New player experience/issues with the game

ibervangb16_ESO
Hello

First of I want to say I'm enjoying the game, and it does look nice. But I have some issues with the game. And the first impressions of a game, is importent. It can make you quit the game early on.

The game can be a bit laggy especialy in pvp. I can emagine this is due to the high graphics. But in pvp there just isn't room for it.
This brings me to PvP. I'm not much of a pvp'er, but i have tried it a little in this game. And to me, it comes of as being ridiculesly unbalanced in this game. I have been 1 shot, and 2 shot. I have tried where it was me and another that was attacking 1 person, and his hp didnt move at all.

Resourses. Trying to get resourses in this game can be a pain. This might be the worst mmo i have tried to get resourses in, atleast if you don't get an addon. I spend a couple of days trying to get mats for the first enchant writ i got. And the same with "cooking" (i eventualy got the poulty from a guildmate). And even with the addon I think i spend over 2 hours, running around, doing a little q's, every now and then while i was looking for that mat. It took about 1-2 days more to get it for the first alch writ. The alch writ im at now (the second or third one), i have had for 3-4 days. To me this is ridicules, and makes the game come off as a joke. And makes me quite confident, in that the developers has no clue, what goes on in-game. It should take this long to find the mat for your second or third crafting quest. Especialy when you end up spending more time, getting mats/looking for the right one, than actualy questing. Which it has been in my case, some of the day's. And i think i'm at my 4 or 5 enchanter writ, and i can't complete it, as i need 2 more levels (level 6) in the skill, so i can craft the glyph. To seems like poor planing from the developers. Again, they seem clueless about how it is in-game.

You inventory gets filled up so fast, so does your bank. I felt like i had to get the ESO, so i wouldnt have to spend more time running back and forth from the city, than actualy doing gets and other stuff. I get that you have to do something for the people that want to sub. But still it had to be said. And i do like my first month on sub, it improved alot on the quality of the game. If it wasn't for the storage for mats, the game would have been a pain, and to some extend, unplayable.

I have done a little PvP and some daily dungeons. And man, you just get gear thrown at you. I had to write it down, due to how your storaging works. It makes it come off, as you just had to do something different than other mmo's, and that you took the lazy route. It works really well for mats, as you can search for each profession and they are in alphabeticly order. Bit it works like crap for gear. As said, i fell like i have gotten a *** load of gear just by doing a little pvp and daily dungeons. And currently i have items for 24 different sets, in my bank. My hero is only level 20. As a new play that is overwelming, and as i can't arrange them my self, it is a pain trying to figure out how many i have of each set, and what set to use.

Lockpicking. The problem i have with this, is, i play on a PC, and the lockpicking tools movement seems WAY to sensitive, when it comes to moving to the sides. Often i jump 2 pins, just by moving the mouse a little. And i haven't increased the sensitivity of the mouse at any point.

I like how you can customize your skills. I whish that there were 1-2 slots more. But of what i have read, that is because of the console games.

Dungeons. My first experience with a dungeon wasn't so good. And i have heard the same from youtuber. You get in and these people just steamroll through the dungeon, and you might do something, if you arent trying to pick up from containers. I get that it isn't fun for those that have done it many times (i have done that myself in other mmo's). But it can ruin the experience for a new player. Guess this is the problem with level scaling. And i can't say how long it would take to get a group without it. Last time i did a daily, i think the queue was about 10 mins.

    I forgot something.

Hirelings. Why are they on a 24 cycle and not just resetting at a given time like daily dungeon and when daily's do (atleast in pretty much every other mmo). The only reason for this, is because, again, they are completely clueless about the game, and gaming in general. Or they are trying to screw over the players.

Often when i log out, my screen goes black, and i have to do an ctrl-alt-del, and apparently the game crashed!!!. I havent experienced this with any other game i have played. So something is seriously wrong with the game

Other than pvp lag, I can't say I relate to any of these issues.

