Think furnishing before buying. You can't furnish it by yourself in fitting style.

I bought it for special purpose for crafting tables. I just needed one large and flat area, and there was such above inner entrance door.
On hiatus. PC,EU,AD - crafting completionist - @helediron 900+ cp, @helestor 1000+ cp, @helestar 800+ cp, @helester 700+ cp - Dragonborn Z Suomikilta, Harrods, Master Crafter. - Blog - Crafthouse: all stations, all munduses, all dummies, open to everyone

You are going to need to befriend someone that can make the diagrams/praxis or get the diagrams yourself if you don't want to spend a lot of money decorating to look halfway decent.

Also a good point. I'd be buying it furnished but I'd still want to move things around and add stuff to make it my own.

@Apache_Kid - I can make quite a number of the Clockwork diagrams. Look me up on NA-PC server sometime if you would like help. I realize that you bought furniture with the house, which is a really good idea. I did the same thing for Tel Galen house for much the same reason. To this very day I'm struggling to get the Telvanni Diagrams that I want to finally make this house look like what I really want it to be. It is unfortunate but they're squeezing dollars out of us this way. Personally, if I can't earn it myself in game though I'll lose interest. I think ZoS needs to be careful how they do this because part of the fun of building the house is doing it yourself like in Skyrim's homestead (or was it hearthfire) dlc. I am also running into this problem with the Imperial style which seems fairly unfortunate given the fact that they are one of the playable races. I'm hopeful they eventually revisit some of this because in my own personal view this kind of thing is not the sort of item that is fun to purchase with real life money. Its like paying to skip content, and it feels wrong. If I'm paying to skip content why don't I just skip the whole thing? - That's how I feel.

A good friend of mine in game has the Observatory as well. Its a neat house I just imagine its not for everyone.

I will but it's going to take me awhile for sure. Getting the right furnishings is going to be a struggle. I just joined a housing guild though so I'm hoping someone there knows a lot of the plans as there is no way I'm gonna get the ones i need to drop.

Dang. I am on Xbox NA unfortunately.

I completely agree about the grind for DLC furnishing plans. The drop-rates are an absolute joke. If they are going to maintain the drop rates then the DLC plans need to be added in the Hlaalu furnishing document loot tables. You'd have the be the most naive player on the planet to not realize that the low drop rate of DLC furnishings is a blatant money-grab. And you just KNOW there are going to be special summerset isle style furnishing plans coming out in like 6 months that have just as bad drop rates and will be available in the crown store. I wonder if the people working on this game feel bad that they are being forced to implement these low drop rates because I would feel terrible about what I am doing to the players. RIP to the invaluable free-time I spend looking inside virtual containers only to find virtual lockpicks and virtual water and virtual rocks. I've always been very vocal about how disgusting of a tactic this is to drive players to the crown store but now that I actually own one of these DLC homes my disgust is turning into anger and frustration and and empty wallet.

The solution is to stick to your guns and buck the trend. I have no problem buying something like these houses. In many cases I prefer to use in game gold but I can live with it in the same way I can live with purchasing ships like I did on STO. It becomes a problem when the whole game is about hitting a pay wall everywhere you go. This is the same problem a lot of games are facing. Just watch half the episodes of Angry Joe flipping out about the gaming industry. My view of it is this: Stick to your guns and play the game in a manner that is fun. If the game can't be fun because they've put up too many hurdles, don't play the game. I'm already determined that ESO is the last one for me. It all hangs in the balance with this game for me. Hopefully the developers are smart enough to recognize that many of us feel this way and they're really wasting revenue by causing people to opt out of the market. It is unfortunate but many of these gaming companies are really looking for the 'gambling addict' mentality or I guess 'gamer addict'. They want to latch onto that desire to play video games and use it to suck the life force out of the gamer. Its a pretty disgusting habit that the industry has fallen into and one that I could not personally see myself going for. There are just some businesses I would never go into: casino-owner, pimp, drug dealer, hitman and cash-shop video game developer. I am a strong believer in the power of business to do good in the world not only for the owner but for the world at large. Corporations are not all the evil hydras that some people believe them to be. Some are and many aren't. Corporations are just people getting together to do business. I just want to do businesses that I can be proud of and I think most people feel the same way. Hopefully the gaming industry will get the memo (battlefront didn't).

Honestly, the constant movement and sound was enough to make me uncomfortable while previewing it.It didn't feel like a home I could relax in.

As someone who sleeps with a fan on at night the sounds of the house is one of my favorite features! I almost always need some sort of noise or white noise in my life.

Well, I would say you should ask yourself just how much 'real' money you are willing to pay to view your 'Virtual' game trophies once in a blue moon.

Personally I just spent about 120$ on a house (not this one but another large home) then furnished and decorated it and added all the crafting stations services a bank and a merchant.

My thought process was that I would 'park' my characters at my 'house' and get to see all my trophies regularly, so to me that 'seemed' worth the price, since I love this game so much that having a space of my own means something to me.

However, I quickly found that I am penalized for staying home.

My Merchant cannot 'repair' my items so it is next to useless between quests and dungeon crawls.

My Bank has no 'Guild' access so I can't post items for sale or store retrieve items in my Guilds bank.

There is no 'wayshrine' service for you home so if you want to 'travel' somewhere for a quest you have to leave you home and ride to the nearest world 'wayshrine'.

After spending over 100$ I find I still park my characters in the back of a barn at a local town which has easy access to fully functional service and a wayshrine in addition to allowing me to start and complete may daily crafting writes all in one place where everything is less than 10 seconds of in game walking distance apart.

Sooo, the question you should really ask yourself is how much do you love this game, how much are you willing to pay and how many Game service conveniences are you willing to give up just to look at your virtual trophies.

I don't' totally regret buying a home, but if I could go back in time, I would have bought a smaller cheaper home and not put any crafting, banking or merchant services in it.

That makes a certain amount of sense. That sort of background noise makes me edgy until I get used to it, but I can see where it would make for good white noise.

Yeah I'm like Apache Kid. I sleep all year round with a fan, even in winter up here in Canada. White noise relaxes me. Observatory is relaxing to me as well
