The mechanics of mound feeding, and waiting for research were so mind bogglingly weird for a sub game or a B2P game, that it was...odd to see them still intact.
They just need to both be removed. Of course we know now why they held onto them, to move crowns. But come on. Who seriously spends crowns on these things?

I create a bunch of characters. Don't level them. They just sit at level 5 or whatever, parked at the stable. By the time I go to actually level them months later, their mounts are trained.
Unfortunately, that requires that I make a character before I actually want to play that character. Which is fine--I've done that for most of mine. But I also have a few characters that were impulse creations, and those are a pain to play.

because doing the character shuffle once a day to level their mount is playing the game, apparently? i would rather, you know.. actualy play the game then track the time, oh right time to relog and click on a vendor, to give them 250 gold.

So, you know, don’t?
I have 10 toons, 5 are at CP, maybe 6 have top speed, maybe 3 have to everything for riding. I feel no obligation to go and do dailies on all of them every day or max/min my trait research realisation curves. I play a game as and when I choose with each toon different doing its own thing... this isn’t a job or some game where you can ‘win’, the prize is the pleasure of playing and there is very little in this game that is locked behind a horse upgrade.

I've stated in other, similar threads that I think that each mount's speed/stam/bag should be account bound, however each different mount should have to be trained independently.
Example - Brown Sorrel Horse (BSH) is at 60/60/60 on character 1, all other characters should be able to access BSH and have it be fully trained. However, if you elect to purchase a Rainbow Brite Guar (RBG), you will now have to train it up for 180 days to get the same effect. Theoretically since the mounts are account bound, you're just accessing the same mount at your account stable (different rider - same mount), but why should a completely different mount be fully trained just because a certain rider sits on top?
That's my opinion anyway.

This is a great idea. This meets in the middle of "well we still have to train a fair amount of horses" and "Lets make this convenient for alts". I don't even pay attention to my riding skill on alts anymore, but this would make me do it. It adds value to the older horses I trained hard but rarely ride anymore and yet gives me motivation to train a new mount I'd like to ride regularly. I much rather work toward a few choice steeds that all my characters use.
I don't rp in ESO but I think it's also an RP benefit that I'd have old lady Res pass her prized steed or guar down to her nephew and other friends.
It also seems to hurt the least so long as we get to pick a mount that our current character's riding skills go on. Conceptually at least.
No, but I'd be ok if they allowed 2 upgrades a day for ESO+ members

Would be nice if they were maxed in Cyrodiil as keeping up with high level players with maxed out mounts can be quite the challenge.