Sound like a lot of your issues related to crafting materials and storage space could be solved if you just deconstructed everything you're not equipping. None of that gear is worth anything below max level. Make sure you're saving up money for bag and bank space upgrades. Keep in mind that your gear should be around your level but is ultimately not that important until you're max level.

There are lots of beginner guides available online to help new players. I'd recommend watching a few youtube videos with beginner tips.

I used the same training gear from 10-50. Just a regular blue crafted set. I have used the same training gear from cp 70 to 105. I’ll probably use it all the way till 160 if I don’t run into many issues soloing. I’ve learned that nothing below CP 160 really matters in this game. Once I’m 160, I’ll start farming my end game sets.

I deconstruct all the gear I get. Sometimes I throw some of the popular traited gear on the guild store for maybe 125-150 gold, but I mainly just deconstruct it.

You are spending more time than you need to on some of this. Join a trading guild and sell mats you don’t need. Go buy the mats you need for your quests with that gold.

As others pointed out, don't be focusing on sets while u level. It will take you forever to reach CP160 if you are spending so much time on inventory management. I sell everything white and green, and deconstruct blue, purple and intricate.
I also only change my gear twice before lvl50. Be more focused on getting a piece of gear that has training trait rather than a set.
You are right about the lag though. It is very off putting.
In general this is one of the best mmo's out there.

A few things for beginners that I wish folks had taught me, it’s copy pasted but should help

1 it’s a marathon not a sprint, everything takes time, there are no exceptions

2 with the exception of the loading screen hints you can ignore the written in game guides, they are limited and poorly conceived, google search is your friend, ever get stuck just type eso followed by the quest name or other concise subject and you’ll be knee deep in advice

3 explore everywhere, every nook and cranny as a lot of the loot is not obvious, also the biggest city in a zone will have a pack merchant to increase bag space, you bank will do the same but for all your charecters, which leads on to...

4 in time hirelings will eliminate the need to look for cooking mats, you will litteraly have more than you can use, in the meantime go into the menu using escape button and set auto loot (don’t do this for stolen items at first as it can be a pain in the bum) then just click on every crate box and barrel. If it’s not red you can take without consequence

5 containers in dungeons are an almost inexhaustible source of junk to sell to vendors as well as lock picks

6 first time round make sure to talk to the quest givers, many are very entertaining but mostly it’s because you simply wouldn’t believe the number of question threads on this forum that could be eliminated if players listened to the npc, also if one is accompanying you on a quest they will comment from time to time, don’t ignore this

7 YouTube has loads of guides on every facet of the game, off the top of my head there is elloa (pve mostly), deltia (system guides and pvp), time out in tamriel (great elder scrolls iTunes podcast and on twitch)

8 yes there are some a-holes but most of the time if the previous things don’t help someone in game will, just remember that when you use chat click on it first and set it to Zone or you will pretty much be talking to yourself

9 keep addons to a minimum, they slow the game, especially in pvp, I don’t pvp myself but several guild mates are former emperors and they are unanimous is saying that addons will cause lag

10 finaly, join a few guilds, if any don’t work for you just leave and join another, if they know your doing a group dungeon for the first tine they may be able to set you up with players that won’t just plough through. For example, I’ve run some dungeons so many times that I could do them blindfolded, unless you tell me I will assume your the same and just rip into it, select group chat in the little chat window and talk to us.

Lags, yes. Although many lags may be caused by addons.

Resources. Well, I have to disagree. All crafting stuff (and resource gathering too) is very very cool in this game. It's one of the best systems of all MMOs I've ever played.
Since you are a new player, you probably don't get it. But all alchemy and cookery mats in this game are not level-dependent. There's no reason for developers to make some kind of low level crafting boost with an easy resource gaining for low level characters, because there's no such thing as low level plants nor low level food ingredients. Also, (maybe I'm wrong here) I don't understand why you're asking for easy writs with easily gained mats. Crafting is a long-term process. I even would say that crafting is for quite special type of players, it shouldn't be easy for everyone and it shouldn't be given to everyone. If everyone is getting all mats, doing all writs and leveling his crafting skills easily just doing quests, without any research, without any exploration, without any grindy gathering then craft becomes useless. When everyone is a crafter then nobody would sell/buy crafted stuff.

