Should account wide Level Up Advisor rewards be awarded retroactively?

I admit I am envious and annoyed that I and many others have supported this game for many years now and have already maximised our character slots (some even buying expansion slots to continue doing so) and that new players will get free crown crates, mounts, costumes, crafting materials just purely and simply because they're new.
Why they cannot at least retroactively give crown crates per character that meets the milestone, every 10 levels, or even 1 per level 50 character is better than nothing.
Peoples only answer they seem to give is "buy a character expansion"... I already have them all, now i'm going to have to delete a perfectly good character and re level them just to get some free crown crates so I dont get shafted more by the shafting specialist, ZO$.

I don't see any reason it should be retroactively applied, and nothing is included that's going to make much of a difference at all to vet players. It's all fluff outside of the horse as getting a horse as a new player can take a little time until they figure out how to get gold.

Seeing as 1500 Crowns is what you get for subscribing, it really isn’t that bad. They could have charged more than the monthly for them just to force people to spend extra on Crowns.

    I have 10 level 50 characters.
Why should I miss out all those rewards because I played since Early access ?
    It is not fair.
Some people have multiple accounts with dozens of level 50 characters, those players will miss out many rewards if there will be no retroactive rewards.

ZoS should send the rewards to players who already have level 50 characters, either by mail or implementing the items in some other way.

What market? The mats market? Green and Blue mats are already cheap, as are runes that are not Kuta or Hakeijo. The total gold is less than what I make doing my daily Pledges and selling the loot. None of the awards will have any significant effect on the market.

He probably meant the irl currency market meaning you can keep getting the real $ crates

There really isn't anything to discuss here.

Other (competing) companies have introduced similar changes to their games and HAVE retroactively rewarded their players.

By ESO NOT awarding them retroactively they are essentially not keeping up with the competition, and making themselves look cheap. That's not a good look.

Can you imagine if a government did this in real life...

Children will each receive a new bicycle when they reach the age of ten, but children who are already 10 years old or older won't get one. People will get a free loot bag, which may include the keys to a customised motorcycle, when they reach the ages of 20, 30 and 50, but people who have already reached those ages won't. People who are already 50 years old or older will get absolutely nothing.

There would be tears. There would be riots.

But this isn't real life. It's ESO. So, it's ZOS's call, and I happy with that. If these rewards were made retrospectively I think it would be a nightmare for ZOS to work exactly what each player is due to get. Avoiding that cost has got to be a good thing, surely. There are much better things for them to be doing with their time and revenue.

I know I'll eventually level some more new characters from 1 to 50. The free stuff isn't going to disappear in the meantime. I'm prepared to wait.

It’s not that hard these days to level a new character to 50 ... you can do it in a day.

The target audience is new players for the leveling rewards (not seasoned players).

Slots are expensive. Is it really worth it to spend that much on a slot when a character can be deleted and recreated for free?

Sure, that’s fine for players who haven’t made a time investment in an alt character. Most players have some sort of time investment, however.

Thank the heavens this is a game and not real life. As I mentioned above, other gaming (competing) companies have already set a precedent for retroactively giving rewards, and ESO failing to do so puts them BEHIND the norm. It's NOT a good thing for them to look this cheap, and not be willing to execute the (simple) script needed to do this.

So at the risk of injecting facts into the forum, what are these items?
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/388819/pts-patch-notes-v3-3-0
Level 5: Two Green-quality Rings, part of a basic 2-piece Item Set that grants a Max Health bonus
    Level 10: Sorrel Horse
    Level 15: A choice of 6 blue-quality weapons
Level 20: A costume of choice and a Fire Atronach Crown Crate
    Level 25: A choice of 6 purple-quality weapons
Level 30: 4,000 gold and a Fire Atronach Crown Crate
    Level 35: A choice of 10 purple-quality crafting-improvement materials
Level 40: 6,000 gold, The Soul Shriven motif, and an Outfit Token
    Level 45: An Undaunted Key
Level 50: 10,000 gold and a Fire Atronach Crown Crate

You can also earn a storage coffer from the Level Up Advisor (detailed below) upon reaching level 18, if you have not already purchased it.

20K gold is nice; I made >500K last week, but that was high even for me, 20K is worth picking up. A horse every oldbie already has. A costume, nice. 3 crates, nice. Some semi-trashy items for levelling. 10 purple mats, worth maybe 4K gold. A key. The crates are worth 1500 cr, but there's bonus crates enough times now that it's not *incredible*, and everyone already complains about how useless crates are (I like gacha, but some people don't like fun). The coffer's value depends on how much they cost, might not be a big deal to just get it if you're level 50.

I don't see anything game-breaking there. If you don't have a level 3 mule to level up (I can play my recipe mule for a couple weeks for free stuff), or any empty slots, you have to pay for a slot, but then you have another character slot, it's not just wasted.

The point of incentives like this is to get new players or keep people playing, staying in the MAU. Giving it away just because someone wants it doesn't do that.

The horse is sort of a remedy to pay-to-win. Used to be, you either bought Imperial edition with the 1 gold white horse, or another DLC starter pack with a mount, or had to save up for the 10K horse before you could even start levelling horse skills. By level 10, someone ought to have 10K, but spending that might be hard; just giving newbies the horse evens the field a bit.

I would have levelled my characters anyhow.

I have much better stuff in my bank than what they’ll get.

This is a nice incentive both for new players and those who want to create alts who might not have done so.

There’s no great new stuff there. It’s simply a matter of “well he’s getting one why can’t I??”

But I think everyone should get one extra character slot for free (not that I will ever need it). One slot covers it all as you only get the rewards once per account anyway. And getting them will be the same for everyone... aka level up a character.

If they retroactively give players these rewards than I demand that ZOS give new players every crown crate from every Crown Crate Event retroactively. I also demand that I retroactively be given the Tiger Senche as Ive been subbed to ESO for far longer than a year on PS4. Its unfair that players that played the first year was given something that no one else was able to earn. Thats unfair.

I do feel for those with max character slots, and a couple of the rewards are something we all want, 1) free storage locker 2) costume change token 3) the crown crate. If those or something along those lines were given as a longevity reward, say having been on-line for X amount of time or some other reasonable measure of loyalty then I think all would be ok.
