of combat... 8 seconds should be reasonable to pick up where you left off without letting you save up the proc indefinitely.
    Playing since beta...

I think it would be enough if hitting the ability again before the bow proc just refreshed the duration rather than reset. We could do without keeping the stack if it expires

This skill change doesn't REALLY effect anything. The good magblades haven't all the sudden gotten 10 times better with this change. I mean this class already has the highest skill ceiling. Our burst has to be build up and timed using a clunky broken weave that miscast if you try to ani cancel la with swallow soul.

Edited out my bad mood snark

I am content with this change. It was needed, but I wonder how well managed it will be