Inventory. Don't collect a garbage. You don't need all those low-level sets unless you're going to stuck at the same level for a month. All that gear will be useless when you get a couple of level-ups. Deconstruct them if you want to level up your crafting skill, sell them if you want to buy some alchemy mats.

Lockpicking. I didn't have any issues with mouse sensitivity here. Works good to me.

Guys running through the dungeons fast and furious... Yeah, it happens. But also all this dungeon system works fine and you can find a group in every dungeon in the game. There's no such thing as low-level dungeons, no useless dungeons. Every dungeon has some useful stuff for every player at any level (interesting sets, Undaunted keys, gold, experience points). If you want to go through the dungeon at normal speed, to talk to NPCs and to be able to see all its beauty (dungeons are very beautiful here), you shouldn't use Group Finder. Type in the zone-chat something like "Looking for a group to do the quest in Fungal Grotto 1. No fast run, just normal walkthrough". There's a lot of players like you. And sometimes there're high-level players who would be glad to help you with that.
One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

PVP - I agree PVP feels insurmountable if you're just getting into it; I despise ESO's PVP system and so just don't do it.

Resources - You say "at least if you don't get an addon"... then get an addon! Addons are one of the best features of ESO on the PC so no point in depriving yourself. HarvestMap would be a big quality of life update for you.

Also, there is no need to do crafting writs at a low level and certainly no need to run around for hours specifically trying to gather mats for them. That's not what writs are intended for. Writs are typically geared towards higher level players/dedicated crafters. If you can't craft the writ, just go quest or do something else until you can. Get in the habit of looting every node you see and every container/box/bag and before you know it you'll have a huge stockpile of mats.

Inventory - You can upgrade your space once a day at the stables and there are cheap bag/bank increases up to a certain point too.

Gear - There is absoultely no reason to keep every set you loot, especially as you level. CP 160 gear is max level and before then you'll be outleveling your gear on the regular. Deconstruct what you don't want and don't agonize about sets til you're 160. Even at 160 I deconstruct absolutely everything I'm not planning on using. As far as not knowing what they are, that's what sites like alcasthq.com or this forum are for.

Lockpicking - I have never experienced the issue of increased mouse sensitivity with lockpicking.

Dungeons - You can't blame people for having a speedrun mindset if you don't speak up. People aren't doing anything wrong by rushing ahead since MOST players have done them already and just want to do their daily and get out. However, if you say it's your first time and you need the quest, people will wait, and if they don't they're jerks. Not before then though.

Hirelings - Can't say I have ever had issues with the hireling timer.

In short it's very possible the game just isn't for you, which is fine. I've certainly hated some MMOs I've played that other people seem to love.

My perception is that you're expecting too much with too little effort. There is a learning curve to every MMO particularly for intricacies like crafting and learning set bonuses. Just focus on questing and leveling right now. It took me over a year of consistent play to get my account to where I really wanted it. What's the rush?

I never do equipment crafting writs until I'm level 50 in that particular discipline. They require way too many mats. As they will want you to make like 6 daggers as opposed to 1 for the max level. Equipment

    Welcome to the game

Sounds like you're mostly enjoying it? If so, that's great. ESO+ is definitely recommended if you want to get into crafting, which you seem to have discovered already, but if you choose to you could always delay crafting until you hit level 50, unsub so you can work out if you enjoy the game long term (free of charge) before committing to a subscription. You will of course be more limited in where you can quest this way though, and won't have access to locations like Wrothgar (great storyline and environment), and the Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests, skills, and respective locations. So ESO+ does offer a heck of a lot these days for new players.

