Are there going to be incoming changes to the item set [Earthgore]?

One of the upcoming changes many expected was a rebalancing of the Earthgore set. ZOS announced that they were looking into the set, stating in this post that they also found it to be overperforming.

As of the 3.3.0 Patch Notes there has been no mention of the set being rebalanced. I am curious whether we will see any balancing during this update, or if the set will continue to overperform.

Some personal opinions I have:
  • The cooldown on the set is fine. It is the healing combined with ground negate component that is overperforming.
  • There have been many discussions across various boards about whether it is the healing or the negate component that are too strong (some say both). I personally believe the healing component is what is overperforming, but welcome thoughts regarding this issue to be discussed further here.

I'd love to see others' thoughts on whether this set should continue to exist in its current state, or if most agree that the set needs rebalancing this update.

    I feel like most everyone is onboard with changing earthgore. It just was skipped in the PTS. I thought it was even acknowledged in the December combat changes?

    IDK if you mean in PvE, but in PvP land it's kind of gamebreaking.

    Reduce healing by 40% more in pvp if it's a pvp issue. Would even help tank drama in another thread.

    Like all other useless helms...for healers.You can still be hurt by sorc negate. It's counter play to some powerful ultimates. It's only counter play sorc negate. It's fine.

    Mind explaining how negate counters EG when EG itself auto negates negates - along w/ any other ground placed effects, and the EG heal does not count as a ground placed effect and is thus not negateable?

    As an aside: yes, Gina did seem to fairly explicitly signal incoming earthgore nerfs last month...

    We’re also beginning to look at ways to improve group combat in Cyrodiil, particularly when groups of varying sizes fight each other. Some specific concerns we’ve been looking into include:

      [*] Not enough effective options to deal damage to clustered groups from afar
      [*] Earthgore is too powerful in group vs group battles
      [*] Not enough diversity in Ultimate choice
      [*] Large groups can have players take on specialized utility roles, reducing counter-play options against them


      We’re still talking about what exactly we’ll be doing, but once we have a better idea of the direction we’re taking, we’ll include it in one of the next combat updates.
      So, if EG isn't being reworked before this thing goes live I'd say we at least deserve some communication about why not.

      Just remove the healing component or make it comparable to the healing morph of negate. 2k/sec HoT or sth

        Agreed, this thread is pretty much just looking for communication. It's considered a bane of PvP to many people, so I think hearing ZOS's initiative on the matter would be great!

        The latest update:
        Earthgore: This item set’s proc now only dispels one enemy Area of Effect ability in its radius, instead of all of them.

        Thoughts? I strongly doubt that leaving the significant heal alongside the ability to still negate 1 effect will make any group drop the set. It's still ridiculously strong...

        They most likely will not lower the healing portion of the set by any significant amount. Because if they did it would lower its desirability and its power advantage is partly driving sells of the dlc where it can be obtained. I cannot see them changing it much if zos is still making profit off it.

        Agreed. How long has stam warden been dominating PvP now? You would think that they would have made some balance changes in the first 2 weeks of PTS to get some player/gameplay feedback but it looks like they want to keep milking the cash cow until the next chapter releases.

        Agreed with Glory. Make it so it heals 2-3 players at max throught a longer time period so the Healing Per Second is decreased. I think this solution might not gamebreak PvE and fix the set in a PvP scenario.
