Anyone use Sellistrix Monster Set?

I've been goofing around on my Stamplar and I really like the CC and extra damage it brings to my jabs. The damage may not be to much, but the CC on trash mobs is quite handy if your group tends to pull alot. Ive tried kraghs, but Sellistrix seems better to me. I read some bad comments about the set, but it's ok for what it brings :)

I really liked this set low damage but the stun is very useful I wore it on magblade when I started to try soloing a few group dungeons
    Aussie lag is real!

I have it on one character, but I'm not that happy with it. I'm working around to changing it out for something else.

The stun is nice but the damage isn't high enough to be something worn permanently. Thing is the damage it used to do was worse, they increased it for Clockwork City but by only a couple thousand points, from 4k to 6k of damage per proc.

If only it hit for like, 12k. More like Selene's or Velidreth.

Stormfist does the same thing, and does it much better damage wise, and the stun is not that desirable in group content, since stunned enemies become CC immune and can't be pulled by the tank with chains.

    Sellistrix
(1 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
(2 items) When you deal damage, you have a 10% chance to create an earthquake under the enemy that errupts after 1.5 seconds, dealing 5030 Physical Damage to all enemies within 4 meters and stunning them for 3 seconds. This effect can occur once every 5.5 seconds.

    Stormfist
(1 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
(2 items) When you deal damage, you have a 10% chance to create a thunderfist to crush the enemy, dealing 1650 Shock Damage every 1 second for 3 seconds to all enemies within 4 meters and a final 8000 Physical Damage when the fist closes. This effect can occur once every 8 seconds.

I have used this set extensively on my stamplar. I have tried all the other sets on her as well, veli, kraghs, storm fist, selenes. None of them work as well as Sellistrix on my build. I know tanks generally don't like the stun but the thing is, if it only stuns one mob then the tank can just pull another it if it stuns a whole group of them, then the DPS(me) can just go to town on them when they are just laying there taking it. The extra group utility that this brings to the group is amazing and the damage is not that bad, consistently 3-4% of my dps. Not sure how you think it adds damage to your jabs. It would add damage to your dual wield attacks though.

Plus the helm looks real cool.

I like to derp around with it in pvp, when I enter with my pve toons. Endless hail and caltrops procs it constantly, half the enemy group on the ground:) nice when you're fighting at keeps. Won't be worth much in open ground of course.
And yes, it is also just about the only monsterset that looks amazing, other are ugly af

The only advantage that it brings to Templar actually comes from 1p. And that's only because Power of the Light scales on stamina alone. Besides that, the damage is lackluster. If playing solo the stun may be a boon. Also 3-4% DPS is negligible, on a 30K parse that's 1.2-1.5K extra DPS. If a monster set doesn't break 2K on a build, it's not worth using. On Templar, for solo, I would actually go for Slimercraw. That gives you Major Berserk, which ups your damage by 8% permanently and gives you ~3.8% weapon critical. That's important on Templar, since you have Piercing Spear passive that gives you 10% critical damage done if you have an Aedric Spear skill slotted. Provided you are running Rearming Trap (+10% critical damage) and have 56 CP in Precise Strikes, your critical multiplier will be 1.80. That means 3.8% critical change will translate to about 3.5% increase in damage done over a longer fight. So your damage will increase by ~11.5% while playing solo. Assuming a 30K parse with Selistrix, you will be at about 28.5K without. Slimercraw will bring that to about 31.5K. So Slimercraw will be roughly twice as affective as Selistrix on your build.

But you can't stun 6 mobs at a time with slimeRcraw.

I use it on my archer. Great for keep attacks. its the only ranged aoe stun. They back off the wall into a stun giving you one more shot.

@Asardes great analysis and I would never say use the set if you care about absolute min max.

Also what is a longer solo fight? Like in overland pve everything dies so fast, like under a minute, does that factor a long fight to you? Solo you need to do everything yourself, so that 3 second stun can save your life, giving you that me to heal or get a few more jabs in to put the monster down.

When I say Solo, that means two things for me: primarily Veteran Maelstrom Arena, and second, doing world bosses solo which is almost as challenging, and even more so for DLC zone ones, some of which are nigh impossible. Which I both do with my characters. Normal overland mobs are simply irrelevant: they don't do enough damage to kill me even if I don't use buff food and they are half dead by the time I swap to front bar, after 2-3 ticks from Caltrops and Endless Hail.

If I were to build a Templar for solo play I would go for 2H instead of 2W, due to easy access to Major Brutality and an extra heal from Rally, as well as the shield from Brawler. I would use 5 Vicious Ophidian and either 3 Agility jewels & 2 Monster Set or 5 Strenglth of the Automaton or 5 Hunding's Rage on body, with Master 2H on front bar, and Maelstrom Bow back bar. When facing multiple mobs simply put Power of the Light on the biggest one, HA into Brawler then HA into Biting Jabs once or twice, while the shield holds. I'm sure everything will melt and you'll hardly take any damage. Deadly Cloak from 2W is better for mitigating AoE damage (ex. fire on the ground), but for direct damage (ex. a baddie punching you) Brawler is better. Also 2W on Templar would pretty much force you into using potions, which are expensive, or Shrouded Daggers, which is hard to fit in an effective rotation.