Regarding sets: Really, don't worry about them yet. Almost all gear in this game has set bonuses, and it's one of ESO's unique features in the market. It means new expansions don't have to raise the level cap to keep players interested in getting new gear - they can simply add fun and interesting new set bonuses to obtain, and old gear still remains completely viable. The reason you shouldn't worry about sets YET is because you aren't level 50 and CP level 160 yet, so any gear you collect you will quickly out-level (making it mostly useless). Most players only collect the sets they want to use when they reach max level, and very few players try to "collect them all" as a collection because of storage issues.

Lockpicking system: You'll get the hang of it! Oblivion's was different to Morrowind's; Skyrim's was different to Oblivion's; ESO's is different to Skyrim's. I hated it at first when I played during the beta, but it quickly grew on me once I understood how it worked.

PVP: It is indeed unbalanced as ****. Make sure you play in a no-CP campaign, otherwise level scaling really doesn't make up for the lack of extra stats your opponents have. Even without CP though you're fighting against opponents who have all their skills unlocked and fully morphed, with full set bonuses on all their gear, and fully upgraded gear. Stick to the zerg in this case and play support more than DPS if you want to help out. It gets a lot more engaging at end game though

Yeah, i found out about the bag space a little while back. I googled it.

If i'm able to pick up a writ at a low/mid level, i expect it to be a low level crafting quest. That is kind of common sense. Especialy when the stuff i craft, are the lowest level gear.

First of, i said i was enjoying it, and it is some small things. Second, you perception is completely wrong. Who said i put in a little efford. Runing around for hours, trying to get mats for the second writ i got, i would say, is putting in an efford. And at what point have i said i wanted it to be easy. At no point. You have no clue about what i wrote, apparently.

And im not in a rush to reach max level. Im taking it as it comes. I have never been in a rush to reach max level in a mmo.

Now that i have played it a bit more, i wish there were some things that where better/different.

When you craft with alchemy or enchanting, it would be nice if it "saved" the recipe for you. Especialy when you seem to do the same few writs in the start. I can't remember the recipe for this.

I think their achivement list is sloppy made. Way to many things are cramed together. I would be nice if it was listed in zones, not just just entire factions. I can't seem to see if i have completed everything in a given zone, due to how it is createt. Seems like they took a little shortcut there.

There seems to be quite some delay, if you buy stuff of the guild stores. Most of the time i have had to relog to get the item(s) i just bought.

This might be because i didnt due things in the order it was proberly ment to. But i leveled in a different area, with some friends. But then i had to do those cold harbour quests. And when i completet it, and went back to the city, a new one pop up. This happened several times. So i spend about as much time, running back and forth from cold harbour as i did doing missions in could harbour. Which i think is poor planing from the developers side. And leveling i did with my friends, i did with my friends, i did with a race of a different faction than theirs. So the only quest i couldnt do near them, was the cold harbour. So i had to find out where i had to go, as when i pressed the button to see where it was at, it took me inside the cave. This is annoying in several mays. I couldnt see where i had to go (guess that is part of finding it, but when you are in a different area). I had to leave the area i was leveling with my friends, even though the same named building was right where we were.

The game can be overwhelming to a new player as there is so much to it.
I'm new since last May. I've been mostly questing, crafting and doing the DLC quests.

I did try out PVP and got one and two shotted by other players. I fully expected this as I'm still learning the mechanics and rotation of my class and I was only level 30 or so. But such is pvp. You will die a lot until you learn. I do plan to go back and do pvp but there's plenty other stuff right now that I'm doing.

I didn't worry about gear sets until just last week when one of my toons hit level 50 cp160. Now I'm farming up some set pieces and will be able to craft some next week when my research is up.

Don't try to do everything at once; it pulls you in so many different directions you'll end up confused.

Yes agreed, it is annoying, but you only have to port out of that zone to a different zone and it will pop. You don't have to log to get it to pop mail.

