Same. I really feel like the selling point for the next chapter is the 'Somewhere never explored in an ES game before' route.
Let's just hope they can do it justice. This is Zenimax's chance to show what they can do in regards to worldbuilding. We know they can do a good job updating places we've seen before, but portraying Summerset will be by far the most challenging (and rewarding in my opinion) job that anyone involved with the series has undertaken since the original Morrowind.
I think we all need to take a step back and remember just how fleshed out Morrowind as a nation is compared to everywhere else in the lore. The sheer scale and diversity, the environmental detail, the depth that went into its political system and each of its unique cultures. Every province in the ES series was, at one point, intended to be just as fleshed out, deep, and strange in its own way. This is their chance to get back to that.WhiteCoatSyndrome wrote: »Summerset is supposed to have ruins made of coral (which may or may not be due to the Sload) in spots, so I would expect* to see those in at least a few places.
*And by 'expect' I mean, 'complain loudly and bitterly about breaking the lore if we explore the whole thing and never see them.'
Bethesda / Zenimax has a way of making me cynical as well, but I really hope they prove me wrong.
I personally would like an expansion for an area in Black Marsh but the Pact Races have had about 3 DLCs and an Expansion already, so yeah give the Dominion a turn.
Three? The Gold Coast is it's own thing, Orsinium is technically Covenant, Thieve's Guild is technically Covenant, and Clockwork City is it's own thing, just has a bunch of Dark Elves running around.
The only Pact related DLC I see is Vvardenfell.

No way! We have only one altmer zone just like argonians (Auridon and Shadowfen). Plus both DC and EP already got their big landmass additions (Wrothgar and Vvardenfell) while AD got literally nothing since release. There havent been even any altmer costumes for sale in the crown store so far...

AD also consists of Khajiits and Bosmer too.... why do the high elves get love first when people already play them the most?

I'm also hoping they finally fix the draw distance issue so we can actually get some vistas in this game. Looks like they scaled the fog down a bit in Clockwork City so there's hope yet. They just need to improve texture detail for distant objects and landscape to accommodate it.
If we have to endure more of this nonsense for the mainland, I'll be sad

I don't know what the next chapter will be, but I would like to finally get the Aldmeri Dominion area explored for once. Especially with Dragonbones being the first dlc, I see Black Marsh being a nice fit with the theme of EP area. If Murkmire is the next zone I will be disappointed for this will be a whole other year for them to drag out more Ebonheart Pact content. That is not saying Black Marsh won't be a cool addition, but not right now after we just got done with Morrowind. If the Dominion don't get anything here soon I may just take a break from the dlcs and chapter because I am tired of Nords (people can play Skyrim, Horns of the Reach, or Dragonbones if they miss Nord content that bad), Dark Elves (Vvardenfell, Clockwork, Stonefalls, and Deshaan), and Argonians (not much but Shadows of the Hist, however, I would rather explore an Aldmeri Dominion area that hasn't got NOTHING, than more EP content). As a Khajiit who grew up in Summerset, Elsweyr, and Valenwood, this one feels like an abandoned kitten with no purrfect place to call home. Little island Auridon, Khenarthi's Roost, and Eastern Reaper's March isn't enough for a roaming furr ball of Khajiit. Valenwood is good but could use some dlc dungeons for Bosmer along with a Bosmer style mansion.

Keep in Mind much of the Vanilla zones are incredibly bland in comparison to the DLC areas.
Summerset will probably look great.
ZOS, please update the base game visuals in the future when DLC areas outnumber the vanilla zones

I wonder if there will be snowy peaks on Summerset?
I also wonder if the new housing will be of a different architecture style(s)?
We will have to wait and see...

I would be ok with Summerset if it was more of an adventure zone like what craglorn is/was. We need a zone thats more group oriented or more challenging for us maxed CP players. And I would love if it added more daedra and oblivion gate type stuff.

...Yeah. I agree. It's why I'm so sad that they've finished Valenwood, I expected it to be something far more glorious and filled with all sorts of creatures.
"Before man or mer came to Valenwood, it was home to a salmagundi of creatures and strange civilizations; centaurs, hippogriffs, satyrs, minotaurs, giants, basilisks, fairy folk, hydra, and intelligent apes."
Yet all the creatures we currently find in Valenwood can be found in other parts of Tamriel as well. I'm hoping we'll get some hippogriff and fairy folk stuff in Summerset, even if just a little.
