"Boss enemies can only be set Off Balance once every 15 to 20 seconds. After the first Off Balance debuff ends on a boss enemy, they will be immune to subsequent Off Balance debuffs until this immunity duration is over."

    Yeah, this kills my Heavy Attack Lightning Staff sorc for good.
    Other builds won't suffer as much, but still some. Exploiter passive might not be important anymore.

    With 15 second Cooldown: 26,6%
    With 20 second Cooldown: 20%

    Not usefull anymore.

    Looks like the idea is to do heavy attacks when off balanced for resources and do damage when its down. I like this idea more than just a monotonous boring rotation.

    There goes my magDK heavy attack build... With every patch I am always amazed how ZoS has no idea what is happening...

    We just got a major buff to traits and Charged just went back to being useless again... I can’t believe this is actually happening...

    Well that wasn't the statement but I'll bite. Its patch day 1 and you claim that it is no longer beneficial. Have you done the testing needed and figured it out?

    Stop making absolute doom and gloom statements by looking at notes. Everytime people here do that on patch day and somehow the DPS ceiling seems to only go higher.

    I'm pretty sure Off Balance will still be usable; Sorcs just now need to use an ability spam 80% of a boss fight while Off Balance is on cooldown. So, Heavy Attack Sorcs are dead. Off Balance itself is not.

    Conduit has the right of it. The relevant change here, is:
    Boss enemies can only be set Off Balance once every 15 to 20 seconds. After the first Off Balance debuff ends on a boss enemy, they will be immune to subsequent Off Balance debuffs until this immunity duration is over.

    At the moment, groups are optimizing to get Off Balance uptime very high as a raid buff, and many, many builds put 75 points into the Ritual CP tree in order to access the Exploiter passive to take advantage of it. With a possible 20 second cooldown per proc on large targets, Off-Balance will no longer be worth optimizing single-player or group builds for, as far as I can tell.


    This is a nerf to overall group DPS, heavy attack build dps, lightning elemental utility in groups, and... well, that's enough to be going on with, huh?

    You should preach to all those whining about mDKs not getting anything this patch. Cyro is going to be a blast this patch with these changes.

    It's a slow skill at no cost... I don't want that, you know why? Because ZoS will start charging you magicka for using it.

    They need to roll back or they'll ruin the only reliable spammagle the class has...

    magepal didnt get anything this patch for now.. the bugfixes are for pve as far as i know

    Thaumaturge is still a pretty useful CP star, so I imagine that people will in some cases still have Exploiter.

    Concussed isn't going to be effected right? Minor vulnerability lasts 4 seconds but I haven't heard of a cooldown.

    Good becuase half the heavy attack sorcs i ended up with couldnt even heavy sorc properly

    I understand where you're coming from here but I'll have to see how this actually works in practice before concluding that it's a good idea.

    It's one thing for PC players to say "no big deal, we just need to have everyone do something different when Off-Balance procs" ... because Raid Notifier or some other addon will probably flash big glowing text on your screen that says "BOSS OFF-BALANCE, DO SPECIAL STUFF NOW."

    Console players, however, are not so lucky. We'll have to rely on ZOS's oft-broken and unreliable combat text/buff trackers and verbally communicate off-balance status changes.

    It may be fine, but I'm not optimistic.

    Off-balance might no longer be worth speccing into for Magicka characters, but Stamina characters will always have the exploiter passive no matter what. So healers using lightning wall will still be very important.

    Also don't forget that trash mobs will still be able to be set off-balance 100% of the time.

    I get ~100% off-balance by myself on slimecraw as a test boss. Unless you let it run out you can still use it very effectively. Put on charged with shock enchant on one or two sorcs and enjoy awesome sustain for the whole group.
    The double resource return is pretty damn nice.

    The cooldown is currently about 10 seconds, so not as high as the patch notes indicated.

    I agree. ZOS has to make this intuitive so that it benefits all platforms rather than only the addon enabled ones.