I think a lot of your problems stem from your level if I am being honest. I wouldnt expect PVP or Dungeons to be a great time at level 20. In PVP, most good players hit record when they see a bunch of level 20's so they can pretend they can 1vX on youtube.

The game is definitely overwhelming, and storage is definitely a huge issue. I have maxed bank, bags, and horses on 14 toons and I still run into problems. Now that we can change traits, its a little better. You really just need to save one of everything if you are a collector, but at level 20 it is ALL decon material. Other than maybe one jewelry set every 10 levels or so, any gear you find should be deconstructed until you are at CP 160 in order to level your crafting skills. None of it has any real value in the economy, and by the time you collect a full set of anything, you will have out leveled it. The only thing worth saving at level 20 (other than gold) will fit in your crafting bag. And yes, it's a dirty move by ZOS to get people to subscribe.

My advice early on is to focus on the story. Treat it like a single player game a bit at the beginning. By all means group up for stuff, but most organized group (end-game) content is going to be a bit rough for a while. Try a bit of everything to see what it is you like and dont like, so that when you do get to the gear cap, you have a bit of direction. The only gold you should be spending at low level is to feed your horse. Make your first goal to get to level 50 with a very well rounded character, with as many skill, weapon, and crafting lines leveled as possible.

And i can't say how long it would take to get a group without it. Last time i did a daily, i think the queue was about 10 mins.

    1. PvP on this scale will be laggy, no matter what pc or server you put it on. Thats the way its going to be with 120 people running around, with a huge map.

    2. Resources are quite easy to obtain really. If you do your normal quests and delves along the way to level 50 (or cp160) you will find an abundance of materials in chests and in the wilds. Assuming you didnt got carried in Skyreach that is...

    3. Both inventory and bank-slots can be bought for gold. Your inventory starts with 60, and it can be upgraded with 10 at at a time, combined with the mount-training you can get upto 200. As for the bank same story, but without the mount-stuff.

    4. As for the gear, you arent meant to save every single piece you get. Try to save stuff that you want to use, deconstruct the rest for materials (see point 2).

    5. Skills are fine they way they are. It has been a choice to do it like this and frankly, its one of the few mmo's out there that doesnt swarm you with a huge skillbar, wich a huge boon in heated combat.

    6. Regarding lockpicking: try lowering the mouse-sensitivity. Easy solution.

    7. As for dungeons: it happens in any MMO. People tend to steamroll, because they think every minute wasted is gold wasted in any game. If you dont like it: go play a singleplayer game. As for the long wait-times: thats the life of dps in any mmo.

All of the crafting writs you receive are based solely on the skill points you put into your crafting skills.

As a new player you're not going to have a lot of crafting items just sitting in your bank/bag - it takes a long time to build up an inventory to the extent where you can complete 6 crafting writs in about 3 mins.

If you're finding it hard to find certain materials, go and look at the guild stores, there's nearly 200 of them. Some people sell stacks of materials for next to no gold. Or open up a zone/guild chat and ask for the stuff - there's a lot of decent players out there who are very willing to help a new player.

I have to say I hear you about resources, when I first started they were hard to find. However once i learned to decon stuff, mats ceased to be an issue for gear. And, once I had a few hirelings and started doing Provisioning Writs, ingredients were not easy to find either. However once you start having either hirelings or doing writs, or both, ingredients are easy. As others have stated, I would not worry over much about Gear Writs, they are just going to cost you mats. Consumable Writs are a net gain in resources so those are worthwhile to do at any level.

Also there are some recipes that scale up with you, so you need to really only focus on a few ingredients. We just had a couple events end so some of those scaled recipes are cheap in the guild stores.

As for gear, for low levels, just use Mob Loot. Decon it once your done or outlevel it. Otherwise decon everything you get that you don't wear. Decon is the best way to level gear crafting and enchanting. Well, with enchanting, making Glyphs is good too.

