jan 14 servers running like complete crap

pvps been an epic mess primetime on PC NA. not rendering, losing half my grp to crashing every single time we approach a keep UA, latency issues spikes that have no ended in hours, and lets not forget the random hand of doom that picks you up and drops you where you were 30s ago into large packs of enemys because the server finally caught up with that meteor that went off near you. Whats making the servers run even worse?

Seriously, worse than its been in a long long time. I would even take the "no sound" bug back in exchange for this. Terrible lag, load screens in the middle of fights all over the place, entire groups crashing, fighting shadowy, black, featureless enemies because players aren't being rendered. It's so bad tonight.

Yeah yesterday was bad on pc EU aswell. Might have to do with pvp pop at an all time high. Allmost all campainges fully pop locked and EP had a record with 70 people line into vivec.-

I really just don't understand what went wrong with all this lag. I see videos from a long time ago, and there will be like 200 people all beating up on eachother with 0 lag issues.

What happened?

Anti botting software and the lightning patch was when it changed for the worse.

all 3 factions high pop and i think the only annoying thing i had was 1 cyrodil loading screen. no noticable lag, nobody even mentioned crashing that i saw. i was even recording it there was so many people.

ZOS has basically done everything in its power to take that away.

Im constantly crashing atm every 5 mins, its infuriating, on the bright side, next patch I'm sure therell be a recolored mount and hat............

Ps4 na is currently unplayable in cyro cant get near a keep and you dc, gotta get the dlc money and actually invest in the game lol

It seems like people crahs out when the desity of players is high. My guild ran past ROE that was full with all 3 factions a couple off our players crashed and around the keep you could see crashed players just standing around.

The past few days (a week maybe?) Vivec has gotten way worse.

Last night on Vivec in the mid-evening fights around Ash we had to get used to fighting with 20% of the group crashed out pretty much constantly. There's always been issues in big fights, but this level is new.

I uninstalled my addons and their SavedVariables folder, and my performance drastically improved.

I also leave Vivec Cyrodiil during prime time. Best fix I've found yet.

I've been playing Paradox Interactive games a lot during prime time.

Best fix I've seen for my ESO problems so far.

I will remove my addon folder and see if that works. Only one addon in it though and thats awesome guildstore which was already disabled in the menu.

Out of curiosity, how much does stuff like shadows, grass, and water reflections hurt performance? On console we can't change anything like that.