If your PC/NA, send me an email in game and I can get you in a couple of guilds that are awesome for new players. Send it to @Nestor

As for Storage, get the first two character Bag Space upgrades, they are cheap. Get some bank space upgrades, but they are expensive. If you need Gold, Legerdemain (stealing and fencing) is just a way to print money in this game. Get to Daggerfall in Glenumbra and find the ships near the Waysrhine there. Tons of containers, and no NPCs. Also, lots of Provisioning Ingredients to steal and Launder (which also levels your Legerdemain)

Finally, use some of your character slots to roll some inventory mules to store whatever you might want to keep for a while. But, as others have said, leveling stuff is not worth keeping, unless your gathering it for an alt your going to level.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Hello

First of I want to say I'm enjoying the game, and it does look nice. But I have some issues with the game. And the first impressions of a game, is important. It can make you quit the game early on.

The game can be a bit laggy especially in pvp. I can imagine this is due to the high graphics. But in pvp there just isn't room for it.
This brings me to PvP. I'm not much of a pvp'er, but i have tried it a little in this game. And to me, it comes of as being ridiculously unbalanced in this game. I have been 1 shot, and 2 shot. I have tried where it was me and another that was attacking 1 person, and his hp didn't move at all.

If you really want to play and enjoy PvP in this game or most any MMO you need to join an active Guild and get on voice comms and engage with other people. PvP in ESO is primarily a group activity. There are folks who enjoy soloing, but it takes experience and that requires patience.

In terms of the perceived imbalance much of that is the imbalance of skill and skill requires time and practice to forge. Start in Kyne if you are under level 50 or the No CP campaign if you are level 50 and find an active Guild that is willing to teach you. (Of which there are many.) If you are AD on PC/NA then PM @eastty and we'll get you trained up. :)

You should approach your first character like you're playing an elder scrolls game. Loot every container pick every lock. Make an alt sometime down the line for thieving. Run dungeons if you want but only use the sets that drop from dungeons for dungeons. Use your own crafted gear or quest drops for questing. I never did crafting writs after the first because of how time consuming they are. Don't use addons on your first toon(except maybe the one that lets you put flags on the minimap so you can mark out resource locations). Only use the guild traders for crafting motifs and the mat you need to craft that motif.

Once you hit 50 and completed the main quest for your faction then you should branch out. That was my approach.

An Amigor's duty. OMFG, what a *** quest. Must be in incompetent person that designed this piece of ***, of a boss fight. You can't roll out of the zone because either the game won't react of the zone gets to big. An interrupting didn't do ***. Nice to add in a huge aoe zone of instant death. That just shows a speciel level of incompetence.

And mobs chasing you. What a joke. They chase you so far, and if you stop to fight them, they reset when they are ½ dead. Either reset before the damn fight, or don't reset doing it. Can't be so damn hard.

Yeah I crafted my gear every 10 levels just to blue with training. Could have probably kept my level 20 set all game, so don't waste any purple or gold tempers till your at cap (50 cp 160), and know what pieces you are going to run. You may even have swap out pieces, so another reason to save money and tempers.

As for storage, buy 1 month of ESO plus, move everything into it, then cancel if it's a financial burden, you'll keep everything in the bag, we'll, in the bag till you remove it. Break down everything for cash and or research it, and be sure to sell anything intricate to build up cash, which after level cap almost gets thrown at you if you just do the daily 3 undaunted pledges with their accompanying dungeons, normal first, then come back on vet once you've seen it.

PVP is like most other fames/servers if you have 40 man groups clashing, lower some basic settings like shadows and waters, while keeping character draw distance, etc up.

If you want to start in PVP, I highly recommend Joy Division's guide as a great, in-depth introduction: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/360956/joy-s-advice-for-midyear-mayhem-event/p1

My general advice for all newbies in PVP:
    • Wear impenetrable trait armor. You'll be going up against experienced players, there's no need to let them get extra critical damage on you. Wear Impen and you'll get one or two-shot less.
    • Get tanky either with health or resistances or heavy armor. You'll want to be tankier than you would be in PVE. Sure there's a tradeoff in damage you can deal or heals you can do, but you'll gain in experience as you survive long enough to actually pay attention to what's going on. Its hard to learn when you get one or two shot every time you see an enemy, so get tanky.
    • Run with a group. Safety in numbers, plus it does take numbers to be effective in PVP until you've learned the ropes of how to play in PVP. With the AOE caps on damage being removed, the more organized the group you follow, the better.
    • Pay attention to what's going on around you. Watch when players retreat and when they push. If an enemy group seems really organized, you don't want to be in their path. Standing in siege weapon fire is like standing in stupid during a boss fight - only do it if you really trust your healer. Definitely pay attention during the starter quests to the different types of siege and how to use them.
    • Nameplates and Alliance Indicators are super helpful to tell at a glance which players are friend or foe.
    • If you are a stam build, a bow is great for ranged fighting. If you are magicka, slotting a resto staff will mean you never lack for something to do in a group and you'll get extra healing AP.
    • Feed those nags! Cyrodiil is all about speed and the faster your horse is, the more likely you'll get to the fight before its over and you're more likely to avoid getting ganked.

Most of this I learned after the PVP bug bit me while I was trying to get my Cyrodiil fish for Master Angler and my skyshards. Whatever I haven't said, Joy_Division has covered and probably better than I could say it.

What guild stores in this game is such a joke. I have tried several times now, where they just stop working. Seriously, who designed/okayed this piece of s... and thought, this is good. They must not have any respect for the work they dont. Or care for the work they do. It is the worst "auction house" i have experience in a game, by far. Just because something is different, dosen't make it better. Who ever designed/okayed this, shouldnt be allowed any where near anything that involves computer work

Now realize all of the replies in this thread and return the the point he's making "new player experience."

The new player isn't going to know these things. They're not going to know to junk pretty much everything they. They're not going to know, those annoying green daily icons popping up so much are usually writs and nothing something until later. Etc.

Just got my brother to start playing and even in voice chat trying to explain these things to him, he defaults to trying to grab everything thinking it's important.

This game becomes more and more of a joke, the more I play it. I can see why they had to remove the monthly fee.
Interupting dosen't work most of the time, neither does escaping. I tried several times against the same *** boss, that it said to press X, which i did, which caused me to get instant killed. Spamming W (to roll out) didnt do anything most of the time, but atleast i didnt get killed, when i did that. Bosses spams AOE ability's with instant kill functions. Horrible designed mob and boss fights. These thing can't be designed by gamers, they are to much of a joke, and *** designed for them to be. They can't be designed by people who care about the quality of the work they do

So, what are you playing? What level are you? What gear do you have? What food are you using? Which potion are you using? What are you doing in the fights?

Only asking because unless its a world boss or trial, the game has been changed a lot. Even group challenges in public dungeons can be soloed. [If I can manage it, just about anyone should be able to do it.] Interrupt works fine for me with shield bashing or dual weapons. I very seldom bother to roll/dodge at all. 15 characters so far on one account, and I'm still having fun playing.

Level scaling is garbage. You're as strong now as you will be at max level since you can pretty much kill anything. Only places where level matters is in veteran dungeons and trials, and in PVP. You might get to 1v1 a world boss at max level and solo a dungeon on your own. Funny how more than half of these are things you've already experienced at low level but you just didn't solo some of it.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you were at the Siren boss in Vvardenfell. She is a DLC World boss so you need more players, and while I'm sure some top players can solo her, that is not a general rule.

Her attack with a Synergy can be a pain if she snares you AND gets her other AoE attack on you as well. Again, being in a group (or just having other players there) helps so she doesn't reset if you die.

But with world bosses, you need to be prepared to die a few times until you learn the mechanics, and even then some of them will still kill you.

God, I love reading about some low level player complaining that he can't survive a world boss (alone?). Really makes you wonder if the one loading screen tip is enough of a hint about world bosses...

This one is especially funny as it seems to with an extra attitude :D
